Pros: Fast acquisition of subject with eye detection and general focusing. Ease of handling and controls.Well packaged, though no seal on manufacturer’s box.Cons: Camera not supplied with latest firmware update and discovered by chance that my serial number needed servicing by Nikon for possible faulty parts on lens release system, though my camera seemed to work fine. Awaiting Nikon to call for camera. Manual supplied is very poor with only basic information. Need to go on-line for full manual.

Pros: This, simply, is like my D5 on steroids. Subject/face/eye tracking is like superglue… never been so impressed with a camera as this Z9. However…Cons: Low light focusing is a definite step backward compared to my D5. The Z9 is probably more accurate, but it’s much slower to acquire focus.Late night wedding dancing is real challenge, tempted to use a DSLR for that part of the wedding… shame
Took delivery a couple of weeks ago from Wex and sort of expected a mirrorless D5/6. Most of the controls are the same with some changes but I was not expecting such a difference in the autofocus system from the others. The subject recognition is mind boggling as is the 3d tracking, with a caveat, you need to set up a hybrid system to obtain initial focus before switching to 3d. With all buttons easily customised, this is straightforward, and reasonably easy, once you get the hang of it. Once you have it mastered, 20 frames per second, all in focus on the eye of a fast moving animal,( racing lurcher) are simply out of this world. The Z9 is brilliant in low light, don't use Adobe to see this as they have not got the Z9 raw convertor up to speed. The Z9 is brilliant in low light, don't use Adobe to see this as they have not got the Z9 raw convertor up to speed. All the specs are there to see. The Z9 works great with tole-converters, add a 1.4 or 2x to the Z9 and it does a great job, much better than my D5 ever did. Does anyone want to buy a D%.
Pros: Stunning piece of kit!I have resisted going mirrorless as I didn’t feel previous cameras offered any advantage over the DSLR, but with the Z9 Nikon have hit it out the park!Cons: Availability of spare batteries and adapting to the new menu system will take a while as there are so many customisable options
Pros: All - very fast focusing on subjects, able to compose photos instead of trying to maintain focus first, very quiet great for nature shots at close quarters, long battery life.Cons: Nikon strap a bit naff, cheap and not the traditional yellow type. but that's all for now can't fault the camera so far.
Pros: Have to say price was a pleasure and as normal build quality is excellent.I am still getting use to the camera and it has a lot of different settings to choose from. My keeper rate has improved a lot and the camera does not disappoint when using for wildlife!Few lenses will only focus with manual mode and other fine despite the recent updates. Not used for video as such yet so really cannot comment. If you have had one of the other pro line Nikon’s then should be able to use within a short period.Cons: Connection for old lenses should be same as f glass!Auto focus still not locking on as quickly with wildlife buying hopefully with future updates will have proven to be a wise and great Camera!
Pros: It feels like a d5 but better. Customisation is great. Speed and higher mp is nice.Cons: The AF at night doesn’t compare to the d5. I was shooting a music event and had to put the z9 back in the bag. I need to actually feel and here the shot being taken to know I’ve got it. Z9 was very strange, like taking photos on an iPhone but the af Would hunt bad. D5 is instant snap on, shoot and go. D5/6 is also definitely better in low light. (I’m shouting 25,000iso+)It’s a learning curve for sure.
Pros: Still testing but if you're familiar with the Z series cameras this is a seamless transition. Feels very robust and intuitive. You can feel the quality straight out of the box.Cons: Nothing yet
