pro: In general, I tested the product at viewing small objects at 60 yards and am relatively happy with the image quality. The product has detachable lens cover for the front lens that mate with the strap. The strap is pretty good and can be adjusted to hold the bino's at the correct height on the chest. cons: The binoculars have this plastic twist that is used to space the lens from the eye. The mechanism is plastic. I could see that with the twist extended and dropped, then it could break. The binoculars are not really useable without the twist spacers since your eyeball would touch the glass. Also, the back lens have lens covers, but I almost lost one of them the first time I used the product. There is no way to fasten the back lens covers to anything.

I've been exploring the world of mid-range binoculars for the last couple of years and in that time, have purchased several mid-tier products. Among them: Vortex HD 12x50's, Zeiss Terra HD's 10x42, Bushnell Legend Ultra HD "M" series 8x42 and out of all, I always return to the Nikons.Field of view on these 10x42's is excellent, as is the edge-to-edge clarity. These binoculars replaced my uncles 60yr old set. The crisp image, precise focus and diopter adjustment are fantastic. Bird watching from my balcony reveals clear and rich image details. There comes a time when foggy optics of hand me down binoculars degrade the enjoyment of bird watching. I highly recommend Nikon optics.
Love these knockers. We use them frequently. Immediately became birders, not intending to do so before purchase.4 stars for the lens cap design. Followed the instructions on how to use them, still lost them both. Lost one twice in one day. It fell off, I had no idea it was missing. Found it on the ground on the return hike. Put it in my pocket, slipped out when I went for my keys (I think). Lost the remaining cap two days later over a cliff.

Bought this new pair of binoculars for football games. This pair provides very clear and sharp images, although not quite as wide as my old pair, but provides a much better view due to the clarity. Fairly lightweight and comfortable to use. I attached the eye piece caps to the straps so that they never get lost. The bottom caps are separated but fit well and stay on when inserted onto the binoculars.

Once home I tested my new "compact" binocs against the old set and was frankly disappointed. The new "compact" pair although well made only matched the output of the older pair and I found them hard to focus while wearing glasses and the settings to be very sensitive. After years of using low end binoculars, I decided to try something a little better than Bushnell or Tasco. Wow! The difference is astounding. I would liken the difference to watching a sporting event on a high-end Samsung Oled TV, compared to a $200 Walmart no-name TV. I've used these glasses for whale watching and vacationing in Canadian Rockies. Well worth the money spent.
I wanted these binoculars to be able to view tags on birds, from a distance of 10-20 meters. I haven’t been able to test that yet because our tagged birds haven’t returned from their feeding grounds. But I *have* been using them to read small print from several meters away and I feel very confident that they are exactly what I need.
