I have been hooping in Lebrons since the 11's. At least 2-3 times a week, I'm a dunker and have tried the KD's, too narrow, tried Kyries and those were good but nothing beats the level of support and comfort from the LBJ's. Previous to the 16's the extra support and comfort came at cost of extra weight, that changed in the 16's, but the 16's were not as light, NO WHERE NEAR as responsive and the comfort right out of the box is unreal. No more stubbed toes, no more suffocating feet, lock down yet breatherable!! these are amazing - I usually don't write reviews but I have to say something!

After being reluctant to hop on the Lebron bandwagon, I wore my first pair of Lebrons which were the 16’s. I really liked 16’s and after seeing Nike build upon that platform I decided to purchase the 17’s. As of right now, the Lebrons are my favorite shoes and I’ve purchased 3 pairs of the 17. They are super comfortable, fit very well, are breathable and stable thanks to the flyknit/ knitposite material and have great responsiveness and cushioning from the Air Max heel and Air Zoom pods in the forefoot. I wear my shoes so much that I wear through soles but I have yet to have any problems with durability in the Air pods. I don’t usually bother to write reviews but I love the shoes enough to do so.

Visually appealing. Supportive yet lightweight. Easy to take off/on. When I first put these on they felt wonderful to the soles of my feet. I felt like I could walk for miles but, after 5 hours on my feet, my ankles were done. Now that may sound bad but here is the thing, the shoes were correcting my bad ankle posture. My feet/ankles tend to pronate (lean inward) putting my knees and back out of alignment thus causing multiple issues. With that said in relative comparison the discomfort of building up my ankle strength versus the foot, back, and knee pain this was a good purchase.

My personal preference is for there to be some extra space in the toe box. No complaints on fit. If i need to make a critique, it is going to be on the stiffness of the tongue when lacing up the shoe for a snug fit. On that same note, the fit is one to one when laced up. The shoe feels like its a part of my leg.I was able to put some torque on the shoes when testing the traction. My gym has a pristine court; was able to stop on a dime. I absolutely adore the zoom on the forefoot. Exceptional!!!
I was blown away by the step in comfort! I expected the shoe to run a little narrow, but the sizing was true to size. I’m a bit disappointed in the traction however. I was expecting decent traction but unfortunately the traction is unpredictable. Good on concrete, but very unstable and lack of traction on all other surfaces. Overall comfortable shoe for casual wear, I would not recommend for performance due to lack of traction from sole.
Whats Not To Like. Lebron 17 in Red Carpet Red. Amazing looks in the Flesh and Out of all the Nike Air Trainers I collect these are still the Most Comfortable to wear. If I have one recommendation then its the same as the Proto Max 720 which is the Lebron 17 and Proto max are small fitting so go for a half size up to your usual size.
Bought these for lifestyle instead of on-court functionality. For this reason, I'd recommend half size up if you're just going to wear for walking/standing/grocery shopping. For actual basketball games, true to size would be the way to go. Fits better than Lebron 16s, feels like a great improvement from the former iteration. Despite having an actual tongue, fit is similar to Lebron 15s (which had the slip on style). Lacing system is tad bit hard, but once loosened/tightened, you won't have to adjust it again. Great job nike!
The LeBron 17 is an excellent performer. The Cushion is amazing, the material is really high quality, a soft knit. Traction however took a long time to break in but when it did it was amazing as well. It sits very high off the ground, court-feel isn't the greatest but its good enough. Stability is compromised by how high it is but its adequate. However do not take these outdoors, the rubber is very soft, thick, but soft.
I play guard position. It took me about a week or two to break them in.Fit: little heavy for guards but the cushion is amazing. (In my opinion, those are by far the most comfortable basketball shoes I have ever wore in my life. I've been playing basketball for over 15 years).Size: the shoes run true to size.(sizes really depends on how wide your feet are. if you have a narrow feet, your true size would fit big and if you have a wide feet, then your true size would fit small.)Traction: tractions mostly depends on humidity and how clean the floor is. (Personally, I did not have any problem on either dusty or clean court. I would give 9.5 out of 10)Overall, even though these are little pricey it made my feet feel not sore at all after playing for 2+ hours. I ... MoreI play guard position. I'm a huge fan of battle knit and the knitposite upper on these is a fantastic successor. It has that sock-like comfort while feeling more snug and secure than regular flyknit. The full length air and Zoom pods in the forefoot are extremely comfortable, while also giving an active "springy" feel. The black and red colorway is awesome and the Lion's Head and 23 on the tongue are great details that really pop.My only problem with these is the lacing system. I like to unlace and adjust how the shoes are laced, but the way the loops are constructed and built into the upper made that very difficult. It's also cumbersome to tighten and loosen the laces for this same reason.Overall though, the fit, cushioning, and style of this shoe is worth the price.
