This is by far one of the best games I've ever played. I never get bored playing it over and over againLIKES1) Engaging and interesting plotI like how the plot is not romantically centered, though most characters (including yourself) can choose to develop relationships and even marry by building through the support conversations with characters. The plot makes sense (for the most part) and it felt like I was part of this different world. There are supernatural and fantasy elements to the game, so you may have to maintain a suspension of disbelief to really enjoy this. I appreciate how well-integrated the tutorial is. This is the very first Fire Emblem game I've played (it's an extensive series that spans almost 3 decades since its inception in 1990), and even I was able to quickly learn and understand the turn-based and almost 'chess-like' strategy format. While there is that specific portion of the game set aside purely for the tutorial, the game also continues to ease you into the complexity of the its different features.2) Voice actingI've never really played games in which voice acting was restricted to a limited number of specific phrases for each character, but I was pleasantly surprised by how these same phr.

I never played a single Fire Emblem game before and the last tactical RPG I played was Pokemon Conquest which I found AWFUL. Since Shin Megumi Tensei is planning a crossover with Fire Emblem, I decided to give the Fire Emblem franchise a try. Fire Emblem: Awakening satisfied my tactical RPG itch. I love how the gameplay kept my attention. I felt I was being rewarded for any efforts I made on level-grinding, weapon upgrading, and actually stopping to THINK before heading into battle. Almost all the battles didn't seem outright unfair and you can win them all if you're prepared. Any losses that occurred I can blame only myself rather than the game. (Having Sigrun in my ranks saved me SO many times!!)The art style is beautiful and this is so far the only game I want to play in 3D the whole time. I wish however more attention was given to the hair on some of the 3D models. I personally don't think hair going thru clothes and people is acceptable anymore considering the budget this game must have had.I do have two somewhat petty reasons I don't like about this game: the story and the use of voice actors. The main story while a 1000% better than Pokemon Conquest which had nothing...the story in Awakening is kinda generic and predictable. Typical RPG plot points with no real surprises to speak of. They make up.

Let me preface this by saying that I've only ever beaten two games before in my life--Kingdom Hearts 2 and Pokemon X. I'm not much of a gamer because I tend to find grinding boring and difficult and I get tired of not being able to move the story along. That being said, I absolutely loved FE:A. While the plot could have been a little more original, the characters are what really make this game shine. The avatar is customizable to the point where it's almost frustrating, deciding between different little details, and in-game you can marry any character of the opposite gender. Your role as tactician also becomes that of a matchmaker, as pairing up characters in battles leads to support conversations and then you can marry them off, get their future children in paralogues, and then marry the kids off (don't worry, they're all of age. I think). Characters can also have support convos without needing it to lead to marriage, too. The higher the support rank between characters, the better they will fight together. It's a win-win!The supports were my favorite part of the entire game. They were practically endless, and seeing the way different characters responded to each other was a lot of fun. I wish some characters would've had more supports though--I think Lon'qu and Libra would've had some really interesting conversations. That being said, grinding became really enjoyable for me and I even did hours of grinding just for fun, amazingly, because fighting led to character interaction.

Nintendo 3DS Review: A Timeless Handheld Gaming Experience The Nintendo 3DS, first released in 2011, remains a beloved handheld console that continues to capture the hearts of gamers worldwide. Despite being over a decade old, the 3DS has aged gracefully, thanks to its innovative features and an impressive library of games. Design and Build Quality The 3DS sports a clamshell design that’s both compact and durable, making it easy to carry around. The dual-screen setup, with the bottom screen serving as a touch interface, offers a unique gaming experience. The standout feature, of course, is the glasses-free 3D top screen. While the 3D effect isn’t essential for gameplay, it adds a layer of immersion that was groundbreaking at the time of its release. While the 3D effect isn’t essential for gameplay, it adds a layer of immersion that was groundbreaking at the time of its release. Game Library One of the 3DS’s strongest points is its vast and diverse game library. From iconic titles like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Super Mario 3D Land to beloved series such as Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Pokémon X and Y, the 3DS has something for everyone. Additionally, it offers backward compatibility with DS games, further expanding your options. User Experience The 3DS’s interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, with features like StreetPass and SpotPass adding a social element to the experience. The battery life, though not the longest, is sufficient for most gaming sessions, and the device charges relatively quickly. The Circle Pad provides smooth analog control, while the D-pad and buttons offer a classic feel. 3D Technology The 3D effect, while not always perfect, is a unique selling point. It’s adjustable, allowing users to find their comfort level, and can be turned off entirely if preferred. While some games make better use of the 3D feature than others, it’s an interesting aspect that sets the 3DS apart from other handhelds. Online and eShop The Nintendo eShop on the 3DS allows access to a vast range of digital games, demos, and even retro titles from older Nintendo consoles. Although the eShop has limited functionality compared to newer systems, it’s still a valuable resource for discovering new and classic games. Conclusion The Nintendo 3DS is more than just a gaming console; it’s a piece of gaming history. Even in 2024, it stands out as a handheld that successfully blended innovation with a strong game library. Whether you’re revisiting old favorites or discovering this console for the first time, the 3DS is a timeless piece of hardware that’s worth every penny. Rating: 9/10 This review highlights the strengths of the Nintendo 3DS while acknowledging its age, making it clear why it remains a worthwhile purchase even today.
To my big surprise, the console product come in three layers or packaging. After opening the cardbox box there are another two layers of bubble wraps before a plastic envelope that wrap the actual console. So in a sense you get the bubble wraps as a fidget toy for free somehow! (Jokes) Now the console itself is nothing more than a typical old gen 3DS. It is mimimally beat up. There are some small amout of scratches on the top and bottom of the console, and the matte surface is pretty much gone due to previous use. Other than that, the color and function are as advertised without any issue. Although some minor flaws, overall it functions as promised and it is within my expectation. And for 300 or so of price range I am pretty much satisfied amd cannot ask for more.

It's great for kids...but is it great for adults? Yes. If you're an adult like me, who grew up playing Nintendo games, has an appreciation for retro, and likes cute-but-challenging games, hop aboard immediately. Animal Crossing, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Luigi's Mansion are must-haves, but they all lean to a cute style, even if the games are challenging. A few outliers like Fire Emblem and an excellent Resident Evil games are the exceptions. You won't find any serious sports or shooter games here, or any deep online game experiences. A masterpiece of technology, a console with excellent performance. The design is clean, agile, modern, looks like a small piece of jewellery; performance is high, functions endless, Nintendo games guarantee absolute quality. The 3D effect is perfectly enjoyable and, although after a while weary eyes, it is deactivatable; moreover, fatigue is linked to the habit and will decrease with use. It would be nice to have a little lower game prices, but you realize that they are not high; the console also has a very low cost. You will also like it if you don't play or if you do it occasionally thanks to lots of fun and useful software. Suggested for everyone, it beats the other expensive consoles in the environment with its eyes closed.

As a Game Boy lover, I can’t recommend Nintendo 3DS enough. The size is compact enough that it can be carried in-hand or slipped in bag. Improved from previous generation, the thumb slider is loose and fluid, but responsive and accurate. Nintendo has fantastic game library, but the 3DS’ backwards compatibility with the DS means you can enjoy DS classics (which I already have with my old Nintendo DS) like Super Mario 64 DS, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Animal Crossing: Wild World and so on. Nintendo 3DS has pretty awesome 3D effect. The downside is that 3D only works if you keep the system in the right angle, otherwise you’ll see a blurry mess. Its battery lasts about 4hrs before another charge. I think that it’s good enough so that way you won’t be able to ... MoreAs a Game Boy lover, I can’t recommend Nintendo 3DS enough. The screen hinge is its weakest point, as in the case with any clamshell design. Overall, I really love my Nintendo 3DS but you can’t go wrong with any games and consoles from Nintendo either.
