Loved the colorway and the overall look of these Kyries. Perfectly sized to my foot, but unfortunately, the way the ankle is cut protrudes a bit into the bottom of my tibia. This will hopefully go away with time.For basketball, I found the shoes to be light, bouncy, and responsive. I'm hardly a serious hooper, but at least now my opponents respect my drip.Would likely elevate this to a five star review after giving the shoes a bit more run, assuming the issue with the ankle cut resolves itself. I may end up adding an insert to see if that fixes it.

The Nike Kyrie Low 5 Basketball Shoes are awesome indoor basketball shoes. I'm extremely picky about what I wear on the court and these past the test with flying colors. My career is in basketball and I train high-level players on a regular basis. If you like low-cut, light shoes such as the Kobe line, you'll love this shoe. Although at first glance, they might seen a little bulky looking, you'll be surprised right away by how light the shoe is. Sizing is extreme true to size. Traction is as good as it gets on an indoor court. The lacing system is nothing fancy -- just the standard way that is tried and true. I love the Zoom cushioning of course. The lockdown feel is also great. The simple silhouette is bright and light, which makes it a perfect and comfortable summer basketball shoe.The fabric upper makes them super breathable and comfortable to walk in, but also fitted enough to not leave your feet loose inside the shoe. After wearing the kyrie low 5 basketball shoe I must say I was impressed! The shoe is lightweight and has a great fit around my feet which was important since I would be playing basketball in them. The mid-cut profile is nice for good ankle support also. The designs on the shoe are nice but I'm not to concerned about that since I wouldn't be wearing these casually. I love the great traction I get on the basketball court from this shoe if that's important to you. The material can be stiff at times near the toe area, so a different softer material is one thing I would change.
These shoes were perfect for my weekly pickup games! The comfort along side the nice shoe style make playing just a little more enjoyable and I didn’t think I could enjoy the game of basketball anymore than I already do! The sole pattern provides much more grip than I anticipated and helps with fast movements. With fast movements you need tons of stability, and I believe they could’ve done better with that aspect of the shoes. It did cause me to stumble at first due to the lack of ankle support when doing a jab step. Overall I would recommend these shoes to mainly guards! Lightweight and great for everyday use if desired!

On the outsides of the shoes where the ankle bone sits there is an overlap of fabric where the heel cup meets the sidewall that forces the fabric to sit tightly against my ankle bone rubbing against the bottom of my ankle bone. If this overlap was made similarly to the transition on the inside of the shoes I could most definitely wear this shoe all day.This is visually one of the most attractive shoes I own. I have gotten several compliments on them.There is only one thing I would change on these shoes. The way the outside of the shoe is transitioned from the heel to the sidewall.Overall a very very solid basketball shoe, or really more of a lifestyle shoe. I could see myself wearing these shoes doing most everything. I will give them a solid 9/10
It’s a nice looking shoe if you want to wear it on a daily basis for fashion. It’s not too bulky so it has a sporty feel and look without being too obvious that it’s a basketball shoe but it equals as an amazing athletic shoe also. Feels perfect the moment you put them on from what I’m told. No breaking in needed. My husband took them out of the box and wore them for two back to back games and loved them. My son is now planning to get another pair for his high school season games. Great shoe and very versatile.

While wearing these I noticed that they seem to run a tad narrow in the toe, but the midfoot and heel seem to be a pretty standard width. If you have a wide foot going up half a size would probably be a good move. If you don’t have a wide foot I’d definitely recommend going true to size.Materials/cushion - I’m pretty impressed with the materials used, especially at the price point. The tongue is nicely padded. It’s not so thick to the point of feeling restrictive, but it is thick enough to relieve pressure on top of your foot from tying down the laces pretty tightly. Moving to the heel there’s a thicker woven material that makes up most of the upper part of the heel. At the bottom portion near where the midsole meets the heel there’s a synthetic leather panel. These materials are nice and supportive and really make the shoe feel nice and stable. The cushion setup is also pretty impressive in my opinion. The foam used in the midsole is nice and cushy, but not too soft. The zoom in the forefoot is responsive underfoot but not too crazy. If you’re a big guy, these probably won’t be great for you as this cushion setup doesn’t offer a ton of impact protection. I’m a lightweight player so that isn’t a very high priority for me when it comes to basketball shoes. The materials used keep the weight of the shoes down while not sacrificing durability, which was intentional I’m sure.Lockdown - the lockdown feels really good on the shoes which is typical for the Kyrie line. The materials used in the heel really help pull the heel in, and in my experience I didn’t feel any heel slippage at all. The upper features a lateral support wing towards the outside toe are of the shoe. This helped keep my foot over the footbed during hard cuts and changes of direction. I didn’t feel unstable at all while making cuts so I was very impressed with the lateral containment. There’s also a medial support on the inside in the midfoot area of the shoe. I didn’t notice this as much while playing, but I usually consider that a good thing. They utilize a bootie construction instead of flywire or other lace loops with a detached tongue to help lock the foot in. Overall I felt very secure and stable in this shoe which is great especially while playing in a low top basketball sneaker.Court feel - the court feel on this is really good, which is also typical of the Kyrie shoe line. The zoom in the forefoot isn’t so thick/bouncy that it takes away from the court feel. I felt nice and low to the ground in these while playing in some pickup games. I didn’t feel like there was any lag time while making moves and cuts - the shoes were very responsive.Traction - the traction is also really good, another typical feature of the Kyrie line. Changing directions and making cuts was a breeze even on a surface that was slightly dusty. I had to wipe my feet a few times while playing (I do this in any shoe though, it’s just a habit), but I noticed very minimal slippage. The rubber does seem pretty soft however, so these will definitely last longer if you keep them indoors versus outdoors.Overall thoughts - overall I’m impressed with the Kyrie Low 5. The shoes are lightweight and breathable, have very solid traction and court feel, and the cushion setup and lockdown are impressive too. If I could, I’d add a zoom unit in the heel, or add a zoom strobel for added cushion and responsiveness. Other than that, I think these are shoes are very well put together. If you’ve played in any of the previous Kyrie models you won’t be disappointed with these. I would definitely suggest this shoe to all the hoopers out there!
