The Nike Romaleos 4 weightlifting shoes are designed for strength and stability, and feature a supportive midsole and a wide, flat outsole. The athletic shoes include adjustable straps at the midfoot to deliver secure support. A rigid midsole with a heel lift enables optimal power transfer from the ground to support explosive movements. A wide heel creates a stable base for heavy lifts, while rubber tread provides durable traction to meet the demands of your sport.

Fantastic for weightlifting (squats, presses, hack squats). Fit is on point, my feet feel 0 slippage in these, great stability and yea, also looking good. Not amazing for anything else but legs day in gym, they suck for walking, they suck for a regular chest day for example, but they are fantastic for legs day. If you have the budget and you want a great shoe for your legs day only these are a must buy, if you are looking for a shoe that you will wear every day at gym and run errands in them then you might have to look for something different

I have a background in powerlifting and I'm an avid Olympic Weightlifter now. I've trained in the Romaleos 2 ever since powerlifting and LOVE that shoe just like everyone else. I won't even mention the Romaleos 3.First Impressions of the 4: Narrow Arch with a bit of heel slippage. Odd front strap shape. Huge excessive and loud Swoosh on each shoe. HOWEVER, Great stability in squats, snatches and cleans. Shoe is a bit heavier than the 2's by a couple grams. It is a bit stiffer in midsole of the shoe so the bend is different than the 2's. Very durable materials in the straps and breathable mesh in the front of the shoe. True to size fitting. I have wide feet and have had no discomfort after wearing 1 week of training. Definitely would recommend the 4's if you loved ... MoreI have a background in powerlifting and I'm an avid Olympic Weightlifter now. It's slowly winning me over with every session.I would buy another pair if Nike went with an all black design including the Swoosh or an all white including the Swoosh.

Amazing for the gym, I'm 6'6 220 pounds and my ankle mobility is terrible so i just used these to get depth on barbell squat and also hack squat, however i don't recommend driving or in general walking around in these, and out of the box these shoes are extremely stiff. But aside from that they are really good weightlifting shoes.

This is a great shoe - the quality, construction and durability are all fantastic! But, the heel height is 20mm, so this is very good for people that need help with additional heel flexibility to hit depth on squats. The heel was too high for me personally, it would push me forward putting more emphasis on my vastus medialis and less glutes which would basically mimic a front squat and not a back squat. I wasn't able to squat as much, and as a powerlifter - the change in heel height effected my strength. Again, great shoe for the right person but I still prefer squatting in my Metcons which have a 4mm heel lift.
Nike seemed to have finally reclaimed the Romaleos after the disappointing 3s. Not sure they are as good (or better) than the 2s honestly, but so far I'm hopeful. Build, feel, and stability are all very similar to the 2s.My only gripe with these would be the sizing. I'm a 9 in every Nike, including all past Romaleos. Lots of people suggest going up half a size, but that didn't work for me. 9s feel a bit tight on my toes, but 9.5s give me far too much heel slip. Even with the straps cranked, I felt like I'd fall out of them in a split jerk.I think the design of the (narrow) toebox combined with the gigantic insoles can skew the sizing of these quite a bit. The insoles they come with are super thick and firm, it really squishes your feet into the shoe. I swapped in thinner insoles and the 9s felt a tad better. Hoping that, with some break in time will improve the feel.
Velcro has been fine. I use them twice a week for legs day only. They strap tight enough to make your feet numb. The insoles are rock hard too. They are so solid and inflexible that they are impractical for anything other than leg exercises. They clip when you walk. They are absolutely not comfortable, but they aren’t supposed to be. They change the way lifts feel bc they alter the lines of the lift. I won’t type out the physics of that, but it is noticeable and puts more focus on anterior chain muscles. The colors (white/pink/orange) are bright and fun.
Order a larger than normal size. Im a 13 and I ordered a 14 based off of other reviews. Sturdy and I feel like I have a stronger base. This shoe is definitely going to help my squat form and base. Super steady heel that will not rock side to side during leg workouts. Love this shoe.
I used the size guide and then ordered a half size up, but they’re still too small. I’ll exchange for a FULL size up from my normal shoe size, but I’m just disappointed in the hassle. The shoes seem like they will be great, but I’ll update when I get the right size in and actually get to use them!
Trained in Nike Metcon 5's and I rate these, but just took the plunge and got these beauties today (Romaleos 4). Wow, these are what everyone is talking about....I have a narrow foot and when I first slipped them on, it was just a perfect fit (Metcon 5 is just a tad on the wide side for me and my foot can slip around a bit when the weight is increased). These are ROCK SOLID and with the raised heel, it truly makes my squats feel 'planted'. I have long legs, so I need every bit of an advantage to properly squat with form. These 'will be' my GO TO shoes for all heavy compound lifts which require both feet to be planted to the ground with no foot movement. Yes, they are expensive but believe all the hype, get a pair and you'll understand. These are the NBA Jams of weightlifting. “Is it the shoes?!” Yes. Yes, it is. I swapped my Metcoms out for these and added 20lbs to my DL and squat the first time I threw them on. I was able to get lower in the squat and they are super stable. They remind of ski boots when I walk around. Not exactly that bad, but these shoes are used to glue your feet to the floor. I love them. I’m a 13 in other Nikes. Ordered a 14. Fit great.
