The Nike Romaleos 4 weightlifting shoes are designed for strength and stability, and feature a supportive midsole and a wide, flat outsole. The athletic shoes include adjustable straps at the midfoot to deliver secure support. A rigid midsole with a heel lift enables optimal power transfer from the ground to support explosive movements. A wide heel creates a stable base for heavy lifts, while rubber tread provides durable traction to meet the demands of your sport.

Fantastic for weightlifting (squats, presses, hack squats). Fit is on point, my feet feel 0 slippage in these, great stability and yea, also looking good. Not amazing for anything else but legs day in gym, they suck for walking, they suck for a regular chest day for example, but they are fantastic for legs day. If you have the budget and you want a great shoe for your legs day only these are a must buy, if you are looking for a shoe that you will wear every day at gym and run errands in them then you might have to look for something different

Great ankle support, very good if you have mobility issues or previous injuries. Especially good if you’re working up to more weight. They are very heavy and feel like ski boots like others have mentioned, but if you read the name of the shoe… they are for weightlifting lol.. you need that support, definitely recommend.Very accommodating for wide feet as well, I did not have any issues with the arch supports as others have mentioned, they’ve also said they had to go up half/a size but I did not have to yet. I would recommend breaking them in first and seeing then if you need to. (mine arrived yesterday, took them to the gym today and had no issues. I wear 8.5 men/10.5 women, no tightness, was not uncomfortable, but will come back after a few weeks and update)

I have a background in powerlifting and I'm an avid Olympic Weightlifter now. I've trained in the Romaleos 2 ever since powerlifting and LOVE that shoe just like everyone else. I won't even mention the Romaleos 3.First Impressions of the 4: Narrow Arch with a bit of heel slippage. Odd front strap shape. Huge excessive and loud Swoosh on each shoe. HOWEVER, Great stability in squats, snatches and cleans. Shoe is a bit heavier than the 2's by a couple grams. It is a bit stiffer in midsole of the shoe so the bend is different than the 2's. Very durable materials in the straps and breathable mesh in the front of the shoe. True to size fitting. I have wide feet and have had no discomfort after wearing 1 week of training. I really can't complain with the shoe. The shoes are not heavy. Secure fit with straps. The laces don't stick to the straps and feel very durable. No issues with the toes. I get a lot of compliments (SE model of Romaleos 4).I power clean, deadlift, squat, press, and bench press with no problem. These are shoes specialized for lifting barbells, if you try hard enough you can use them for anything else but that would be like using sandals to climb mountains; you could but you're not going to have a good time.Nike made a dope shoe that mixes form with function in a cool and efficient way.
Don't get me wrong: this weightlifting shoe is great, and offers much stability during the heavy lifts. What gets me though, is that while they upgraded a bunch of individual parts of the shoe from its previous iteration, namely the flimsy tongue on the 3 to the more robust one on the 4 and the more durable TPU sole, I feel that they downgraded on the straps. Though they added the metatarsal strap which undoubtedly adds to the wearer's stability, the choice of material is questionable. I loved the seatbelt material on the 3, but the 4 feels a bit fake. Wish they kept that seatbelt. Otherwise this shoe is solid.
Brutal should be the 1 they deserve, but then it looks irresponsible and review doesn’t look trusted. I had glue overflow at multiple seems that were runs of overflowing glue. On the left shoe it’s from 1 inch (I measured) in front of the first strap and then it wraps all the way around the back to the other side of not just glue out the seems but then you can seem gaps where it’s not connected, so I can see what they were trying to achieve and it didn’t work. On the right shoe I have 2x 3 inch runs of glue and a few singular spots coming out the seems of the sole meets shoe. Then where it comes up on each shoe it gets on the cloth and then there’s random spots of glue on black cloth turned white. These shoes run small too, so I figured I’d just review comfort so I ... MoreBrutal should be the 1 they deserve, but then it looks irresponsible and review doesn’t look trusted. If you feel off balance when your train too much, then these will help you keep your feet flat and glued to the ground. I like my top notch shoes to also look respectable and to accept these would be insulting.
Nike seemed to have finally reclaimed the Romaleos after the disappointing 3s. Not sure they are as good (or better) than the 2s honestly, but so far I'm hopeful. Build, feel, and stability are all very similar to the 2s.My only gripe with these would be the sizing. I'm a 9 in every Nike, including all past Romaleos. Lots of people suggest going up half a size, but that didn't work for me. 9s feel a bit tight on my toes, but 9.5s give me far too much heel slip. Even with the straps cranked, I felt like I'd fall out of them in a split jerk.I think the design of the (narrow) toebox combined with the gigantic insoles can skew the sizing of these quite a bit. The insoles they come with are super thick and firm, it really squishes your feet into the shoe. I swapped ... MoreNike seemed to have finally reclaimed the Romaleos after the disappointing 3s. Hoping that, with some break in time will improve the feel.
Great for weightlifting but not much else. I was mainly looking for something to replace my old Superreps to continue my Insanity workouts and these were advertised as being good for cross-training, but they just aren’t. They’re extremely sturdy and excellent weightlifting shoes, they look incredible, but outside of that they’re far too stiff and heavy to be useful for cardio of any kind. Trading mine in for a metcon or alpha to try to find a suitable replacement for intense cardio workouts. The sizing suggestions are spot on. Order one half size/size up.
Before making my purchase, I did a lot of homework on these. Watched all the youtube reviews, reddit threads, forum comments etc. And I found that most were accurate with sizing. I normally wear 10.5 and at the time I ordered these, 10 was only available. I pulled the trigger thinking, I can always return them if they were indeed too small. I get the lifters in, and at first, they were tight (most reviews did state they ran small). I have a wide foot but after a few days lifting in them, they stretched out, which mitigated the heel slip issue many have complained of (tying the shoe laces tight and or strapping in the top strap all but eliminates that too btw)For the last year n a half, I have been lifting in Romaleos 2's which any lifter knows, is widely known to ... MoreBefore making my purchase, I did a lot of homework on these. They breath better, better overall comfort in my opinion. The heel is a little taller than the 2's and also have a bit more arch, but I got used to it within less than a week. I train in Olympic weightlifting 5 days a week, for those curious. Highly recommend
Firstly let me say, I’ve used the Legacy Lifters and I wear a 10 for all shoes except converse. Secondly, my feet are wide. My arches aren’t flat and these fit snug but as snug as they’re supposed to. Weightlifting shoes are meant to he worn on the platform and meant to fit snug. While these don’t exactly break in, they do take shape of your feet after a while. Don’t size up or size down. Weightlifting shoes aren’t mean to be worn for hours for your bodybuilding workouts. They’re meant for specialized movements and I’m happy with my purchase so far. I’m glad I ordered my usual size. There is some heel slip but for those who upsize. Remember, this is coming from a wide toed guy who’s squatting everyday.
