I'm not that big on amiibos. I've only gotten a couple over the years. But I did want this one and it was honestly worth it. Regardless of functionality, this amiibo looks really good. Zelda looks nice here and her loftwing really does add some flare to the whole thing. The detail is really nice on both Zelda and the loftwing. This is something I've got no problem sitting on a shelf and looking fantastic.The in-game angle is definitely handy. I don't think you need this amiibo to get the most out of the game considering the easy accessibility to statues to get you into the sky naturally. But it is certainly useful if you just want to hurry up and hit Skyloft for a bit of shopping.This thing is good. The game is fun. The combat is well adapted to using the control sticks rather than motion control, so there shouldn't be too many problems using portable mode. I played in portable mode for my entire playthrough and I don't feel like it impacted my experience negatively. The visuals are appealing and beautiful to look at. The 60 fps is particularly appreciated, to the point where I wish Nintendo would make it a priority for their new titles. My only real complaint is with the excessive hand holding. It's better than the original Wii version but I couldn't help but feel annoyed at how little the game trusted me to figure things out on own. Once Fi notifies you that amiibo accessories can be used, you can use this to travel freely between the sky and the surface, even during dungeons. When you tap the amiibo from almost anywhere on the surface (with the exception of some dungeon puzzles and boss fights), you will be brought back to the sky. Tap it again to return to the exact point you left the surface from. It really is that simple. It cuts so much travel time out of the game and makes Hero Mode a tad more forgiving.
