Nike Zoom Freak 2 Bright Mango

The Nike Zoom Freak 2 Bright Mango is the second edition of a signature designed for Nigerian-Greek basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo, and features his moniker, "Freak," embossed on the upper. A Bright Mango textile vamp with fortification on the medial side introduces the Nike Zoom Freak 2. The side panels feature multiple colors and materials. The lateral sidewalls display vibrant-colored Volt TPU reinforcements near the sole, a Grand Purple leather Swoosh with stitches on the outlines, a Red Plum section with subtle graffiti on the rear, and a black "A" embroidered logo. On the medial, the quarters consist of a Grand Purple leather panel with ample perforations and an embroidered volt zoomed-out Swoosh. Our experts love the sporty heel of this sneaker. It is adorned by a multicolor section on the heel counter and an embossed "FREAK" insignia on the black heel stabilizer. There is also a textile heel clip for a superior fit. The Nike Zoom Freak 2 Bright Mango was released on April 15th, 2021, for $130.

Great representation of the reigning MVP

This shoe is a major upgrade from the Freak 1 when it comes to style and performance. I currently play in LeBron 17s because of the cushion but the Freak 2 might just be my new basketball shoe! I could tell right off the break how well the shoe was holding my foot in place which is crucial because most shoes I feel like you have to break it in by playing a few games first. I really like how the heel and the forefoot are decoupled and I can feel the shank helping my stability while I play. I really like is how you can really feel that zoom air in the forefoot and also how lightweight the shoe was especially compared to the Lebron 17s. I normally play indoors but given the how good the traction of the shoe is it would be great for indoors and/or outdoors. Last but not least the reason I say this could be my new basketball shoe is the price point of $130! It’s not too often you can buy the league MVPs shoes for $130 and get your moneys worth in style and performance. Also in the days of people buying shoes for style over performance this shoe has a lot eye appeal. The oversized Nike logo on the midsole combined with the small details like his families’ name on the sole itself make this a shoe not only for ballers but for sneaker heads in general. Personally I can’t wait until the other colors of the Freak 2 drops so I can pick up more!

As soon as I saw this shoe, I knew that it was what I wanted for the upcoming season. I tried them on and they fit to size and were decently padded. When I laced up for my first practice, the were very tight on the tongue and my feet started to hurt after a few minutes. Now I have learned to lace them very loose, but enough to keep them on my feet. They feel quite clunky like a brick on your foot and there isn't too much padding on the bottom, so my heels and knees began to hurt after a few practices. I have owned these for maybe 4 months and the materials are starting to fall apart slightly after about 3 uses a week for basketball only. I bought some LeBron's last year and will buy another pair for the upcoming AAU season.

Love this shoe!

The durability feels good, the materials feel like they will last a long time, I would say 5 for that. The fit feels good for what I normally wear, would give that a 5 as well. I got to play on some outside courts but the responsiveness in the shoes were great. Overall I love this shoe! Love these shoes, played outside with these shoes, the responsiveness is really good. These shoes are also very comfortable just for casual use too. I went on a 4 mile walk in these shoes. My favortie basketball shoes I have played in yet.

Seem Very Small For a Basketball Shoes
13 April 2021

I absolutely love Giannis Antetokounmpo and was excited when his signature shoe, The Freak 2 was announced and even impressed that he and Nike decided to list them at a moderate "throw back" [to the 90s] price of $120-$130 instead of over-priced, limited availability of the LeBron James' line which strive to be a bigger signature line than The Jordan Brand! I was also quite pleased to see that the Freak 2 came in a variety of color ways including a nearly all black but with enough swag to not look like a boring "Dad Shoe". I ordered 2 pairs with the hope that I'd be able to wear at least one of the two sizes [10.5 & 11], with my avnormally narrow foot for a "big guy". I will say that I have not had my foot measured in years, so it is possible that my foot is no longer as narrow as it had been. These shoes felt as if I was putting on a shoe that was designed with a woman's foot in mind, here is no way I could wear this shoe for 5 minutes let alone "all day" as this website claimed. Again, it is possible that my foot has widened, especially since I had a similar issue with a pair of Jordan Brand (Maxin 200). I definitely recommend having your foot measured if at possible so you get the right size & fit, but keep in mind that NIKE do tend to run on the "narrow to less than true to size" spectrum.

Stable, Light, good looking!

These were tight getting on feet at first but once you loosen up the laces it sort of formed to your foot. The shoe cradles your foot and it feels protected. I couldn't play ball due to quarantine but I did a sprint work out with suicides and didn't feel slippage at all. They look slightly bulky but feel incredibly light on feet. I got the black/white colorway and man they are fire on feet. I started wearing them casually. The swoosh detail adds a nice pop in the design while keeping an overall clean look.

The work that they really put into this shoe, AMAZING SHOE
3 August 2020

The look amazed me in person and I loved how the model reminded me of the Kobe line. I loved the traction as soon as I stepped on the court. It was responsive and I never slipped once, it was a major step up from the freak 1s where I would have to keep on wiping after a few plays. And lastly the comfort was also a step up from the freak 1s, it was plush and sweet to my foot. The flaws or grudges I had on my brief time was the ventilation and maybe a longer lasting traction. My feet did get hot after 4 hours of play but it was 4 hours non stop. Lastly the traction as it was amazing the nubs on the side seem to be depleting but to note I did play outside once. Overall a great shoe with amazing traction and a step up in comfort and fit. These are a must buy!

Love these shoes. These Zoom Freak 2s are perfect for any style of play both on and off the court. I tested them in multiple pickup games, and can truly say that I have never worn a more comfortable basketball shoe. I play a lot of pickup games over the course of a week, and am constantly cutting and changing speed/direction. These shoes allowed me to do all that comes natural to my game, without my feet throbbing once I take them off at the end of my hoop session. Plus, they are a great looking shoe. I am very much looking forward to getting some continued use out of these!

Well first and foremost, the design in my opinion is flawless from the hints of his Greek origin, to his shoutouts to his family are all amazing! The fit is perfect and true to size, great heel and forefoot lockdown! It feels a lot similar to the Kobe signature line and that line was top tier. The cushioning with the air zoom felt as if you are walking on clouds and it’s just amazing. This colorway of this shoe is great but I know there are future colorways releasing that will make this shoe 10x better on the court! My favorite thing about this shoe is the traction, a good squeak to it along with it feeling like it is reliable in the forefoot and heel! Overall a 9.5/10 shoe! Once these colorways come out it will be a 10/10!

they were amazing! I got to play in them last night and I loved it. It was the first time wearing the shoes and I didn’t get any blisters, they’re extremely comfortable to play in! I’d rate it a 5 out of 5 for two main reasons. The comfort was noticeable right away, and the control while playing was incredible. The shoe responded exactly how I wanted it to every time and every move I made felt like I had complete control. The durability and materials of the shoe seem better than the first generation so I was impressed with that as well. The fit was good, the width was right on. The shoe feels like the toe is a little longer than the first generation so that took a little while to adjust to but besides that it fit great!
