1st Pegasus Ever and I love them!

This is my first pair of Pegasus shoes, ever, so I can't compare them to other Pegasus models. However, I have run in Zoom Flys, Epic Reacts and I have the Vaporfly 4% as well. I trained for and ran the 2018 LA Marathon exclusively in the Zoom Fly's. I loved them, but I actually prefer these Pegasus even more. The Zoom Fly's ran a little small and I wore a size 9 in the Zoom Fly's but these Pegasus I am an 8.5. These seem lighter and the upper is more comfortable. All I care about is if the shoe is comfortable and if I feel faster while wearing them. These shoes fit both criteria. I get runners knee quite often, but the past week I've worn these (including an 11 miler), I've felt no pain. These are probably the most comfortable running shoes I've worn in a long time. These fit true to size and they don't feel restrictive at all. I've been running in the Epic Reacts recently, but I will now add these to my rotation. Not only do they perform well but they look great too!

Good Shoe....TOO EXPENSIVE!

First I haven't been a fan of Nike for long time. That being said the Zoom Fly change my running and has been a great shoe for me. I can get a pair of 4% due to availability and cost.I just picked up the Pegasus Turbo and while it is different than the Zoom Fly I did feel that it will make a valuable addition to my shoe quiver.I did a short 4 mile run to start and felt immediately that the shoe is soft but does allow for some pop of the ground. I did not feel fatigue of the feet and legs but did nm noticed that I have to push off more than the Zoom Fly (the carbon infused midsole does help).I have been looking for a new shoe that is soft but also responsive. The last and stiffness of the zoom fly for me only allows me to run in the shoes. These I can also wear to ... MoreFirst I haven't been a fan of Nike for long time. I most likely will not buy another pair at this price.Cost knocks the shoe down one whole star!!!

Nike, we have a winner

Look & Comfort:I won't lie. I strayed away from Pegasus because I always thought they were ugly. But the turbo came out way nicer than expected. The shoe looks great. It has a breathable translucent upper where you can still see the nike flywire tech. It feels nice too, but I can imagine these getting dirty very easily. As soon as I slipped these on, they felt amazing. Hugged every countour of the weird shape of my foot. It's very similar to that sock feel you get from nike reacts but with EXTRA cushioning (as you can see with the padding). I also love the racing stripe to let everyone know you mean business.Functionality:Now to the running. I try to log 20-30 miles per week at different paces. With the Pegasus Turbo, you definitely feel the zoomx foam do its work. You feel elite. You are running in the same technology Kipchoge used when Breaking 2. Believe me when I say it is so soft and light. It does not even compare to react which I thought would be hard to beat. I am a mid striker when I run, so I can feel the exposed foam on the outsole propel me forward. I ran 5k's like they were nothing on my training days. Long runs were smooth and I did not want to stop. Also incorporated some HIIT sprints and casual walking when working at the office. These will be suitable as your everyday running, training shoe. Highly recommend! So far I've ran half marathons with the lunarepic flyknit 2, and 10k with the epic reacts. I can't wait to try them out for the next race!

Speed meets plush cushioning!
15 July 2018

This shoe feels fast! The cushioning on this shoe is amazing it feels just about plush as React does but with the bounce of Zoom my legs felt very fresh after running in these. The feel of the Zoom X also just makes you want to go and speed up. I mean as soon as I took my first steps in the shoe I could feel it almost pushing me forward. It's nice to have this level of response and comfort with out sacrificing weight.Fit wise they are a bit snug but true to size but the toe box feels perfect on my slightly wider foot. My only knock on these might be that my foot felt hot but to be fair it was like 90 degrees outside and I wasnt wearing the thinnest socks either, so its hard to tell if it was the shoe or the mid summer day heat. But it wasnt really a huge deal tho I ... MoreThis shoe feels fast! This is my first review, so it'll involve rambling, so I apologize in advance. After about 40 miles I'm still trying to figure out if I enjoy these as much as the Lunar Epic 2s and RN Distance (why did you stop making those!?!! gah! my fave!)As soon as you slip them on about halfway you can tell how amazing the cushioning is. I was worried about the toe box, but it stretches and breaks in during your first run and haven't had a problem with it being too tight. You definitely have to tighten the laces pretty good otherwise I felt like my foot was sliding within the shoe a little TOO much. Again, not a problem, just something I adapted to.My first run was a 7 miler with hills, and rollies. They are nice shoes to run in. Harder than the lunar epic 2s in my opinion, but very light and frankly felt cool running in them.I don't FEEL the bounce back that was advertised, but maybe that's the point? I run about 120-150 miles a month and times have held steady - though the recent NH humidity has been terrible, so maybe I actually am doing better than I think.Style wise they are beautiful colors and I get compliments constantly. I gave them 4 stars b/c:a)i'm not done deciding if these will work for me and my particular feetb)I'm not sure they are worth the $180 price tag.c)I miss the 4mm offset of the original rn distanceI will give them a good work out the next week and then decide if I need to return them - at this point I am leaning toward keeping them. Thanks for reading!

The best cushioning system out right now
5 September 2018

I've worn a lot of Nike runners/trainers in my life and this is far and away the most comfortable pair I've ever put on my feet. The react and zoom x come together to form a pillow for your feet. The zoom x is very soft while the react in the bottom of the heel gives you responsiveness. One thing about the soles, the midsole gets dirty easily and also creases a lot, and the outsole does not seem very durable. I would be concerned about the longevity of these for outdoor running but I plan to use these as walking shoes. Maybe it will hold up though who knows. The upper is dual mesh which is gonna be a pain to keep clean but should also be more durable. Good from far but far from good. These shoes have a great design and are very comfortable. If you don’t care about workmanship or durability, buy away. However, if you don’t want it to look like your shoes had minimal cosmetic quality control in manufacturing and a very lax standard for construction quality, hesitate to click “add to cart.” Uneven seams, missing or uneven dyes/logo stamps, and poor quality glue-ups seem to be the norm for this model. If I hadn’t ordered directly from Nike.com I’d suspect that the pair shipped to me was a cheap knock-off. It’s too bad that these shoes fall short in these areas because if you can get over the cosmetic quality for a few miles, they’ll feel great. Wont replace the 4%, but consider its purpose...
2 August 2018

I got a pair on pre-release. I have about 30 miles on them. They are very comfortable to run it, but its instantly apparent that the explosive personality of the Vaporfly 4% is due to the carbon plate, not this foam.I would consider the first run or 2 in these shoes to be throwaways, I found the ZoomX foam only to take a little getting used to, my foot really seemed to settle into the sole on landings. Once you get used to it, they're pretty good shoes. The toebox has lots of room in it, they didnt get uncomfortable over a 14 mile run. I think these shoes are good trainers. You could easily run a race in them and be fine, but if you've ever run in the Vaporflys, these are going to be a little letdown unless you consider that their purpose is for training, not ... MoreI got a pair on pre-release. Durability is up in the air at the moment. The rubber nubs on the sole are already showing some wear despite the shoes only being 2 weeks old. The foam may survive, but Im not sure how much of the sole will be left. Time will tell....
