Best retro handheld gaming console by Nintendo

This is awesome! I'm a gamer and a collector and I now have Nintendo Game & Watch Super Mario Bros version handheld gaming console added to my collection. Bought this same day it released.It brings back old memories when playing this. I have played the original Game & Watch handheld system back in the days.Games on this handheld can also be played on the Nintendo Switch.I like the size of this Game & Watch system, I can literally take it anywhere and it's small enough to fit in pockets, etc.I also have the Classic NES Mini which I also bought same day it released.I do recommend this for gamers or Nintendo fans, it's a great collection item. It's a bit pricy for a small thing like this but if you're a fan I do recommend it.

Cool retro game for all ages

This is a cool little handheld game of Super Mario Bros. The screen is small but has great resolution. Wonderful way to show the kids a Nintendo classic game. This is celebrating 35 years of Super Mario. I do not care for the color scheme on the unit. My biggest complaint is the words GAME and WATCH on the front of it. I almost didnt buy this because of that being there. We know its a game and I think its pretty easy find the time button. Thats like putting the words refrigerator and freezer on your fridge. Basically made a cool little handheld game very lame as far as appearance. Game functions perfect and sound is spot on. Although speaker output is beside your left hand and very easy cover it up. It is very thin and light. Needs to be treated with delicate hands.

Great nostalgic toy, doesn't justify price

It's also very light and feels a cheap.Overall very happy with the purchase, especially for someone who grew up with the original game & watch and played many hours of mario. However, I think it's probably worth closer to $30-$40 as opposed to the $60 it's listed at the time of writing this.

New Nintendo game is a great reminder of old 80's.

I just got my game and watch Super mario Bros. for $ 49.99 and it reminds me from the 80's when my parents used to buy these games from Toysrus. I still have a few of these game watch games in it's original box like brand new and this new edition looks just like the old, but with improved new quality. I have the Donkey Kong Jr. and Donkey Kong II with dual screens and a Donkey Kong table top game and watch edition. This new game is even better that the screen is in color and its quick rechargeable unlike the old games used a button cell LR44. If you or someone is a fan or a collector of these vintage style Nintendo games, then it is worth buying and that is why I bought one. Have fun! (-:

Nostalgic.

The 70's & 80's were a great time for kids growing up. Video games came about during the 80's and originally took the form of some big plastic box, usually requiring a bit of table space to play. Then there was the Game and Watch - which truly was a pocketable game machine. I remember a school friend always having his in his school bag ready for breaktime. No fancy graphics, just simple LCD segmented display. No end of level monsters to beat-up, just pure and simple movement and timing. Simple. Addictive. Then came the 8-bit consoles. That Nintendo have captured both in one simple nostalgic piece of hardware may only appeal to a few - those few will be thankful for the trip down memory lane and the hours of fun that these handhelds provide.

Not bad, could be better with more games

It is very small and light but that doesn’t mean it’s cheap. It feels well built for it being light and the buttons have a good snap to them. I have only played for about 20 minutes but the controls feel right to me. It’s too expensive for what you get but I think it is cool. I would have liked to have seen Mario 1,2,3 on this for $50. It would have been cool to design it to add games besides what modders could do. I wish it was slightly larger. The sound is really great and the screen is really great too. It gets really bright. It turns on and off instantly. Games save so you don’t have to restart when you turn it off. If you are a fan of Mario it is a must buy. I find it ergonomically perfect to use. The battery life is excellent. When I was purchasing it I was nervous about how small the screen was and ability to save progress. The levels are a replica of the original. There is no memory card slot and therefore you can't save process but it does keep highest score. There's only 3 lives allotted so if you die on level 7 you have to restart at level 1 but there is a trick to get unlimited lives. I'll let you figure that out ;). There is the option to pause the game and turn off the console which allows you to start where you ended upon turning it back in, even if its been off for 5 days. Pros: Good introductory game console to get a beginner used to basic controls. Picture quality is good. Fun Super Mario game that I remember from my childhood.Cons: Plastic buttons can sometimes be slow to respond/difficult to press, especially with slightly longer thumbnails. Sound goes up & down at times by itself. Overpriced for a basic game.
