I love the element 55, because of its comfort. When I first tried it on, I was in heaven. When you are on your feet 24/7, this is the right sneaker. You feel as though you are walking on air. The only problem I have with the element is that the finished product was not appealing as the clue appear to be coming through on the material; it looked as though the worked was done sloppy. I returned my first online purchase to the Nike store in Manhattan and showed the representative. I then re-ordered the sneaker 1/2 size up and it didn't look bad. I'm a Nike customer at heart, and I do inspect all my sneakers I purchase, and I will continue to be a loyal customer.

Comfortable! Would really recommend.

I’m usually a 10.5 but had to get this in a 10 and they for perfectly. They are very VERY comfortable. Great for long walks and being on your feet for long periods like a trip to Disneyland for example. They’re a bit hard to get on because the upper material is this and the tongue is flimsy (but sturdy leather) but overall super comfy and light. The material makes them breathable too.

Some people buy a certain brand without reading the details. I thought I did my reading but what I gave up was comfort. Good fit, like the colour but wish the insole was more comfortable. The ASICS I run in fit totally different. I owe Brooks, Sacouny, Newton, and Adidas. But Nike is me. I have over 50 pairs of running shoes and run 60 miles a week. Thanks.

Great lightweight shoe
25 April 2019

Unbelievably light and cushioned shoe. The closest thing to being barefoot. Excellent cushioning, especially in the heel. Runs a bit tight, so I ordered a half size larger. I like the regular insole on these as opposed to the cork in the 87's. Pretty decent support all around, especially in the heel. Takes some getting used to for running, have to be careful how you land each step. Best for flat roads and track jogging. One complaint is the tongue, which is just a piece of suede: it keeps folding and sliding down. I ended up tacking the tongues in a couple of places to keep them in place.

Great utility and comfort - with style!
3 August 2020

This shoe is great fun to wear in terms of comfort, stability, and style. Although this model is rather conservative in coloration it has a chartreuse swoosh that sets it off as NIKE design. I call these shoes my "dog poop" shoes because of the colored spots along the sides of the soles that provide a punctuation of sorts. All day comfort is assured! I'm not sure yet of durability but so far these are a favorite.

No padding
26 October 2021

Nike doesn't describe their shoes well. This show has good support, but the top is a very thin canvas-like material and the tongue is of similar material - no padding at all. So when you put this on, it is like there is nothing cradling your feet on top. - it's a very soft, unstructured top. I prefer shoes with both lateral support and padding so am returning this one.

Poor Craftsmanship
3 July 2019

I had purchased these shoes in mid April and by the beginning of June there was a hole in the toe of the shoe and the sole was completely shredded. I wore them on and off (3 times a week) and even with such minimal wear they began to fray. I have another friend that had the exact same problem as myself and we shared similar problems. For the two months they were in good condition I enjoyed them. They fit well and looked nice, however I wouldn't recommend buying a shoe if you are in the market for one that will go the distance.

Really comfy but ran a bit small
11 October 2019

Not sure if it was supposed to fit like a sock but it does when you go true to size. I went half a size up which does make it look a little big. I'm somewhat of a wide footer so maybe it'll fit better for others. I got atleast 10 compliments the first time I wore them outside (Half purple half blue colorway btw) The material for everything else than the sole is like a paper. The material is insanely thin and flexible. I played basketball in them a couple times and the traction is trash. DO NOT play ball in these cause it feels like a slip and slide. Shoe has minimal support but personally doesn't bother me. Good shoe mad city

Terrible quality and craftsmanship
12 September 2019

I had bought these shoes looking for a good looking comfortable back to school shoe. If I had know the terrible quality I would’ve never bought them. Within one week of regular wear I could already start to find the flaws. The midsole started to unattach itself from the upper mesh of the shoe. Then the worst of all the upper mesh ripped and left a huge tear during the fourth week I had them. All within less than a month it looked like I had them for over a year. The react sole is the only positive about this shoe because of the comfort. I would not recommend these low quality shoes.

Very Comfortable, Very Light. Loses Shape Easily.
25 February 2020

I've had these shoes for a couple months now and overall I'm really happy with them. The React foam has held up much better than I expected, and there's no significant visible wear on the foam. While the tongue is thin, I find it feels nice against my foot. This has made the shoe one of the lightest and most comfortable I can remember owning and it gives a nice bounce to each step. I also really like the style of them, its something unique but not gaudy. Though what outfits it works with is limited. After a month the foam has started to show wrinkles/creases in the mid-sole but this seems to be a natural part of the foam and unavoidable. The best way to hide it is black out-soles. The best way to hide it is black out-soles. The blob looking bits of the out-sole feel like regular rubber you'd find on most any shoe and have held up just as well. Despite not covering the entire bottom of the shoe they've done a good job of protecting the foam on the sole. The complaints I do have is that I wish the upper was more structured. The upper is a thin (but durable feeling) nylon type material, but it has no internal or external pieces to help keep its shape. The nylon is too light to hold itself up. This leads to the upper looking "collapsed" and it loses its shape when wearing them. I wish the upper had a little more structure so it could keep its silhouette better when being worn. If the shoe did a better job of this I'd have given it 5 stars. I also have an average width foot and they feel just barely on the narrow side but its nothing to dock points for.
