As someone who cross trains 5-6 times per week I’m always looking for a shoe that can keep up and hold up. The Nike Metcon 9 has exceeded all my expectations. The shoe fits true to size and feels so comfortable even after a grueling workout. My most favorite feature is the extra cushion in the ankle that functioned to keep the shoe snug and comfortable during long days in the gym. It also has an enhanced sticky surface around the arches that kept me extra secure while climbing a rope. Nike has perfected the lace lock mechanism to make sure a loose shoe lace won’t slow down your workout. The materials that go into this shoe are quality and outlasted the beating I put them through. The only thing I would change is adding a tab on the heel to make them easier to pull ... MoreAs someone who cross trains 5-6 times per week I’m always looking for a shoe that can keep up and hold up. Overall the quality and design of this shoe has impressed me. I can confidently say this is my favorite Metcon model to date.

FIT: The Metcon 9 PRM fits TRUE to SIZE. I have narrow to normal width feet, and they accommodate my feet just right a thumbs width of space up front to allow my toes to splay comfortably. If you have feet with a similar width, I would opt for your usual Nike sneaker size.FEEL: For their intended purpose of Strength Training, they offer good a amount of support while still being lightweight. I am a fan of how the upper mesh material feels against the top of my feet, as its breathable and allows ventilation when my feet warm up during a workout.DESIGN: Aesthestically, not only is the Metcon 9 a solid workout sneaker, it looks good enough to wear casually. I also like how the heel portion looks with all the striations.COLORWAY: This Metcon 9 PRM in particular has a very clean cw that stands out with the animal print underneath the white mesh simultaneously! I am concerned about how dingy they’ll get over time, as White, in general is a dirt magnet, especially on the cotton sockliner.FABRIC/MATERIAL: As stated earlier, the upper mesh makes me a big fan, as it’s breathable and flexes with the sneaker in a wide range of motion. As sneaker enthusiast, I tend to gravitate towards sneakers constructed of mesh, they’re easier to maintain and look in the long run.FINAL THOUGHTS: For its purpose, the Metcon 9 is a solid Strength Training sneaker. I’ve worn them mostly for my calisthenic workout with some weighted workouts thrown in. Since the cw is White, it’s expected for them to look dingy after a couple wears. If you care about that, you may look at more darker colorways. I think they are solid as is, however, if Nike added their reliable Nike Zoom Air technology in the forefoot of the sneaker, I would be more of fan! I just love that snappiness, especially at the forefoot for explosive movements. Otherwise, the Metcon 9 gets job/workout done and can pass a casual sneaker.

Metcon styles get worse and worse. I was excited to see an all white pair that I didn’t have to customize. Metcon 9s seem wider and chunkier than previous versions. The rubber blocks half the Nike symbol. I swear they look better online than in person. The rubber piece on the side is just terribly ugly, and the shoe itself almost feels cheap compared to my Metcon 8s. I will be returning. Please bring back old styles. Don’t change what is already good! These are so clunky I don’t even think the functional aspect would be the same!

I've always been a fan of the Metcon shoe line, so I was very interested in trying out this product especially since my current weightlifting and workout sneakers are in need of refreshing. When I first tried on the shoe, I noticed that it was a bit snug and on the smaller side, but settled in quickly. From there, this shoe exceeded every expectation that I had!!!! It's been great for all of my workouts and weightlifting without feeling loose or hindering movement. The fabric feels very comfortable on my feet and it seems to hold up well even with the most strenuous of workouts. If there's one thing, I would change about the product is that the shoe laces seem a bit on the short side and could be longer to help prevent untying. Other than that, I love this shoe and ... MoreI've always been a fan of the Metcon shoe line, so I was very interested in trying out this product especially since my current weightlifting and workout sneakers are in need of refreshing. I was so excited when I saw these! I’ve been doing weekly Apple+ Fitness workouts and admiring the shoes I notice the trainers wearing. It made me want shoes devoted to indoor exercise and these are perfect for that! I have flat feet so I tend to expect having to break shoes in. With these I didn’t need to do that too much. These fit well and are really comfortable! I use them during my strength training because they provide my feet with good grip to the ground (no slipping) and keep my feet stable. I am not too much of a fan of the design, but I love the colors/pattern because of there bright pop of color.
I was really excited to start training in these and they did not disappoint! The fit is true to size, and I didn't have to really break them in, I was able to start training in them immediately. They're SO comfortable. Also the GAME CHANGER here is the velcro tab at the top -- no need to lace up tight, and it basically makes the shoes a slip on for wearing everyday. So, so good.I've worn them for HIIT, walking, running, and to work (I work on sets and so comfortable shoes that you can actually lift things / move in are a MUST). They keep you feeling supported, they are easy to maneuver in, and they're light and easy to wear all day. This is actually my first time using this workout style of shoe. I’m used to using Nike running shoes for daily activities and working out, so I was intrigued to see how these would be.I love the lightweight feel of these and the center arch plate looks like it would give a lot of support. For sizing, these fit pretty snug and I would have opted to go half a size up for more comfort. The shoe itself is feels very flat and low to the ground. This was my favorite feature of the shoe. I felt very stable using them for light cardio aerobics, but I don’t know how they’d be for a pure running. The Metcons would be better used for weight training for how sturdy underfoot they feel. I just don’t do much of that as my main form of exercise so these shoes wouldn’t be for me ... MoreThis is actually my first time using this workout style of shoe. For general walking and casual use, these worked well and I plan to use them just for that.If your main training days are going to involve lifting, I could easily see how these could be your go to pair of shoes.
I have been a big fan of Metcons for a long time, and these new ones do not disappoint. I have a bit of a narrower foot and I really like how the heal is designed to keep your foot secure but the toe box area is still wide so you can do all different movements in the shoe.I was worried that the opening under the heel would be stiff when walking, running, or lifting, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was almost unnoticeable. I wasn't exactly sure how to use the velcro on the tongue but I used it to secure my laces which was a nice feature. I wonder what else you could use it for, but it was nice to not worry about tripping.Size-wise they did seem to run slightly small which was surprising because I have had the opposite experience with Metcons in the ... MoreI have been a big fan of Metcons for a long time, and these new ones do not disappoint. The stark white will definitely get dirtier the more I continue to wear these, but will just show how much work they have been through :)
These are solid athletic shoes for a variety of different activities. I think they make the most sense for use in the gym or for some sports like tennis or track, but you can also style them for daily wear. They are comfertable and provide a lot of supportive, especially on the heel and archway. They fit slightly small in my opinion and were a little tight when I first put them on. Next time, I might purchase a half size up from my regular Nike size. I do imagine they might loosen up a bit over time, especially if using them for work outs or daily wear. This shoe is mid-weight and the material is relatively breathable, but still feels on the chunkier side aesthetically.Design wise, these aren’t my favorite Nike silhouette, perhaps because I prefer a flashier shoe. ... MoreThese are solid athletic shoes for a variety of different activities. I’m not a fan of the rubber middle section, which obscures part of the Nike swoosh. I wish the shoe was a little less chunky and a little lighter. Because the swoosh is less prominent, I think this shoe is great for those that prefer shoes with less noticeable branding. While these shoes are personally not my style, they provide a good amount of support and would be great for athletes and those that spend all day on their feet.
