Nikwax Wool Wash Nikwax Wool Wash is suitable for all wool clothing, but is especially formulated for merino. Given the price of a merino jersey or base layer (or even a pair of merino socks) it makes sense to take care of your favourite cyclewear by washing it in the right stuff. Formulated for use in the washing machine, Nikwax cleans and conditions wool garments. No machine? You can also handwash woollen garments with Nikwax Wool Wash. Nikwax Wool Wash revitalises the natural wicking and fast drying properties of woollen base layers (a garment's moisture transfer capability will be compromised if its pores get impregnated with dirt) and helps maintain their softness. Nikwax Wool Wash deodorises the garment to help prevent odour buildup and to maintain freshness. Nikwax Wool Wash is very economical. This 300ml bottle will wash and condition up to 60 garments. Nikwax Nikwax was founded by a Londoner called Nick Brown whose first product was a waterproofing wax for hiking boots. Hence the name Nikwax. This was in 1977 - the year the Bike Co-op started. Still based in Britain, the Nikwax range has evolved over the years and the company is recognised as a global leader in producing safe, high-performance waterproofing, cleaning and conditioning solutions for outdoor gear. An analogy A poorly washed or unwashed technical garment will perform as badly as an unlubricated, rusty bicycle chain. Use Nikwax and your base layers, merino tops and breathable shells will perform like new.

Having become a full-on merino wool convert, I want to care for my pieces as much as I can.Thought I'd give this a try, and appreciate the lack of perfumes / scents while it appears to*possible too much information alert*have displaced a lot of dirt into the wash water, as I really space out the time between launderings as merino wool is more odour resistant than cotton or synthetics.Time will tell if it makes much difference (e.g., less stains? Less pilling? Etc.) but I got this at a discount, so keep that in mind.

I use merino wool exclusively for all socks, base layers, beanies, and any other clothing that touches the skin, so this is a staple product for me. It's absolutely perfect for removing funk (yes, which even merino will get after a week long sweaty hike, haha) while not harming the natural fibers. Instructions are on the bottle and easy to understand. Definitely recommend if you use wool products!

When I was able to use a washing machine this worked great. However the hand washing was not very effective. I had to use hand washing all Summer and my socks never stopped being a little stiff and smelly. My experience was really a 3-star time but since most people probably have access to some kind of machine I bumped it up a bit. Great with a machine-Fine with hand wash.

This wool wash makes such a difference in the look and feel of all merino clothing. It softens the fabric so nicely and helps prevent wrinkles. There is a nice, light scent to the fabric after laundering as well. I also have very sensitive and reactive skin, I’ve used this wash for over a year now with no issues.
I've used this wool wash a few times now and the results have been fantastic. Some of my merino was a little stiff and this stuff softened it up and made it feel subtle and clean. The initial smell is weird but once the items are dry, it pretty much goes away. I say pretty much because there is still a smell but it's nothing like the initial plastic but more of a lemon fresh scent. My clothes are clean, soft and smelling good. This stuff works much better than what I had previously used, which was either woollite, dawn or baby shampoo. Hopefully I don't have to go back to that stuff.
I've been using this for all my wool wear. It supposed to help keep the Merino soft and last longer. Wool is so expensive, I've been trying to extend the the life of each piece. It does help keep it soft, I've got some wool clothing I wear under my drysuit that are over 10 years. A couple pieces are just starting to wear out with thinning or tares.
Ive been using Nikwax Wool Wash for over a decade, now. It refreshes and maintains all of my wool clothing, from underwear and base layers to sweaters, hats, gloves and socks. It restores breathability, wicking and water repellent properties. The large 33 ounce / 1 Liter size is economical. This size will wash 9 full-size washer loads or many more smaller loads.
I always wash my merino base layers and socks with this Wool Wash. Leaves my items clean and looking new. Does a much better job than regular detergent. I wouldn’t use any other brand. I also use Nikwax Down wash for my down vests and jackets because it does the best job. I fully recommend using this brand.
This wool wash is perfect for wool clothing. Feeling so soft and present a good scent over the clothes. Look no further; if you have wool, this wash is a must. I hope it to restock again.
Great for delicate washes, I use this for wool, cashmere silk. While I prefer the scent of grangers merino wash (cedar wood extract), I find nikwax washes better and leaves littke to no residue
