Known as a pioneering Nike silhouette, the Daybreak was constructed with a nylon and suede upper, simple foam midsole and Waffle-bottom outsole. Recognized for its irreverent color combinations, the Daybreak arrives 40 years later with modern updates while staying true to the original silhouette. The 1970s is arguably the golden-era of Nike footwear, the decade birthed some of Nike’s most iconic running shoes which still go on to inspire their designs over 40 years later. Similar in design to some of the Oregon-based brand’s other classic styles – namely the LDV and Air Tailwind ’79 – the Daybreak boasts an early revolutionary piece of Nike tech: the Waffle outsole. Few brands are commended for their outsoles, but back in the ’70s, Nike founder Bill Bowerman’s quest for a sole that wouldn’t lose grip on a range of surfaces led to the invention of the iconic Waffle outsole. The tale of its invention has gone down in footwear folklore: apparently, Bill’s eureka moment came while sitting at breakfast table over a plate of waffles. Experimenting with swapping out batter for urethane, the waffle-iron made outsole was a game-changer, providing glue-like grip on a range of running surfaces. This new Daybreak comes with yellow details and a black upper. The white midsole and the black outsole make the look complete.

Shoe fits great. Process went smooth.
I sincerely hope that Nike read this. I'm a 66 year old Hall of Fame rocker who's been wearing these since '79, when Nike used to give my band stuff. So, here's my point, and it doesn't only apply to Nike because I have the same issues with reissue models by A****S. I always go up a half size on these vintage reissues, which is fine but here's my point: they all fit narrower than they seemed to back then. Doesn't it ever occur to these companies that many people who seek these out and collect them do so because they had them 40 years ago and are so happy to see them reissued? Yes, the foot spreads as we age, but these overly narrow widths seem more extreme than I remember. I read many reviews with similar comments; I wish these guys would listen. Even a few extra mm ... MoreI sincerely hope that Nike read this. I'm a 66 year old Hall of Fame rocker who's been wearing these since '79, when Nike used to give my band stuff. Even a few extra mm would make a big difference. When your toes are 3/4" from the end but you still need to wear thin socks with a sneaker, someone has got the geometry wrong.
I am old school, and I love these old school shoes
Great shoe, comfortable and very stylish. I enjoy these with slacks and a t shirt. I feel fresh and comfy all day at work and even on the weekend. I bought a couple pairs of various colors. Fast east efficient order and delivery thanks Nike!!
I was thinking about the size , sometimes i have to return to get the right size . The color is perfect , the size is perfect. The style is 👍🏿 . I can not wait to wear these shoes ... I like it
The shoes color is amazing and the design is pretty awesome. But they should warn about how thin the shoe is. Not everyone has thing feet so these shoes are horrible for wide foots.
