They aren't designed for intense jumping, running, etc. And if you hike, you'll sense the rocks and other bumps and textures under your foot.They are probably excellent for skateboarding (though I am not a boarder). And they are great for comfortable, casual wear at home, running errands, and walking when you want the minimum weight with no clunkiness.Think of the "clunkiness" rating as a scale between 1 and 10, where 1 equals barefoot and 10 equals knee-high, heavy boots. These shoes would be a 2 and basketball shoes would be a 4 or 5.Conclusion: The Chron 2 shoes are excellent for light, comfortable fit in a casual setting.

Best Nike's since the SB Dunks

This is my second pair of Chron 2's. I absolutely love the fit and canvas material the shoe is made of. These are slightly different than my first pair as they also have some great looking suede. Not only is this pair stylish they are also amazingly comfortable. I used to buy SB dunks all the time and this is the first shoe that genuinely replaces those for me. If you have never owned a pair of Chron 2's I highly recommend giving them a try!

Comfortable Casual Shoe

I got this as a casual shoe, but it's worth noting that it is marketed as a skate shoe. I wouldn't recommend buying these for that or anything athletic, as the lateral support isn't good enough in my opinion.However, as a daily shoe, it's roomy and comfortable to wear and walk around in. If you have trouble with your feet, you might want something with more structure/support, but if you don't your feet won't feel compressed at the end of the day nor sore after a long walk.The styling is good, but you can judge that for yourself. I'm not a huge fan of the recycled rubber look in the midsole, but it's pretty subtle. The maroon color looks good and versatile.Quality of materials and construction is good. Haven't noticed any manufacturing flaws.

Comfortable, stylish, durable shoes

These shoes are amazing and are 100% my new favorite shoe. I love the design of this shoe - it’s low profile and and fits my feet nicely. Plus I love the maroon color and coordinating tan bottoms. They were incredibly comfortable right out of the box and needed no break-in period. They are great for all day wear! They have held up well to daily wear/use for a couple of weeks now and I don’t see any signs of wear and tear. Honestly I love everything about these shoes and would change nothing. I will wear these shoes until they’re worn out - they are literally that comfortable.

Favorite shoe

These are my absolute favorite shoes of all time. I have them in 3 colors and plan to buy additional colors in the future. They are so comfortable, durable, and look great with any outfit (dressed down, dressed smart, with pants with shorts).I wish they made this version of the Chron (suede) in the Pilgrim color! Please don't ever stop making these - I plan to be a lifetime buyer!

Feels broken in on first wear! So comfy!

Admittedly, I have not been on a skateboard in 20 years, but these Chron 2 Skate shoes are a great product. As soon as I slipped them on, they were already comfortable. They have a very nice padded insole that gives the shoe a broken in feel. They fit true to size. I have a wider foot, but my regular size was still perfect. I really like the look of the suede, but I live in the north and suede will easily get salt stains, making this a summer/fall only shoe for me. They have grippy treads and I really like how flexible the sole is, it makes it easy to run after my kiddos. The sides of the sole have a cool tan recycled rubber look, which I think gives it some big style points. It looks great with the maroon upper shoe, much better than white or black would. My new go to skate shoe

For years on years I have been using Janoski as skate and everyday shoes. The only problem I really had with the was the slimness of them. I have a bit wider foot.So it would always be 2 weeks of pain breaking in the shoes. Then I came by the Nike Chron, witch was just wide enough to have no pain out of the box. Some of the Chrons have canvas fabric, witch makes them breathe really good on a hot summers day. I also really like the the support around the ankles isn't to high up on the knuckle.But the best part of the shoe is the skate insole, witch is designed to take the beating skateboarding hands out. This has become my new go to shoe, whether it be skating or everyday life walking around the city.

The gum sole looks like it might be made from recycled rubbers from other shoes which is really cool. Reduce, reuse, recycle. But it did have me concerned on how it would hold up to the thrashing against my grip tape. I can say with certainty that these will hold up just as well if not better than any other skate shoes. That and with the hip pattern on the sole of the shoe that really stick to the board.
