This shoe is for light and shifty guards like me. I loved the traction, the cushion was very low to the floor and support was great. There was really no issues with this shoe. I got the College Navy color and these colors match my team colors very well and overall, I really loved this shoe.

Quality materials and build. AMAZING ankle stability for a low-top. These run small so go up .5 size - even if you have a narrow foot. Good for indoor hoops, drills, CrossFit, and neutral enough to be worn as a casual shoe. Break in time was similar to the Sabrina 2.

This is a 10 year old shoe, and the tech really shows for even being a “Protro” that it’s not even up to par with many other shoes on the market. The react drop-in midsole was very stiff and took forever to break and and had no cushioning whatsoever so ever, which I get because it’s a minimalist shoe that has very good court feel, but still the older Lunarlon midsole on the og pairs was ways better. Next is the shoe build, very narrow, so if you have wide feet don’t even think about it. My first pair of Kobes so wasn't sure what to expect. For a textile upper it was a bit stiff to get my foot into initially but once in it molded comfortably to my foot. The React drop-in midsole is cushy and comfortable but it also masks the Zoom unit so it doesn't feel as responsive just on casual walk around but I'll need to see how it feels on court. Glad I was able to get this colorway and looking forward to really putting these to work!
I still have my pair of Kobe 8 Milk Snake from 2013, so I was able to make a comparison. The Protro has a padded tongue, but the insole is a little firmer. Overall, I like to design and feel of the Protro. I hope that Nike will make a Protro of the Milk Snake design.
I was hesitant to order since I still have pair of original Kobe VIII. But couldn’t resist an open opportunity to get updated Kobe Protro.Very narrow fit. Glad I read previous reviews and order half (10.5) size up. Still tight fit. Probably should have got full size up. Stiff and will require break in. High quality material and nice Nike swoosh embroidery.
Honestly I didn’t believe that my size was still available, I triple checked the size because I was in disbelief that I was going to be able to get a new pair of Kobe’s. The unbelievable happened and I was able to secure a pair! These shoes are crazy comfortable and super snug, but not uncomfortable.
