I'm not that big on amiibos. I've only gotten a couple over the years. But I did want this one and it was honestly worth it. Regardless of functionality, this amiibo looks really good. Zelda looks nice here and her loftwing really does add some flare to the whole thing. The detail is really nice on both Zelda and the loftwing. This is something I've got no problem sitting on a shelf and looking fantastic. The in-game angle is definitely handy. I don't think you need this amiibo to get the most out of the game considering the easy accessibility to statues to get you into the sky naturally. But it is certainly useful if you just want to hurry up and hit Skyloft for a bit of shopping. This thing is good. There just isn't anything I can complain about with this amiibo.

The game is fun. The combat is well adapted to using the control sticks rather than motion control, so there shouldn't be too many problems using portable mode. I played in portable mode for my entire playthrough and I don't feel like it impacted my experience negatively. The visuals are appealing and beautiful to look at. The 60 fps is particularly appreciated, to the point where I wish Nintendo would make it a priority for their new titles. My only real complaint is with the excessive hand holding. It's better than the original Wii version but I couldn't help but feel annoyed at how little the game trusted me to figure things out on own. Breath of the Wild was definitely an improvement on that front to say the least. Still, I don't regret my time playing it and ... MoreThe game is fun. For a while, I just used this amiibo as a decorative accessory on my bookshelf, but I recently got back into Skyward Sword HD, and holy cow is this useful in the game. Once Fi notifies you that amiibo accessories can be used, you can use this to travel freely between the sky and the surface, even during dungeons. When you tap the amiibo from almost anywhere on the surface (with the exception of some dungeon puzzles and boss fights), you will be brought back to the sky. Tap it again to return to the exact point you left the surface from. It really is that simple. It cuts so much travel time out of the game and makes Hero Mode a tad more forgiving. Unfortunately, returning to the surface via skydiving will erase your return point, so use it wisely! On the downside, ... MoreFor a while, I just used this amiibo as a decorative accessory on my bookshelf, but I recently got back into Skyward Sword HD, and holy cow is this useful in the game. It does grant you food items in Breath of the Wild and Skyrim, and dungeon chambers in Link's Awakening, but those are the only uses I know of outside Skyward Sword. From what I've seen of the older Legend of Zelda amiibo accessories, this has to be one of the highest quality figures out there. It's super well-detailed, if a tiny bit delicate, so be careful handling it. Once I did start using the amiibo, I didn't mind the higher than usual price tag. It truly is as useful as it is beautiful.

Wow. This is a really beautiful amiibo. Easily the most elaborate and detailed that Nintendo has created to date. I was a bit taken aback by the $25 price tag at first, and hoped that maybe it would be oversized like Detective Pikachu was, but this is just a standard-size amiibo with absolutely immaculate detailing. The Skyward Sword incarnation of Zelda has always been my favorite version of the character, too, so I'm over the moon that she finally has her own amiibo. As for functionality, it certainly adds what can be a useful feature to Skyward Sword HD in being able to warp in and out of any area at will, but it's not a critical element of playing the game as you can otherwise do so from specific game save locations. It's really just a nice little added bonus ... MoreWow. This is a really beautiful amiibo. Easily the most elaborate and detailed that Nintendo has created to date. This amiibo is just as cool as any of the others in terms of its quality and design. Colors are vibrant, distinct, and don't really bleed into each other. Zelda has a cute expression, and it looks just like the concept art.In terms of the in-game functionality of this specific amiibo, I can't think of another one that I used more. I would easily call this one a must-have for the game it's designed for, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD for the Nintendo Switch. It allows for instant fast travel from the surface of Hyrule to the clouds of Skyloft. With all of this game's collectibles, fetch-quests, shops, etc., you'll need to go back and forth a lot. This amiibo saves the player HOURS of tedious backtracking on foot. Big time collector of all things video games. Super stoked best buy had loftwing amiibo in stock. Hurried to purchase as to not miss out. Elected to ship to the house. When i received my amiibo, it arrived in a bubble mailer, NOT a box. The bubble mailer looked fine. Opening it up revealed why i hate buying from best buy and shipping home. Huge crease across the entire top of my amiibo package. Probably safer if it was shipped in a brown paper bag. Very bad for my collective needs. Third collectors item I've bought and shipped to the house to arrive damaged. Sakura of rice and ruin collectors edition was another arrived completely smashed. Do everyone a faver and spend fifty cents and ship things in a box.
Unlike the majority of amiibo, this one actually unlocks one of the key qualify of life improvements for Skyward Sword HD for Switch. Using the amiibo allows you to fast travel to the sky from the overworld or dungeons. It’s unfortunate that this feature is locked behind an amiibo. However, on the bright side, this Zelda and Loftwing amiibo itself is made very well. The details and paint job are excellent.
This amiibo looks absolutely beautiful. I hate that it adds a feature to the game which technically means it's trapped behind a pay-wall, but this amiibo itself is absolutely gorgeous so it's worth picking up. Luckily, I was able to pick this one up with a total tech discount for only $10 so it was well worth the price and I was able to get the fast-travel feature on Skyward Sword HD because of it. I'd highly suggest picking this up if you're a fan of the game or the Zelda series in general and also if you love to collect amiibos.
This is one of, if not the, best amiibo in terms of appearance. It would be better if it was a jumbo amiibo like detective Pikachu, at least the loftwing part of it. The functionality in Skyward Sword is a nice luxury, but that's all it is, not necessary at all. Also, it does not have any special drops in Breath of the Wild, unlike the rest of the Zelda series amiibo. It is still a very nice addition to the collection.
his amiibo is very detailed and vibrant! one of the nicest amiibo yet! it is about 3 inches tall from the bottom of their feet to the top of zelda’s loftwing’s head. im very happy to have such a lovely figure to add to my collectionbe careful if you order directly from amazon, they might put the amiibo in a box with no padding so it is free to jostle around and damage the amiibo packaging. it arrived like this for me (the packaging was not damaged for me, not that it mattered since i wanted to open the amiibo anyway, but when i picked up the box from my porch i heard and felt it slide around inside). if you want to keep yours in the packaging and want the packaging to be as flawless as possible, you might want to get this from elsewhere
