I had a few opportunities this winter to use this lens. So far totally enthralled with it. Light weight, sharp, simple. I am waiting for a cloudless night to try it on the moon. For the price, Nikon knocked one out of the park.

Cover fits like a glove. All sections fit tight and take some effort to get in place. But this means the cover is not going anywhere. Sections are available for the entire lens, but I chose to leave the focus and control ring uncovered. I just prefer the feel of the actual lens. Would recommend this for anyone who want some extra protection for their lens.

I highly recommend this long lens at its price point. It's absolutely fantastic, and what's more, it's so lightweight that it can be handheld with ease.
They are not cut right. It's like someone described how the lens looked and they made these things. No attention to detail. I would not suggest buying any of these unless you don't mind cutting into them yourself.
Firstly, the multiple pieces should be labeled, and some instructions on which piece goes where. Not overly difficult to figure out, but some instruction would have been beneficial. Secondly, many cutouts are missing or nonexistent for the lineup indicators and control buttons.
If you own a Z, and you are into birds/ wildlife, you MUST own this lens. Even at f/6.3, performs really well with lower light. Tracking works beautifully with the focus system. Well worth the money and the nearly 12 month wait.
It's ok, but I don't understand why some buttons have a nice window to see them and use them, and others, like the memory recall button, are simply covered up completely, so you need some 6th sense to guess where they are and press then through the neoprene.If you're not going to leave a cutout, or a window, at least mark on the neoprene where the button is! I don't like spending $100 on something and then feeling like I need to take some scissors to it to fix it.Also, this cover doesn't have a notch to help you line the lens up with the mount when you put it on the camera. Most (all?) or my other Lenscoat covers do. What gives? Again, I had to get the marker pen out and fix this.
