I recently purchased this pair despite the negative reviews I read in other places and felt like I needed to write my own to address the things people complained about. Most of the reviews came from people who don’t actually run, just buy running shoes for aesthetics. This is by far the best, most functional and supportive Freerun design Nike has ever made, and I have purchased Nike Free Run’s every single time I need running shoes for years now. I have slim feet, and the arch support is better than ever. They are a little snug, but they’re kind of meant to be worn without socks. Which is not a problem, the insole comes out allowing the shoe and insole to air out and dry properly so no smelly shoes. I’ve been running almost everyday my entire life. Which is not a problem, the insole comes out allowing the shoe and insole to air out and dry properly so no smelly shoes. I’ve been running almost everyday my entire life. My short runs are usually 1-2 miles around my neighborhood, long runs are 4-5 miles through woody trails. The heel provides the perfect amount of cushion for running on concrete. They sole is a little thin for running on rocky trails, but not bad. I like that the shoe fits like an actual sock, so there’s no tongue that moves around. I don’t have to constantly stop to adjust my shoe. The entire shoe is extremely flexible. It’s like you’re running with cushiony socks. The tab in the back makes it easier to pull the shoe on, it’s also shaped to your Achilles, and it’s padded which keeps your foot from sliding in and out so no blisters. There’s a strip across the front of the shoes by the toes that was a bit uncomfortable the first time I wore them and was almost a deal breaker, but after breaking it in it’s no longer an issue. Definitely not a shoe for someone with wider feet, as the shoe laces are mostly for show. They serve no real purpose except to tighten the shoe, but the shoe is super snug as it is. Typically, I size up one whole size with Nike, but this pair runs just right. Best pair of Nike Free Run so far.

I have tried many Nikes & altho I love the brand & styles the shoes just weren’t for me for the purpose of working out (shin splints, too narrow etc). I bought a pair called Free TR8s, they were wider, more flexible, & a perfect comfortable shoe for the workouts I teach. Unfortunately they were no longer sold & I decided to try these. They are the most similar I have found. Flexible, a tiny bit wider than most Nikes, lightweight. My only complaint compared to my free tr8s is the heel back is very low on these, other than that I love them.

From 5 stars to 3 starsI received these shoes as a gift for my birthday in Nov. I wasn't a fan of the style, but all my "dislikes" were obsolete after the 1st day I wore them! AMAZING SHOES! However, sadly, they have limited mileage or defective. I avg. ~11,000 steps a day at work. I loved these shoes so much I wore them from November to January. That's a lot of mileage to put on a shoe. However I just walked, indoors! The back threading has split horizontally. I would have thought I may have accidentally cut them. Except for the fact that the thread that normally holds this fabric together is still present, between the split opening of fabric. I give these shoes three stars because I still wear them they are the most comfortable sneaker. I usually would have problems in the morning after a long day at work but since wearing these shoes I have not had that problem. I am very saddened that they are not constructed well or that they were not inspected upon purchase. I would recommend these shoes to everyone just make sure when you get them that you check out the back hill really closely make sure there isn't any split or possible thin fabric. I am in the process of sewing mine. I figure I might as well run these ones into the ground so maybe I'll be back to let everyone know how long they ended up lasting.

Just about the most comfortable Nike i own (have 7) for everyday sneaker. Wear them for errands, and sometimes also at gym. They bend easily, lightweight, good grip on roads, sidewalks, gym floor. No tongue to be annoying or to slip. They get washed in machine regularly and stand up to regular use. Hope Nike always makes them just as they are! (Though, i wouldn't mind being able to customise colour 😉).
I have always worn Nike for running and gym life. This is the first time I have ever been disappointed in the brand. The trainer looks and feels really cheap although has a hefty price tag. I have always worn a size 6 in Nike but these trainers run small. They are very narrow and ill fitting. Unfortunately, I have returned this product. I don't think these would last for 3 months if wearing for the intended use.
Yes I am biased and have alot of Nike items, but these shoes are beyond amazing! Got a 1/2 size larger because of a toe problem. Needed a new pair of walking shoes and OMG these are literally like going barefoot but with a sole for protection. They hug the feet, are extremely lightweight and look really cool. IF you have knee problems, these will not give you much cushion so do consider that.
I already have these in a different colour, so I know that they are snug to begin with but soon loosen. The sole is incredibly lightweight and the uppers are like neoprene socks, so very very comfortable with absolutely nothing to be able to rub a blister.Really quick delivery from Very too.
I was looking for a lightweight sneaker that didn't have such a high heel but still had adequate cushion. I needed them for a HIIT boot camp class. Most running shoes have the gel in the heel, which is too much for quick side to side movement. I almost feel like I can twist my ankle easily with them. These shoes are perfect. They are sooooo comfortable and light. The cushion is great when I'm sprinting and they have great arch support. They are low enough to the ground that I'm not in danger of rolling my ankles. I was going to order a couple of pairs, one for work because I'm an ER nurse and on my feet for 12 hours each shift, but the color options in my size just weren't there. I highly recommend these!!!
I have a skinny foot, narrow heel, hard-to-fit foot and it’s very difficult for me to find shoes that actually fit well. I wanted something I could walk comfortably in. That’s about the extent of my exercise routine; walking. A lot.I ordered two different styles at Nike.com. The Nike Free Run 5.0 Women's Road Running Shoes in ‘Ocean Cube’, and the Nike Space Hippie 04 Women's Shoes in Cargo Khaki/Sequoia/Photon Dust/Pearl White. But first I tried them on at the Alpharetta Georgia brick-and-mortar-store and then I went home and did some research, hoping for customer reviews with size information. In the store I tried them in a 9.5 (because depending on the shoe, I’m a 9 or 9.5). I ended up ordering both at Nike.com in a 9, and unfortunately only the Free Run fit. I really wanted the Space Hippies too because they’re so good-looking, even though I don’t tend to like the heel projecting out from the back of the shoe. But no matter how I fiddled with the laces on the Space Hippie, my heel kept slipping out of the shoe. However the Free Run was very good, so I’m happy. I’ll walk around in them for a while before ordering another pair. They look very good on my feet. They’re also very lightweight and I particularly like that they have no ‘tongue’ in the shoe; it’s all of a piece, so there’s none of that tongue slipping to the side. Thanks to everybody who includes sizing information in their reviews. Very helpful.
I'm overall very disappointed with these shoes. I bought them since they have a low heel and I love that aspect. But I am dissatisfied with other aspects. The laces are REALLY thin which makes them harder to tie and also they slip out of a tie unless they are double knotted. But then with the double knot they are more difficult to untie particularly given that they are so thin. I'm also dissatisfied with the quality since I've only owned them about 5-6 months and the mesh fabric is already peeling away from the heel. I owned a previous version of this shoe and absolutely loved it and they lasted many years, but I will not be buying this shoe again.
