When it comes to basketball shoes my top picks are kobes and kds. This shoe is honestly one of the most comfortable basketball shoes I’ve ever worn! I don’t know what technology Nike put in the kd 9 and kd 10 but it’s so cushioned and responsive. You can really feel those air bags or the tech in it. I love the material the shoe is made it of, super comfortable and breathable. I only play indoors and the grip is fine on all surfaces. Shoe is light and looks pretty sweet. Your foot is lockdown on them and it’s a top notch basketball shoe. I did pop a air baf in this shoe one time for a I know reason while hooping and Nike’s great customer service helped me out and sent me another pair.

I bought these for leisure. I take great care of my shoes. The bottom literally started peeling off the first week I bought them. I also notice that it appears that the glue is deteriorating. I continuously get white chalky build up about the size of dimes around the air pickets. The shoes began squeaking as well. I would assume that's due to them falling apart. I love how comfortable and breathable they are, but I will be looking to file a claim and get another pair. However, it looks like Black is out of stock now. To be completely honest... I love Nike Footware, but their shoes and boots fall apart 65 percent of the time. I attached a picture. You can see what i'm talking about with the chalky build up in spots. They are dirty today because it rained, and I wore ... MoreI bought these for leisure. I take great care of my shoes. The bottom literally started peeling off the first week I bought them. First, this shoe is aesthetically nice!! performance wise? not so good. Materials are nice I like the all flyknit upper and the thick laces! Easy to put on and I dont need to double lace with these thick laces! Lock down is nowhere to be found. I'm not even that athletic but I can't really feel the lock down especially when you cut and drive. Support is also bad, Bad lock down = bad support. Traction did not work well for me too. I need to wipe almost every time because it picks up a lot of dust and sometimes I slide when I try to put defense and drive. Speaking of traction, the sole traction wear off pretty easily, I maybe put only 10hours of playing time on them and they really show signs of wearing off and that is INDOOR COURTS. I definitely do not suggest this ... MoreFirst, this shoe is aesthetically nice!! performance wise? not so good. Materials are nice I like the all flyknit upper and the thick laces! Fit? fit is okay, I normally wear size 11 and got a 10.5 works fine but sometimes my feet still slide unless I wear Nike NBA socks (grip on those socks are awesome!) Comfort? Its stiff at first, as expected because its new, but it will your feet will mold the shoes later on. Cushion? I dont know how to feel about the cushion. Full length zoom supposed to be comfortable but for some reason it kinda of didnt work for me. I experienced some shin pains after games I suspect it's the cushion? I never had these pains on my previous shoes.

I'm a junior in high school, and I'm starting to get into basketball. I wanted to go to the Nike outlet because they always have awesome sales. I went to the clearance rack and saw a pair of the black & white ones w/ camo bottoms. They looked awesome so I tried them on, even though they were half a size smaller than what I usually wear in Nike. Regardless my feet fell in love. The shoes were pretty stiff out of the box, but broke in rather nicely and pretty quickly. The tongue and lacing system are my favorite aspect of the shoe. It's super comfortable and easy to take on/off. Everything else about the shoe is pretty average though. Traction is good but not fantastic. Does get pretty dusty though, so be mindful of that. The lockdown is the only aspect I think could really be fixed. When I'm playing I can easily feel my feet moving around in the shoes, and I'm not even that good. So if lockdown is important to you, I would stay away from these, and if you have a wide foot I would not recommend as well. But for anyone else, I give you the green light, because I'm liking my KD 10s so far.
TL;DR: Comfortable shoe that has good court feel after break in and runs a solid 1/2 size big, but doesn't compare to KobeIX IMHO.----Pros: Good comfort, great ankle mobility, low court feel, great look, 7/10 traction.----Cons: No ankle protection other than deep heel counter, lacing system could use another 4-8" of lacing and laces will move on you, and lack of "scales" or "grip" on insole will cause sock to slide.----I bought the faint blue color way the day it came out and tried to really figure out why these felt so weird. I played in them two to three times and really just felt like I was sliding around in them a lot, but they didn't "feel big" to me. I think the full flyknit upper can deceive you in terms of how the shoe fits. I think the full flyknit upper can deceive you in terms of how the shoe fits. I ended up returning the faint blue ones (11.5) and tried on the oreo (fingerprint) at Nike SF. The half size down drastically changed how the shoe felt.----I've been playing in the Kobe IX elite for about two years now and while I like this shoe both visually and comfort-wise, the performance I feel is not quite up to par with the Kobe's.----Personally, I feel like Nike really drops the ball on court traction with most shoes these days. Why some shoes are not specifically designed for indoor or outdoor play, I don't know.----Overall, I'm happy with these once I went half size down. They are great to look at and as someone who prefers to feel low to the court, these are pretty good. These are not a ONE STOP SHOP Basketball shoe though - for ankle protection/grip/durability you may find another shoe to be better suited. I think these are good for someone who likes court feel and has good footwork.
This is the 3rd pair of KD's I have purchased for my son. The shoes are comfortable and easy for him to practice and play ball in. Even his AAU team ordered the red KD's as the team shoe one year. To our disappointment every time...the shoe laces do not last. We just purchased this pair of KD's for his school basketball season and the laces has shredded apart. My son now has 3 pairs of KD's that he is not able to wear because the laces cannot be replaced! These shoes are a waste of money, considering the laces will only last a few months (less than 6 months). An additional pair of laces should be included in the shoe box, if the original laces aren't going to last 6 months. OR nike should sell the laces on their website as an option for parents who don't have money ... MoreThis is the 3rd pair of KD's I have purchased for my son. Nike missed the mark on this one. First, I'll start off with the obvious highlights of the shoe: impact protection that's second to none, responsive, premium materials, and great aesthetics. Now for the downsides: poor fit, runs large, sub-par traction, and a horrible lacing system that is also to blame for the poor fit.I normally wear a size 12; however, I had to get an 11.5 in these and they're still a hair too wide down the entire length of the shoe. The lacing system offers no lockdown, whatsoever. No matter how tight I lace them, I cannot get my heels locked securely into place, and I end up with a slight, but constant heel slippage. In addition, the laces dig in to the tops of my feet, making the shoes uncomfortable. Lastly, the traction is too soft, causing ... MoreNike missed the mark on this one. In addition, the laces dig in to the tops of my feet, making the shoes uncomfortable. Lastly, the traction is too soft, causing some areas to be almost completely worn down after having only used the shoes twice indoors so far. Also, the traction doesn't offer much 'bite' for quick cuts and drives. As a comparison, I have a pair of Kobe X Elite's that are half a size too big, yet offer an incredible fit that keeps my feet locked down. They also have superior traction that in addition to offering amazing grip, doesn't wear down even after using them in outdoor tournaments.I desperately wanted to like the KDX's, but Nike missed the mark. I hope that they fix these issues with the KD 11's.
Like many others, I bought KDX due to the unique style and good looking. The sneaker itself looks great, especially on feet. However, as soon as I put it on I immediately noticed that I can't feel any cushion and there's something pushing against the arch of my feet. The sneaker feels hard and very uncomfortable. I thought maybe it will get better after break-in and forced myself to wear it. I have worn the sneaker around 8 times now and each time my feet hurt more than the last time. It feels like my feet are not on a flat surface and arch of my foot hurt a lot after the game. I'm not even talking about serious basketball games, I feel pain even after just shooting around.. The sneaker feels loose on my feet because of the lace system and the arch of my feet literally feels like I'm stepping on a pebble. I have owned countless Jordans, Kobes, Hyperdunks, Jumpman sneakers since the 90s. This is by far the most uncomfortable Nike sneaker I have ever worn. It may be ok for casual wearer for walking purpose but if you plan to use it for basketball I would recommend looking elsewhere.
First off, I'll say that I loved the KD 9 - the fit, cushion, zoom air, transition, just about everything except the durability. I went through several pair but kept buying them on discount because they were so good. With this version, you lose that bouncy feel and more of a break in is required. I do feel like this version is more durable and will not pop which is a plus. The issue comes from lockdown - on hard cuts or stops, my feet are sliding from side to side. I always wear two pair of socks when playing to I can only imagine if you are just wearing one and trying to keep locked in. The materials are nice, but the lacing system and lack of bounce really make this just an average shoe for me. Hoping the next version of the KD's are as good as the last.
I bought these because the KD9 were one of my favorites and this shoe just looked like an upgrade from the KD9 in looks and quality. The KD9 bubble popped when I played in them so I was hoping these would do better since that was the main problem with the 9s.Everything about this shoe is great. Great traction, bubble seems stronger (because it wasnt as cushion as the 9) but a bit more stiff. It is still just as comfortable. The only thing that I had a problem with and the reason why I returned the shoes was because you really could not feel any ankle support. Most low tops have decent ankle support, even though they are low tops. But this one just felt like i was wearing like vans juiced up.
