The plate helps force weight down and out while adding rigidity in the heel. That firmness helps you feel grounded and supported, specifically under heavier loads. The lace lock system attaches to the shoe tongue, so you don’t have to worry about latching it to any fabric. It helps keep your laces in place, so once you tie up, you can focus solely on your workout. It stretches from the midsole to the upper and adds some support in the upper for multidirectional movements. Lightweight, breathable mesh helps keep your foot cool yet sports the kind of durability that can withstand scrapes, slashes and quick-drag movements. Dual-density midsole—firm foam on the outside, soft foam on the inside—provides responsive cushioning for lasting comfort for continuous cardio and movements. Full rubber outsole provides durable traction for dynamic movements like cleans and walking lunges. Breathable textile has a haptic print, which creates a 3-D effect that adds durability and texture, helping make it easier to keep your shoes clean. Also, it sports flexible, durable support in the toe area, so that when your toes splay when lifting heavy weights, it won’t feel restrictive.

These are pretty standard shoes I have been using for indoor workouts and hiit workouts. Some plus: comfortable, the business minimalist styling, Velcro tabs to hold your laces in place (see pictures) and good traction. Some minor minuses: the forefoot styling makes it look like there is venting but it’s just styling and not functional, the side design cuts off the Nike logo. Minor aesthetic gripes aside, it’s a comfortable shoe.

These sneakers are amazing! They give you a solid base when walking and working out. They get more and more comfortable each time I wear them. They feel really durable and like they’re going to last a long time. The Velcro securing the laces feature is brilliant. I don’t have to worry about my laces getting loose during a working. The style is versatile so I can wear them with just about anything. I’ve received multiple compliments on the style and look and my response is “they feel even better than they look!”. This is my first pair of the Metcon line but it definitely won’t be my last!

I've been wearing Metcons for my heavy weight lifting days, especially during leg workouts. The flat bottoms allow you to really push off your feet properly when lifting. The shoes are the perfect mix of comfort, practicality and looks. They fit to size and are very durable. I've only purchased two pairs in the last 7 years because of how durable they are, and I am in the gym 4 days a week. While flat on the bottom, there still very comfortable to wear.

These shoes are great. I feel like they run a little bit big. When first wearing them, they did feel a bit stiff in the heel. As I wore them more, they loosened up a bit. I love the style of these; I feel like they look very unique and I haven't seen many sneakers like this. They are very durable; they have held up through many rounds of disc golf in thick and high grass, mud and water. I can tell they will last quite a while even after taking a beating.

I appreciated the sleek appearance of the shoe, as it made me feel more motivated and confident during my workouts. When it comes to comfort, the Nike Metcon 9 did not disappoint. The shoe features ample padding around the collar and tongue, which helped prevent discomfort and rubbing. Additionally, the mesh upper allowed for decent airflow, ensuring my feet stayed cool during exercise. The fit was snug yet comfortable, offering the right amount of support without feeling overly restrictive. As a beginner, I found the Nike Metcon 9 to be user-friendly. Putting them on and taking them off was a breeze, thanks to the traditional lace-up system. The shoe felt secure on my feet, providing a sense of stability during my workouts. I appreciated the simplicity and functionality of the design, as it allowed me to focus on my exercises rather than dealing with complicated shoe features.Although I lack experience in advanced training techniques, I found the Nike Metcon 9 to be more than capable of handling my beginner-level workouts. The shoe's traction was reliable, keeping me steady during light cardio exercises and basic weightlifting movements. The cushioning in the midsole provided a comfortable base, ensuring a soft landing when jumping or performing plyometric exercises. The flexibility in the forefoot allowed for natural movement and prevented any feeling of restriction. For a beginner like myself, the Nike Metcon 9 training shoes proved to be a solid choice. They provided the comfort, support, and ease of use that I was seeking in my fitness footwear. While I may not have fully tested their advanced features, I felt confident and comfortable wearing them during my workouts. The stylish design was an added bonus, making me feel more motivated to hit the gym. If you're new to working out and looking for a reliable and beginner-friendly training shoe, the Nike Metcon 9 is certainly worth considering.
The shoes are attractive. I received multiple unsolicited comments about how cool they looked. I have a wide foot and these shoes felt very accommodating. They are somewhat stiff with less padding than I would have preferred on the sides and bottom- could probably benefit from a gel insert. The rubber on the sole of the shoe felt a little stiff and was a little noisier on hard surfaces than a typical sneaker. The shoes felt a little more like a dress sneaker than a sports sneaker. I wouldn’t have wanted to run in them or participate in a sport while wearing them. That said, my feet did not hurt wearing them and didn’t irritate my ankles or toes. These shoes would be a good fit for someone who enjoys a nice looking sneaker.
My job requires me to be on my feet all day and run back and forth from one end of a building to the other. I usually peel off my shoes at the end of the day and rest my aching feet. These shoes are quite the game changer. I spent all day with them on, cycled home, and went for a run with little discomfort. They appear to be well made and durable, so we will have to see how long I take to run them into the ground (literally). The support is good and I think they are well suited to being worn for long periods of time. They’re also quite the attractive shoe and the black colour is very sleek. I don’t have any complaints. I can see myself buying these in another colour too.
Shoe is decent, a bit stiff and uncomfortable, almost like a weight-lifting shoe. The shoe has this big area to protect it from ripping when doing rope climbs, but my shoe actually ripped on the bottom of the shoe on the first rope climb workout I did (7 total rope climbs). The Nike return process isn't great - you send the shoes in at your cost, then you get a voucher for the retail of the shoes if it's approved. So you're stuck buying another pair of Nikes, which we already know rip when you climb the rope. This is the first pair of Nikes I've bought in about 8 years, and will definitely be the last.
I am primarily a runner (3-5 runs/10 miles per week) who is looking to get in some additional at-home cardio and strength training, and needed a solid shoe to help get me through backyard and basement workouts (primarily HIIT). The Nike Metcon 9 fit the bill. I expect a lot out of my shoes, and sometimes struggle to find something that balances comfort with strength. After a few weeks wearing these regularly, I think I've found a middle ground. It's so much different from the running shoes I'm used to working out in, and provides a lot more support than I was expecting. They look exactly as I expected them to when I ordered them.OTHER NOTES: I would not recommend these shoes for running due to the flat bottom. These are best for gym workouts.
Snug to comfy fit. I guess I just had to break them in. However, even during my first time wearing them I was still able to wear them for an entire shift (plenty of walking/standing) and not have foot pain.I love the sturdiness this shoe provides when weightlifting. The design also grew on me. however, I received compliments from different people before they started to look appealing.Overall, without originally being a fan of the Metcons, I’d give this shoe an 8/10.
