My first initial thought once getting the Nike ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 out of the box was the sleek yet stand out design and ALL THAT FOAM. Once getting it on feet it felt as comfortable and welcoming as putting a glove on. This shoe is meant for hiking in mind however it is also just a great overall everyday shoe. Going to to the store, going on a walk at my local dog park or even just a nice change of shoes from my normal Jordan’s or Dunk lows! The shoe feels well put together overall. At first glance the carbon fiber-esque overlay on the inside middle of the shoe doesn’t seem like it would do much but as someone who has wider feet naturally it helped keep my foot compressed and on the bed of the shoe where it should be. Maybe a thicker loop or removal of the strap for other features or design would be my suggestion.Overrall however I feel extremely fortunate I was able to wear these shoes first hand and try them on. It’ll definitely be my contender when it comes to any future hiking, trail or everyday shoe!

I had never heard of this sneaker and when I got them wanted to know what others think only to find that this sneaker has a cult following and for good reason. This sneaker is perfect for everyday wear and for running. When I first got this, I wanted to see how they would wear when you have a very laborious job which includes lifting heavy things and crawling in weird spaces and being on your feet for 10 hours and these shoes were taking the heat. I also wore them on a run with my partner and I am always nervous about knee pain, and it felt like i was running on a cloud. I like the new version of the pull tab, it's a type of rope which is very helpful if your hands are slippery. They are true to size, and I would recommend to everyone.

The fit and feel of the shoe was great right from the box. When I first put them on, I thought they would need to be broken in but the feel was great. Sturdy yet soft if that makes sense. The design is great and the hook on the end makes the practical to put on and off. Esthetically, they are easy on the eyes and blend well with whatever you are wearing. The fabric was good. On my run at the beach, there were some puddles and the fabric held up well. I used them at the gym as well and during my workouts they held their own.The shoe overall impressed me as it provide comfort and support. The color accents and materials were great and they have held up to my runs and workouts. I would maybe make them all black or make the sole a bit darker. Overall, it is a great shoe

The shoes fit really nice and true to size. They are actually a lot more comfortable than I initially thought when opening the box. I really enjoy them! The design is great in terms of function. However, they aren’t the nicest shoes I have seen. The design could be improved a bit. The fabric is really nice. The shoes look and feel very durable which is what I love about them. I feel like they are very versatile for many activities whether they take place indoor or outdoor. What I like most about the shoe is how comfortable they are. They also offer a lot of support. The only thing I would change is the designs on the shoe. While the shoe is nice it can definitely be improved. Perhaps more colors within the shoes. Different fabrics to make it unique looking.
Right out of the box, the Nike ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 is an awesome looking shoe. The color scheme is sleek and the fabric keeps it light and modern. The heel isn't huge as you often find with other running shoes. The shoe itself fit really well and is true to size. I often struggle finding running shoes that have a wider toe box but there was the perfect amount of room with these amazing shoes. As an avid hiker who often enjoys a trail run, I felt these shoes would be a perfect addition to my closet. Now, I have to be honest. Although I rated these shoes 5-stars, I would like to say that after I put them on for the first use, I would have initially rated it 3-stars. I didn't have much confidence in the spongy support and feel. Actually, I was nervous to take them on the trail as I felt like I would roll my ankle after stepping on the slightest uneven ground. However, I'm glad I waited to review these because that feeling went away by my third time on the trail. And to tell the truth it was more likely the second use but I was being a little paranoid and overly cautious still. The shoes is primed for running and has a slight raise to the heel. This stance accompanied with the ReactX support makes it feel as if you are running on springs that are propelling you faster! You have fantastic heel and mid-sole support in these shoes. I don't know if I have found anything I don't like about the shoe at this point. I am very curious about their durability as my previous trail running shoes don't usually last a full year but I guess we'll have to wait and see.Overall I absolutely love these shoes! So much so I've begun wearing them as my everyday, everywhere shoes, replacing another personally trusted brand. They have become an obsession.
The Nike ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 are a great concept. I really like the soles of the shoe. It provides me with plenty of grip on the trails. When on a flat surface, the soles seem a bit soft to my liking; however, I took into account that this may be for the reasons of climbing, so they can conform to the terrain. The fabric seems to be very durable and easy to clean. The shoe felt as comfortable as the Pegasus I run in and gave me the same confidence when I laced them up. I like the little details throughout the shoe because I love the great outdoors. Where I got the best use out of the shoe was on a hike in the mountains and riding the bike on the trails. The soles made my feet feel secure on the pedals and in the rock areas of the trails. If I had to change ... MoreThe Nike ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 are a great concept. If I had to change anything, it would be to make the sole on the heel's right side a bit more ridged for transitional support, It feels mushy and unstable.
I have purchased and worn many different Pegasus models in the past, my biggest gripe with previous models was how they fit. I'm a mens size 13, however for some performance Nike running shoes I have to size up to a 14 because I have wide feet. I'm happy to say that the Nike ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 fit very well from my first impression. The shoe didn't feel like it needed to break in or anything like that, which is a nice change.I used these shoes in various scenarios which are as follows: walking the dogs, jogging, and hanging out socially with friends. I'm happy to say that these sneakers worked well for all 3 occasions.I'll start with dog walking - The shoes were comfortable from the very first time I put them on. I'm happy to say that these sneakers worked well for all 3 occasions.I'll start with dog walking - The shoes were comfortable from the very first time I put them on. The drawstring on the heel is a nice touch to help get my foot in easier, but doesn't get in the way at all. One thing I noticed however, was that my ankle felt like it was a little higher than normal. This caused mild concern at first, just because these are trail/hiking shoes and I wouldn't want to roll an ankle on uneven land.Despite this, they fit very well, and the placement of my ankle/heel didn't cause any issues. This sneaker has the Nike React midsole, and the back part of the midsole is a little thicker than the front. My guess is to give you the feel of the shoe pushing you forward as you are running, but overall, a good start. Now for the real test which is running/jogging - I typically jog in parts of my neighborhood both on and off the street, so I vary from the street/sidewalk to gravel/dirt/mud etc. These did excellent for both scenarios. The outsole is designed for the trail (hence Trail in the name) and I'm happy to say that they perform great off-road. The initial worry of my ankle placement didn't bother me as much. It may just be my imagination, but it felt like the shoe began molding to my foot. The shoes are very light, so I didn't feel like they were bogging me down, however they still feel durable despite being lightweight. The fabric/materials on the upper of the shoe are flexible but also resilient. Sometimes lightweight running shoes feel like they are going to fall apart the moment something happens outside of a perfect scenario (perfect scenario meaning like running on a clean, well maintained track on a beautiful breezy day), but not these. They were breathable and lightweight, but also durable and got the job done.Final scenario which is just hanging out - I went to a friend's BBQ the other day cooking food and talking with friends. Sometimes performance sneakers only really work well for...performance, not for everyday tasks or just social hang out sessions. These passed the test with ease. Very comfortable, I had no issues at all, and was a good choice cooking in the backyard in the Florida sun.Overall, these are great sneakers for everyday use. If you like running/jogging outside go with these. If you like taking care of errands that require shoes, go with these. If you want a comfortable shoe straight out of the box without any break in period that is comfortable and flexible but also durable for whatever you end up doing, go with these. If I had to be critical on this shoe, I'd say once again the placement of my ankle/heel took a little getting used to, and the other thing is that these are not very stylish. They are perfectly fine for what they are, but you aren't turning any heads wearing these. That being said, this isn't a shoe you get for style points, this is a multipurpose sneaker for everyday use.On a scale of 1 -10, I rated the shoe based on style, fit and performance:Style - 5/10 (average)Fit - 8/10 (great)Performance - 10/10 (legendary)Overall I believe this is a great multipurpose sneaker, I would give it an overall rating of 8/10.
Took the Nike Pegasus Trail 5's out on my normal 20k trail run, mix of forestry and rough track, mud in places, tree roots and loose rocks. They are super comfortable and have loads of cushioning, enough toe protection and good stability. The one big flaw is the softness of the sole, you can feel stones and rocks through them and it becomes pretty uncomfortable. My normal trail shoe is Brooks Cascadia 17 and they, albeit are less cushioned, were more grippy and you don't feel every bump and stone underfoot. The Nike's struggled a bit in muddier parts and I wasn't overly confident in their ability to stay planted.I'd say more of a hybrid shoe than a dedicated trail shoe and definitely not one for the wetter trails. I'll be sticking with Brooks or maybe the Hoka ... MoreTook the Nike Pegasus Trail 5's out on my normal 20k trail run, mix of forestry and rough track, mud in places, tree roots and loose rocks. This is one of the best running and hiking shoe out. It offers excellent traction on various terrains, a comfortable fit, and durable construction that can withstand tough outdoor and indoor conditions. Whether you're hitting the trails or going for a long run, this shoe will provide the support and performance you need. I definitely enjoy wearing these on my everyday walk/run as well as just normal casual wear. These shoes were way more comfortable than I thought they would be. The color way on these shoes are also amazing and can go with practically any or everything. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking for a shoe for comfort, running, walking and hiking.
I already own a pair of Pegs for indoor treadmill running so these were an easy adjustment for trail running/walking. These feel to have a little more cushioning which I can appreciate. They performed really well on the road too to my surprise. These grip EVERYTHING on the ground surface so if you appreciate the cleanliness of your home, leave them outside. They are easy to wipe down and shake the dirt off of them. The grip serves as great feature to keep you feeling stable on uneven and slippery surfaces. These feel true to size and super comfortable. They have a really nice springy feel to them- ready to keep you propelling forward. Time will tell if they can really go the distance.
