Go from road to trail and back in the Nike React Pegasus Trail 4. The Pegasus Trail 4 has Nikersquos React cushioning technology, a lightweight and durable foam that provides for a supportive and springy ride no matter the surface. A new traction pattern provides grip when you need it, but also allows for a smooth ride on the road. The rubber wraps up into the midsole to resist abrasion and increase durability. The upper is made to be breathable and support your foot. The Flywire technology is integrated with a midfoot band to help keep your foot in place on uneven surfaces. Nike used runner-informed data to create and place engineered mesh throughout the upper for a sturdy, lightweight and breathable shoe. Plus, there are extra skins across the toes to keep the fabric from wearing out. The Nike React Pegasus 4 will give you comfort and support on both the roads and trails.

I have been buying Pegasus from Nike for as long as I can remember - well over 20 years. When they stopped making them the way they should, they started making Pegasus trail shoes, which were essentially the same as the original Pegasus design. I don't run heavy trails, but rather groomed and grass trails and they are perfect for them. I have tried many other shoes over the years and always return to these.

I originally really liked this shoe. It has been very comfortable on trail runs and feels a bit springy. I am glad I waited a bit to review the shoe though. After only 60 miles of trail running, the tread has already started to delaminate and separate from the midsole. They are great if you only want a 60 mile shoe apparently. If you want something that lasts longer, get a different shoe.

Men’s shoes are normally a D width and women’s are a B width. These running shoes run narrow, because they are a B width. Bought for my husband and he couldn’t wear them. No return label was included in box, so I had to purchase a $130 label maker to return them. I am unable to drive, due to disability, so I couldn’t drive to the store to return them. I asked customer service if they could print the label and mail it to me and they refused. Disappointed.

I recently purchased the Pegasus trail runner. Glad to see Nick constantly improving the legendary Pegasus running shoe. Love the comfort and stability. I get from the aggressive tread pattern. Without sacrificing any flexibility. And I truly appreciate the built-in pronation control. The durable upper is great For trail, running, resisting snags and tears from stray branches that I might come across. And yet it waterproof or water resistant design allows for easy cleanup.
This is a great trail running shoe for the slow lazy days, through to the fast and technical. These are my go to option. The midsole is reactive, and the right firmness for a variety of surfaces; the shoe feels stable and like I am in control. Some trail shoes can feel unstable underfoot due to construction. The tread is aggressive enough for the muddy sections without being too soft and wearing away too quickly. Nike really has reached a sweet spot with this shoe.My only niggle (and this is really nit picking) is that when running over very lose dusty terrain the dust can make its way into the the outer and inner layer. This means for weeks after the run i leave a trail of sandy material.
Very comfortable. Finally improved the finger loop, you can actually put your finger through it this generation. Slight raised heel accounts forward leaning posture which naturally propels you forward feeling like a fast running shoe. Perfect balance of cushion for road/light trails. Very happy with this generation on the pegasus trail. Can not comment for the Gtx versions as I have not got a new pair of those yet, however my wife is happy with her new ones Gtx trail 4s. These non Gtx ones feel very different to my Gtx trail 3s. They are more comfortable, slightly more cushion and rebound, which I prefer. If there was a negative, the sole tread could be ever so slightly longer. I believe it will grind down very quickly after a few runs converting from road to train.
I've been wearing the Pegasus Trial for 4 years now. the very first shoe did not last very long but the changes makde to trail 2 and 3 actually fixed the shoe. I loved this shoe and they way it performed. NOW Nike went and changed the shoe again in the trail 4 version and it only took one run to make me want to throw them away. I went online and bough 5 of the trial 3 shoes so I can weather this change for a year or more. Maybe they will go back to what worked??????
I love these shoes. Perfect for my job as a PE teacher who sometimes works in the grass and sometimes on cement. They also work well on the trails. The react foam cushion is bouncy and stable. Smooth. I would never have chosen this color but the sale price was too good. It was such a great value and I loved the show so much that I went back and bought another pair as a backup.
I've run 1700 miles this year and used a lot of different shoes. I think these are my favorite. I have 420 miles logged on these right now and the foam is just starting to be less effective. The lockdown with Nike's flywire is great. There's something about the combination of a softer foam with a thicker, more rigid rubber sole that works really well. There's two minor considerations. One is if you run on trails with heavier rocks and you happen to kick one up you will feel it. There's not a lot of protection on top of the toebox. The second thing is the last two rubber pads on the heel of the shoe will tend to grab the trail. If you tend to strike on your heel that tread pattern may be too aggressive. Nike should probably round those leading edges so it doesn't ... MoreI've run 1700 miles this year and used a lot of different shoes. I think these are my favorite. For use on gravel or dirt roads, this shoe has me impressed. I worry most about a good, solid foundation that can help prevent those annoying slight-rolls and tweaks of a uneven surface. I am not running on hiking trails. This shoe, on the first run, proved itself to be stable for the unexpected stone or uneven footing. Road shoes can flop like a carpetbagger but these are sturdy yet comfortable. I am a fan
