It is very soft and provides a lot of protection against impact and worked well with the compression and impact resistance in the heel.The ankle support is great for a low top shoe. I've had Lebron's in the past and I've had some issues with the ankle protection. I know if I saw some guys running up and down the court, these are the sneakers I would be following. The color draws the eye. I did find the thick blue heel to be a bit much for me (although it does appear to provide more spring in my jump). However, I wore them all day long for three days straight and felt comfortable through my normal day. I would consider these as more of a casual sneaker worn for style than for physical activity involving running due to the ankle discomfort.My favorite feature is the arch support. My arches felt comfortable and cushioned in these sneakers. I normally purchase high arch inserts for my sneakers on the recommendation of my podiatrist for running but these provide as much, if not more support than my usual inserts.
