A True Disappointment

Had heard these were the best for cross training so was very excited when they went on sale. The Valerian Blue is beautiful in person. As some commented, getting shoe on is a pain, but thanks to helpful reviewer, figured that out. Wore to an Orange Theory class and noticed they were uncomfortable in toe box and not particularly supportive. Ultimately had to ice both knees that night. I could not work out for several days after wearing these shoes. I do not have knee issues. This was a direct result of these shoes. I have worn different shoes to class since and no knee issues. These were an incredible disappointment.

The Nike Free Metcon 4 Women’s Training Shoe is a perfect all-around shoe for any type of woman. Not only were these shoes supportive enough for my high intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts throughout the week, but there were also so comfortable that I chose to also wear them to work daily at the hospital where I am on my feet all day long. The shoe has a thick sole which is a bit different from shoes I have owned in the past but now I understand why I was having comfort issues in the past. The thick sole provides stability that I never realized I needed having a flat foot. The shoe is very attractive and catchy, with the orange and sea foam green hints on the white shoe and shoe base. I was a little hesitant about wearing a white shoe being a pretty active but clumsy person but any dirt that got on my shoe was easily cleaned off. One of my co-workers even accidentally spilled her coffee on the shoes and my pants, and then the coffee wiped off the shoes instantly! I typically wear a size 8 in most tennis shoes but have worn a size 7.5 in most other Nike shoes I have owned. However, I did find this shoe to be true to size as the size 8 fit perfectly. My favorite part was actually that the shoe does not have a tongue. Not having to worry about the tongue moving around, or the laces getting snagged or stuck underneath (the tongue) was definitely much more convenient than I anticipated! I can say with certainty that I would not change anything about this shoe. The Nike Free Metcon4 shoe is an A+ shoe and one that I would recommend to anyone looking for a well-designed and supportive shoe, whether for work or play!

Comfortable and stylish but runs small

I had been eyeing these shoes for a while and finally decided to buy them. Some reviews said they run small, so I went to a local shoe store to try out the fit. I've been wearing Nike shoes for almost two decades and I have been a solid size 8.5 in Nike's women, but had to size up to a 9. The primary purpose of these shoes are for working out, which mainly consists of circuit training and some cardio. I noticed a huge difference in the stability compared to my NMDs. They're more lightweight and provides better stability for pivoting, balancing, and weightlifting. My trainers noticed a difference in my stance as well. I've had these shoes for about a month now but I've worn them to work out about 4 times a week. They're holding up well so far and I love the style. Fuss free return (size), new pair fantastic
11 February 2023

I bought a pair of these for my wife for her birthday, they were too small. I concur with other reviews of these shoes, that the sizing runs small. The first pair we ordered were too small, so we ordered a larger pair and mailed the first pair back for a return as per instructions. The return process was simple and promptly processed, so I would see no reason to fear them not fitting if you order online. The new pair arrived and my wife loves them. My wife describes them as exceptionally comfortable and stable feeling, she uses them for gym workouts. The colorway looks smooth too, as a bonus. I'm happy to recommend the shoe and the retailer based on our experience :)

Keep Making the Metcon 4!
5 January 2023

Nikes Metcon 4 fit my feet perfectly! Out of all my 20+ pairs of Nikes these are my favorite for their wearability, durability, flexibility and style. They cradle my feet and are perfect for outdoor Total Fit classes as well as indoor Barre, machines, and weight stations. These go-to shoes have shown no signs of wear and get lots of compliments. Please keep making these in other colors like lime green yellow, and red. Always size up with Nikes. I purchase size 8 for my 7 1/2 feet. I wear a normal width but my foot width tends towards narrow. If you have wide feet, these may not be for you. Other styles have a wider toe bed that tends to ripple across the top of my foot. Metcon 4’s cradle my feet and provide stability during my workouts with balance and strength.

Most comfortable!
4 December 2023

As soon as I tried the shoe on, it felt soooo good. They are the most comfortable shoes I ever worn. At first I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to fit them as I have wide feet and I saw that they run small. I took a chance and got a 9.5 which is my usual wear and it fit like a glove. The snug fit is perfect for me and some shoes make my feet look like they are wide and goes over the sole but this shoe doesn’t. It made me feet look like they are small. I will most definitely buy more of these shoes as shoes this comfortable for wide feet are hard to come by.

Super comfy!!
17 November 2023

I love these! Purchased specifically for the gym, perfect for squats, deadlifts, etc. and gives me the stability I’m looking for, especially on those heavy lift days. Have also gotten tons of compliments, these shoes are not only super cute, but also extremely functional and comfortable! I did go half a size up since many reviews recommended, and I do appreciate the extra room. But, I also feel like I would’ve been fine with my regular size, as they’re pretty roomy on the width and toe box. They’re even comfortable enough for a jog on the treadmill after weight training, and my feet stay happy (even though I absolutely HATE cardio)! These are probably the absolute best gym shoes I’ve owned. Loved them so much, I went and purchased a second pair!

The Best Workout Shoe!
6 June 2023

I love these shoes so much. They’re cute, go with everything (I got the black and white ones) and are super comfortable. I’ve always worn Converse for my leg days but I heard great things about these and wanted to try them since I can’t (or don’t want to) wear my Chuck Taylors for cardio. These shoes are great for lifting and cardio. I love the grip they have when doing squats, hip thrusts, etc. They’re super light and very comfortable. The only thing to be cautious of is the sizing. Nike’s website recommends ordering half a size up. I was hesitant to do that because I’m a size 6 in every kind of shoe and every brand. I bought a half size bigger and they fit great so I’m glad I listened to the recommendation. I highly recommend these!!!

stylish, sleek design
28 May 2021

I am an active mom who loves to be outside running and I also exercise in the gym. These Nike Free Metcon 4 shoes are beautiful! I love the stylish, sleek, modern design and the white, lilac, and teal colors really pop. I have received many compliments on them already. I was curious about how the shoes would feel once they were on because even though there are laces to tighten them along the front, they are slip-on and there is no way to adjust the opening at the heel where your foot goes in so there is no wiggle room if they are too small. These were a size 7 which is my normal size but I found them just a bit snug when I first put them on. I felt they were a bit tight to put on but as soon as I started moving around in them my feet settled in and they ended up being comfortable overall. I would recommend that people with wider feet size up a bit because they might be too snug for wider feet. They offer a lot of support and bounce during exercise, which I loved. I wore them mainly for exercise so far but have worn them a few times all day and they were comfortable. The thing I like most about this shoe is the sleek design and high quality materials. They seem well-made so I am hoping they will become a staple in my workout routine and everyday wear. I would recommend these shoes but because they are not adjustable at the opening at all, I worry that I may stretch them out too much over time as I break them in further. The only thing I would change is to perhaps add some sort of adjustable feature like a strap on the side to the opening where you put your foot in so that you can loosen and tighten it as needed.

super cute and comfortable

These are absolutely the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! It's cute, flexible, lightweight, and comfortable on my feet. I also get a lot of compliments on the shoes whenever I wear them to the gym.I really hope more shades of these shoes drop and Nike continues to make them. Because, as someone who has tried both Free Metcon 4 and 5, I think Free Metcon 4 is more stylish, more comfortable, provides greater ankle support, and is lighter compared to 5. I will definitely buy another pair as a backup. (But I really hope for additional colours to drop.) I wear my shoes for weight lifting, walking, and cardio, and I also wear them while travelling.I got my usual size (7), and it fits like a glove!
