As a older sneaker head into J's and Nike retros, I also like a comfortable sneaker to work out in and something to grab and go for everyday errands. i think I found that in this shoe (DM0174-003). The fit is perfect with no heel slippage or scrapping. The feel is very cushy and responsive; it reminds of the 1st release of the Presto in the early 2000s. The addition of the 2 zoom air units in the heel and toe I can definitely feel especially with me standing for more than 4 hours in 1 place. The design is cool and modern looking, you can also tell that a lot of thought went into to people with sweaty feet lol because the breathability of this shoe is flawless. I really like the comfortability, lightness, stability and dual Zoom Air units. The only thing I would change are the color options, Nike only offers basic color options for this (I assume) popular model. Other than that i am more than pleased and my expectations were exceeded with this sneaker.

Fit/width - I’d like to start off by saying that the Pegasus line has always seemed to fit about a half size large in my personal experience and that seems to be the case here with the Pegasus 39. Personally, I prefer a little bit of room in my running shoes though, so I tend to go true to size instead of going a half size down. The extra room makes sure my foot stays comfy during longer distance runs when foot swelling starts to kick in. The particular pair I got is the extra wide version as well. The extra width seems to be more in the toe area than through the midfoot or the heel. I still felt nice and locked down in the heel thanks to the achilles collar which is nice and padded but didn’t seem to rub and cause discomfort. I still felt nice and locked down in the heel thanks to the achilles collar which is nice and padded but didn’t seem to rub and cause discomfort. I enjoyed the extra room near the toes, especially when running sprints and doing hard turns.Comfort/cushion - the comfort is top tier as expected. The Pegasus line has always been one of Nike’s most comfortable shoes in my opinion. They’re not overly cushy, but they’re a very nice mix of cushion and firmness which makes the shoe feel nice and stable while running and walking.Responsiveness/springy feeling - while running, the cushion was very recognizable. The forefoot zoom feels great underfoot and is more noticeable than the zoom cushioning in the heel. That being said, you can still feel plenty of cushion in the heel as well. The shoes feel very springy and responsive while running, and that seems to give a nice energy return with each step allowing you to run for longer distances while feeling less foot fatigue. I would have preferred for Nike to utilize react foam in the midsole like they have done on previous models. Besides that one complaint, these shoes are made really well.Materials/weight - the shoe looks chunky in pictures and is pretty substantial in hand, but they are very lightweight due to the materials used. The shoes seem to be constructed of mostly mesh with a fuse overlay. The shoe also utilizes flywire lace loops to help keep your foot locked in while also keeping the weight down. All materials used are great for running shoes because they keep the weight down but don’t sacrifice the durability needed while you put some miles on them.Traction - the traction seems to be an upgrade from previous pegasus models in my opinion. The tread is nice and thick, and the grooves are pretty deep allowing you to have good traction on whatever surface you like to run on. As I mentioned before, I run a lot of sprints which require me to stop and turn at a pretty fast pace. The tread held up very well on these and I didn’t feel any slippage at all.Overall thoughts - overall I’m very pleased with the Pegasus 39. The Pegasus line continues to be one of my favorite shoes from Nike for good reason. They’re hard to beat when it comes to a great all around shoe for any level of runner. If you’ve never had a Pegasus before this is a great one to start with, they’re ultra reliable and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at all with the Pegasus 39. I can’t wait to put some more miles on these and see how they hold up with added use!

I am a size 7 in men and these are true to size. The 4E width is perfect since my feet are wide. It gives me the right amount of space for things like walking and running. It’s gives my feet extra room on top as well so my feet do not feel trapped. If you have wide feet and/or if your feet swell up easily, then these are perfect. The soles are extremely cushioned which makes it feel like I am walking on clouds. The sneakers also have cushions around the ankles which offers great comfort as well as great ankle support. The sneakers have a mesh-like material on the top and sides which make them really breathable and don’t make my feet feel like they are suffocating. The mesh like material does make me wonder about the exterior durability, however. The inside of the sneaker has a different but very comfortable silky sock-like material so you don’t feel the exterior mesh material rubbing against your feet. It makes it easy for your feet to slide right on into the sneaker and it’s very comfortable! I really love the color scheme and the orange makes the sneakers pop which is great. I have worn these sneakers for hours at a time with no issues and I have very little to no arches! I have been able to walk and run in these sneakers and they have given me no issues. The comfort remains the same no matter what I do in them and that’s my favorite thing about them. The only thing that worries me about these sneakers is the exterior durability due to the mesh-like material. Other than that, these sneakers are fantastic.

From my first run these were my favorite shoes in my rotation. They perfectly match my feet and are the most comfortable running shoes I own. Reasonably light, foot turnover is effortless like they know what to do without my input. The heel to toe transition is smooth and easy. The upper is comfy, heel lock down is good, toe box is roomy. Very nice.In my rotation I have Vomero 16, Streakfly, Invincible 1, Invincible 2 and Brooks Adrenaline 21. I like the Pegasus 39 much better than the Vomero for everything. Those were fine, but a little too firm. These feel lighter, faster and more comfortable.I may run my next 10k in these.
I bought these sneakers a little over a year ago and don’t really care for them. I’d never owned a pair of Pegasus prior to purchasing these, but knew of their reputation in the Nike runner world and decided to try them out. I wear a size 8 in women (Nike no longer has the women’s Pegasus 39 posted) and the sneakers just felt too heavy on my feet during my long runs. Also, no ventilation and I found my feet would get really hot on runs. I tried to give myself some time with them, in hopes of adjusting and maybe growing to like them, but they are just not doing it for me. I DREAD putting them on :(I bounce between the Pegasus and an old pair of Lunarglides that I LOVE! So disappointed to find out Nike stopped producing the Lunarglide. As the title says this is one of my favorite Nike shoes. My other two pairs that I've had in the last 3 years included the Winflo 6 which I loved and the Winflo 8 which I did not. This shoe has a similar feel to a Hoka Arahi 6 but this shoe is more favorably priced. I've run in this shoe for about 6 weeks and have run about 45 miles in them as I alternate the shoe with a different pair. I also did my first 10K in them the other day I was very pleased. I tend to land more flat-footed and these have some very good cushioning mid and forefoot. I don't know if this shoe comes in wide and though I have a wide foot with a thinner sock these fit well. How much do I like these shoes? I might buy another pair in the next week or two because the 39 will be out of stock soon ... MoreAs the title says this is one of my favorite Nike shoes. Can’t beat the price. Get all black. Won’t dirty easy. The black pair material is actually more like a shiny grey anthracite color in the sun and make them really pop. I see there are more comfortable options out there but these look more like your everywhere everyday type shoe. And the softness is definitely better than what I was wearing before. Also they say the 39 is softer than the 40 and look better. Took 2 days for the zoom/react foam to really break in. Definitely little to no or less pain after a full days work. Which was all I was looking for. I see people say the invincible run 3s is really like walking on a cloud or even other shoes are more comfortable but the style of those usually lean more towards a runners shoe and look too goofy for me and usually ... MoreCan’t beat the price. You don't have to run everyday to enjoy the comfort of a running shoe. A lot of us are on the go constantly, for me especially. The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 39 is one of the lightest shoes I've worn. Whether I'm running around just before shift getting groceries for the fireststion, or I'm hustling to and from my sons soccer game. I always seem to find myself in a running shoe. The entire shoe is balanced and hugs your foot in all the necessary spots making you feel like your walking on a plush rug at home in your favorite socks. I work long shifts and the last thing I want to have is sore feet on your off days. The entire shoe is balanced and hugs your foot in all the necessary spots making you feel like your walking on a plush rug at home in your favorite socks. I work long shifts and the last thing I want to have is sore feet on your off days. The shoes construction is made up of a breathable nylon which keeps your feet nice and dry and wicks water away on rainy days. The upper is paired with a white sole that absorbs impact very well and has a very aggressive tread pattern. Think all season tire tread, it has different patterns by the forefoot, heel and outer. Its really versatile and adaptable on smooth or loose surfaces. The heel tab where the tradition pull tab is located is slightly curved outward to allow your foot to glide right in with zero effort, because I can confidently say we all hate when the back collar of our shoe collapses into the heel when we try to get our shoes on in a hurry. Then you have to fold it back out and the shoes inner lining gets all bunched up and what should have taken 3 seconds is now turning into minutes. Would I look for a Pegasus shoe in the future yes, and would I recommend it to my friends, I already did. Did I take off my shoe and hold it up with my pinky through the lace loop to shoe how light it was to the guys in the station, yes and they were shocked and I was left with one shoe on for about 5 minutes as one guys passed to the other and so on because they couldn't believe how light it was!The only thing I would change would be a more neutral color palette. The shoes are a sea foam green clashing with a smoke grey with a safety orange nike swoosh. I added a photo to this review and at first your going to say well that doesn't look like a great photo but it's an important photo, because when you look down that's what your going to see. The flashy pictures of people jogging through a long mountain road mid stride smiling ear to ear like you they just shared the funniest joke of all time, or the classic " let's stretch right by this incredible view" as everyone does on social media.... let's face it your looking ahead of you and this is what your going to see. I chose to focus on the toe box because I have a 4E. Thats right 4 wide. I was hesitant when I first pulled them out of the box but after wearing I'm a believer. The wide toe box is so roomy without the feeling of the shoe falling off. Anyone with a wide footprint this is the one for you. You'll thank me later.
Let me be clear right up front: I am a massive fan of the Pegasus. This is probably my 6th or 7th pair at this point. I just made a Nike ID of the 38 a few months ago, and I thought Nike couldn’t make this shoe any better, but here they go proving me wrong once again. This shoe is SO COMFORTABLE! I know “walking on a cloud” sounds cliche in a shoe review, but it absolutely does. The addition of a Zoom Air bag in the heel, along with the ultra-cushy yet supportive React foam is truly a match made in heaven. This shoe will take a beating and keep on ticking. It’s absolutely good for hundreds of miles. At the same time, I love just wearing it around to walk the city, run errands, stroll in the park, etc. It’s perfect for any occasion, and looks great while working out ... MoreLet me be clear right up front: I am a massive fan of the Pegasus. At the same time, I love just wearing it around to walk the city, run errands, stroll in the park, etc. It’s perfect for any occasion, and looks great while working out or being casual. This was also my first foray into actually wearing a wider shoe, and as a lifetime wide footer who loves Nike retros and frequently has to size up to get my fav to fit, let me just say I was blown away by the fit. It fits true to size, but it was a revelation in comfort. I’ve literally never experienced a shoe that didn’t pinch my foot at least a little bit. The fact that the Peg comes in a 4E means anyone who loves to run can have a comfortable ride. Additionally, they really focused on the details on this shoe. The mesh material feels heavy duty yet extremely light. It retains its shape well and offers a really nice level of support without being bulky. I thought the Peg 38 had a perfect tongue, but the 39 has upped the ante around the ankle area and feels really really nice. It hugs the top of your ankle in such a way that you almost don’t feel it, and that’s the highest praise I can pay to any shoe. I love the Peg and this is no different. Congratulations Nike, you’ve managed to outdo yourselves once again. Bravo!
The Nike Air zoom Pegasus 39 is without a doubt one of the best pair of running shoes you can find today. Admittedly I have been fond of the Pegasus line for 10 years now, was even professionally sized and fitted for running sneakers and was pointed directly to the Pegasus 29 in the lovely Volt colorway. That model was so durable I didn’t need to buy running shoes until now, and was extremely excited to see how the technology has advanced since. The Air Zoom Pegasus 39 features two of Nike’s Air Zoom units in the heel and forefoot, and after wearing them myself I was surprised it wasn’t a full cohesive unit based off of how supportive it feels with each part of your step! I have a couple different Nike Basketball models with full length strips of Zoom and the Pegasus 39s easily feel the most responsive in terms of controlled shock absorption and energy return in your stride. The best part were the days I had to drag myself to my treadmill, I’d be in an awful mood not wanting to start my run, take my first steps with my Pegasuses and immediately remember how light and bouncy the shoes are, making my run a joy instead of a chore! I even found myself extending my times, wanting to keep going when I’d normally call it a day. The one drawback I could find was the back collar, as padded and soft as they feel, seem to be lower than I’d like on my ankle. This is a personal preference of liking a shoe that rides up slightly higher so my foot feels a bit more confined and less like the shoe is at risk of sliding off, but I still have to stress it’s barely a problem. To top off the wonderful running sneaker, you have the comfortable Flywire material that feels supportive yet sock-like, conforming nicely to any foot. Which brings me to the best added bonus! These shoes being offered in 4E for wider feet like myself. I often end up having to size up and then dealing with shoes too long, but this time Nike hit the spot! I can fit in my desired size without feeling squeezed in and rubbing up against the sides of the material! Overall amazing shoe that brings back my passion for running and staying on my feet!
