I've been getting back into running more and while I no complaints with with my current rotation of shoes, I've heard good things about the Next %3 and figure I would give it a try. The upper consists of a very thin flyknit, which is both a pro and a con, and all the rest of the weight is in the mid/out sole.Speaking out the midsole, ZoomX is probably the most comfortable cushioning I've ever had in a shoe. The step-in comfort is immediate; the moment you put these on, you can tell this is something different. This is my first experience when wearing a shoe with ZoomX and I now know that I have been missing out.Running in these have been such a great experience. You bounce in these when running so every step springs for forward making the runs I had in them seem easier. I was nervous at first because I did have room calf fatigue the next day after going on my first run with them on, but I think that was just a issue with my training as subsequent runs left me with no issues.I haven't really gotten the chance to test these with a very fast pace as my runs are around a 8:30 pace per mile, so I look forward to seeing how these perform when I really start to increase my tempo and distance in the coming months.I'll end this some a more things I liked and some concerns I have about these long term. The cushion inside the heel of the upper leads to there being no heel slippage while wearing these and added comfort. The wide forefoot helps with the stability so you won't feel wobbly while running. I mentioned that the flyknit upper was both a pro and con; were it helps greatly reduce the weight, I'm worried about the durability of it. It also will not be good with in winter months as your feet will be cold when wearing these. I'm also concerned about the durability of the outsole as there's there isn't much rubber on the shoe so I can see the ZoomX wearing down quickly. I will have to keep an eye on this. The shoelaces becoming undone were also a bit of an issue for me. Single knots become undone all the time and you have to tie these very tight in order to double knot, leading me to worry about how uncomfortable my forefoot and ankle would be in them. It turned out to be not that much of a problem for me, but this is something to keep in mind.Overall these are a very good and I will be putting as many miles as I can in them. If they are in your budget, don't hesitate to pick them up.

The only thing I would probably change about the shoe is adding a bit more protection in the heel portion of the sole because that exposed foam cushioning has already shown signs of deteriorating and will probably be gone after more running is done. With that addition, I believe that that could help the shoe last longer. Overall, this is an amazing running shoe created by Nike and I would definitely add this to the rotation for both casual runners and maybe even serious runners as well.

I liked that the shoe laces had texture and ridges so that the its less likely to become untied when walking/running. The tongue of the shoe has a padded portion towards the medial side and is wide enough that it covers part of the foot so your foot wont rub against the shoe (preventing blisters). The vamp is slightly angled off to the side making it little more stylish and sophisticated. The shoe is made with a mesh-like material, making it very lightweight, quick to dry, breathable and easily cleaned. Though it does have open holes in the mesh which allows your sock to show through, you can still wear it with any color sock. These are super light, super springy, energy-returning, and performance-enhancing race shoes.Seasoned distance runners will have their well-formed opinions and preferences on race shoes but I will speak from the perspective of runners who are new to the super shoes. They are so light that you hardly feel any weight, as if your feet are just sitting on top of cushions. They keep you on your toes literally so that might be an adjustment for many runners.The Vaporfly may not be the best for runners who need a lot of stability support due their pronation. The large amount of cushioning and lightweight upper really lower the bar for stability. I am used to very supportive shoes and I could definitely feel the difference on longer runs. I would prefer a more secure lock around the heel. And as mentioned before, you may have to make foot-strike adjustments since these are prone to keep you on your toes. I would definitely recommend lacing as tight as possible.I can't wait to use these in a race one day. These are not long term training shoes since the lightness undermines durability but that is intended. I will continue to train in my more supportive, everyday runners and break these out on event day.
I absolutely love these shoes! I'm a pretty big runner (90 mpw, bunch of marathons/smaller races) and have tried racing in all sorts of different shoes--like the Vaporfly 2s, both Alphaflys, etc. etc. But these shoes are incredible--I PRed by 20 seconds/mile in a recent 5k compared to the Alphaflys. The upper is extremely light but also super solid--never any risk of anything tearing or falling out of place. I love the ridged laces but found that using the extra eyelet made them even more secure for me.And the actual running experience is incredible--these shoes are incredibly bouncy without being imposing. They let you run light and free while giving you propulsion when you need it. I think my form actually improved and I landed a bit more forward on my foot while racing in them. Would highly recommend for anyone running a mile race, a 5k, 10k, or a half. They might even become my favorite marathon shoe, but I haven't tested them on that distance yet!I liked them so much I ordered my brother a pair immediately.
The Nike 200mx Vaporfly Next%3 is easily the best running shoe I have used to date. Having a narrow foot with a normal arch, I was able to adapt easily to the extra room in the forefoot compared to past iterations of this model. The ZoomX foam feels a lot more squishy than previous models but does not lack the pop or response in combination to the flyplate. Toeing off in this shoe feels very natural when propelling forward. No matter if it’s track workouts, short runs, or long runs this shoe fulfills all my needs to perform at a high level. The engineered flyknit is as breathable as it has ever been and does not retain water on the wet runs at all. If I could change anything about this shoe is to widen the forefoot to heel of the sole. There were times it could feel a bit unstable if worn for longer periods of time off the trails and track. Those were very far and between but noticeable. Lastly, I really loved the color of this shoe. Not only did the shoe itself make me feel fast but so does the silver and white colorway!
