I chose this style of vacuum cleaner for cleaning rental cottages, where you have to transport the vac and move between cleaning areas. This is the second Nilfisk I have owned. So far this one has good suction, is quite well-balanced and comfortable to wear on your back. Only fault is where you store the long cord, which tends to get tangled if dropped. The last one I one had a hook, which was OK, suggest Nilfisk gives some thought to this in the next model. Also the option of re-usable bags.

Great cleaner. Quiet, very lightweight and so easy to use . No dragging cleaners around on the floor .
I give Nilfisk GD5 back pack vacuum a 5 star rating.The bags are easy to use the back pack is easily moved around and it's cord is a couple of metres in length so you can pretty much clean a 2/3 bed home without unplugging the the plug & plugging in elsewhere in the home to be cleaned. I'm very happy with this purchase. Thank you.
This powerful machine is typical of the Nilfisk commercial range. The only problem was the cable was not detachable as advertised. So if it gets snagged under a door or furniture whilst climbing stairs you could get pulled down backwards.
We use these all the time, on this one , for some reason, the hose comes over at the top, rather than the side of the backpack, so catches on my pony tail - will have to somehow modify it.
