I bought these and the Flyknit. I tend to use the Flyknit for the intended use of HIIT workouts and general wear. If I was to to pick one or the other strictly for the full range of working out I would choose the Free. The front has good flex for running and the heel has a solid base for heavy lifts, everything else in between goes well too, nothing annoying sticks out. They don’t look as good as the flyknit but the free have more function. Personally I just enjoy the Free more and felt the fit was better than the Flyknit. I love them both though.

I had seen this pareticular shoe on Nike's web site and thought it looked very good. Loved the style and color choices. Just happened to pop into Dicks Sporting goods in Rockwall Texas looking for another shoe when I spotted this on their wall. Unfortunately they didn't have my size. My sale associate's name was Jordon. He was amazing. He searched everywhere in the stock room just in case my size was somewhere back there. He then located another Dick's Sporting Goods store that had my size. It just happened to be on my way back to my office. He made contact with that store and made sure their salesassociate put them on hold for me untill I got there. I made the purchase and Jordon made my day!Love the shoes. They're comfortable. I loved the look of the sneaker as soon as I saw it. I initially ordered a size 12 , although depending upon the brand, I can be an 11 1/2 or a 12. This is where the awesome service came in. The 12 was still too small, so I was able to return the sneakers to a Nordstrom Rack near my home. This made the experience worthwhile all by itself, because it is so convenient! After the return was complete,I ordered a size 12 1/2 and those were still a little tight. Fortunately, I have a shoe stretcher which helped make the fit comfortable. And let me tell you, walking in these is very comfortable! They are light and the sole provides excellent cushioning! I walk an average of 10 miles every day. I love these...I'm typically a Nikes, Adidas and Brooks girl. Nike shoes do vary in fit so I wasn't sure if I needed a 10.5 or 11. Based on the reviewed I got an 11 and the fit is perfect with a thin to mid weight sock. They are cut a little closer than my other size 11 Nikes however they fit great. My other Nikes allow room for a thicker sock. I'm a 10-10.5 in Adidas so sizing can be all over the place. Whatever your true size is, you may want to size up a 1/2 size or whole size if you want to wear thick socks. They provide a lot of stability for weight training and shock absorption for power walks. We'll see how it holds up over the long term.
These shoes are the most amazing cross-trainers I've ever had. Rock solid stability for squat and deadlift and comfortable enough to run in under 3 miles - they also look amazing. One problem, the shoe lace system is beyond bad. The shoe lace loops break off and the laces squeeze your feet through the shoe. I'm on my second pair of laces, have drilled holes in the shoe to replace the broken lace loops and now those have torn. So much potential, but its time for the garbage.
This is seriously the best workout shoe I've ever owned. I am not a CrossFit person, but I do a lot of cross training. Due to the circumstances, I have been working out at home with bodyweight, resistance bands, and a kettebell (the Bowflex one I purchased here). These shoes are exactly as advertised... flexible and cushioned up front, stable at the heel. I have a wide and relatively flat foot...they fit just right. They are perfect for my current usage. I even wore them shopping and enjoyed the comfort. I have owned/currently own many workout shoes, several purchased from here. These have supplanted my Reebok Nano 2s as my all time favorite.
I got these as an every day shoe. When I first put them on, they were really snug. They are actually slip on shoes that have string for appearance..you can tighten it, but there is no loosening. They give great support and don't slip around when you walk. Of course, I have had several people stop me just to tell me how awesome they were (one actually said "Sick"). I wasn't sold on them whenI first put them on..they felt so tight. I gave it a day or two and now they are just perfect. I would buy these again.
I bought my first pair of Metcon 3 about 2 months ago after starting a strength training program for recovery from back surgery. I'm a former runner and my running shoes didn't provide enough rear foot stability for free weight training. The Metcon 3 made a huge difference in how much more "planted" I feel while squatting, deadlifting and barbell rows. I've ordered my 2nd pair for daily wear. I plan to stick with the Metcon 3 as long as Nike keeps making them.
i wanted to love these but man! as a guy wrote - they rub the back of my ankle/Achilles sooooo bad im returning! they also invert my feet so weird! definitely not a good training shoe! very disappointed and returning unfortunately!
This are super comfy & great to train in. They came highly recommended from friends who use them to workout. I have TONS of Nike sneakers and use these maybe 1-2 times a week to train for 1 hour. I’ve only had the for maybe 3 months and they are tearing in the corners of both sneakers =\ sadly had to return. I might try the Metcon 4 next instead. Wish me luck!
