Best all-in-one case solution for Switch

I drove about an hour to the fourth-closest Target after seeing they had a couple of these in stock. Purchased it online and picked it up in the store. I was half-expecting it to not be there at all, but I received the follow-up email saying the item was ready to pick up, so I headed out to get it.I initially had two worries about this case. One is that multiple reviews for RDS cases (dating back to Nintendo DSi cases, I think) mention a bizarre smell that doesn't seem to go away. This case smells like plastic in a new car, I guess, but it isn't overwhelming or off-putting. Secondly, the fabric where the Switch sits looks as if dust may get stuck in there and eventually scratch the screen. It is much softer than it looks in pictures/video reviews, however, and I'm ... MoreI drove about an hour to the fourth-closest Target after seeing they had a couple of these in stock. Secondly, the fabric where the Switch sits looks as if dust may get stuck in there and eventually scratch the screen. It is much softer than it looks in pictures/video reviews, however, and I'm not concerned about scratching the screen in the slightest.Because I couldn't find dimensions and the entire case is surprisingly compact, here are the dimensions: 5" high (handle to the side, Switch logo on top), about 9" wide, and 12" long. 12x9x5 seems huge compared to more portable alternatives, but this case is exactly what I was looking for. I can (comfortably) fit the Switch with controllers attached, the dock, the AC adapter, a Pro controller, HDMI cable, USB A-to-C cable for the Pro controller, and up to 8 games in the case. If you have extra Joy-Con controllers instead of a Pro controller, they will fit on the Joy-Con Grip in the slot above where the dock sits. If you do this, be careful, as the bottom-most button on the left Joy-Con will likely be depressed and cause the battery to eventually run out. I would recommend leaving them off of the grip because of this. The Pro controller does not suffer from the same issue because its directional pad is a little higher up than the ABXY buttons of the left Joy-Con controller. The exterior of the case is stronger than any other Switch case in existence, to my knowledge. That said, I think a fall greater than 4 or 5 feet would likely break either the Switch itself or a screen protector due to the fact that, when holding it by the handle, the case has the Switch's screen oriented directly towards the ground. You shouldn't need an accessory review to tell you dropping the system is bad, however.I'm giving the case five stars despite the aforementioned issues, as the pros greatly outweigh those two, small cons. The only real oddity about the case is that it includes two MicroSD cases. To my knowledge, the Switch currently doesn't support easy swapping of MicroSD cards, so I'm curious as to why RDS didn't save the money and simply include two cases that house 4 Switch games each without the additional MicroSD card cases. Either way, they can be easily removed if you'd rather bring 8 games along instead of 6 and two MicroSD cards.

Doesn’t fit everything properly like it claims

Just wanted a case to store my switch and its stuff. Searched and this was pretty much the only option. It says it’ll fit the switch, joycon straps, dock, basically everything that came with the switch perfectly, with compartments for each.It doesn’t. The AC adapter (charger) takes up up of the left or right pockets. Joycon straps in one mesh bag, HDMI (TV) cable in other mesh bag. One has to be removed entirely to make room for the charger.A makeshift solution is to take out and wrap the HDMI cable around the dock. Still minus one mesh bag. Also the compartment for the dock is noticeably smaller than the dock, so one has to squeeze it in. Hopefully it doesn’t get damaged.

Purchased this case as a last minute addition to our Christmas travels as the family decided to bring along our Switch. It is durable and held up extremely well during the journey. It has storage capacity for everything that comes with the Switch. We had to pack our aftermarket JoyCon charger in a separate bag, but this was a reasonable expectation. Overall this is a great purchase for the price.

Good, but not excellent.
30 July 2022

I like the case and it is definitely durable and protective. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it is made specifically for Nintendo accessories. If I were to get a case for the screen, because I am very prone to dropping things, the case wouldn’t be able to stay in there. However, it does allow for different kinds of controllers and even different shape joy cons. I also have a hard time fitting the cables for the docking station into the bags, maybe that’s not where they’re supposed to go or maybe I’m just not smart about it, but I’ve really had to stuff them in to get them to fit.

Great case to take everything with you on the go
4 March 2023

I wanted a case that could hold all my switch components so I could take it and hook everything up somewhere else. After some organizing you can quite a bit in the case. My only issue is the pro or gamecube controller doesn't fit snug in the case. It may be a one size fits all design so it's something that can't be perfect. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to take the full switch set up on the go and not worry about breaking something.

Not a Perfect Case, but Works Quite Well
4 July 2021

When looking for a case I was quite worried about finding a good one as there isn’t many options that can carry the dock and some accessories as well. One of the prime concerns was finding a case that was sturdy, compact, and held all of the basic needs for the Switch. I particularly wanted one that had defined places for everything. I was pleasantly surprised that this case fulfilled those sufficiently. It comes with two four slot game card cases, two Micro SD card cases, and a microfiber cleaning towel. I was able to get the system with two Joy-Con attached, the dock, a Pro Controller, the AC adapter, the HDMI cable, two more Joy-Con, the two game and Micro SD card cases, and the microfiber cleaning towel inside. Only thing I am disappointed with is that the cables inside of the included mesh bags are difficult to fit into the defined slots. The AC adapter particularly has a hard time fitting in the bag, and then into the slot. But, I got them in and the case still closes easily with the cords in the bags, even if they are a bit bulky. The Zipper seems to be of good quality and the outside texture of the bag is not bad.

Not the best internal layout, but it gets the job
14 August 2022

The overall build.of the case isn't bad, but doesn't have the best design internally. While it holds the Switch, dock, an extra set of joy cons and even a pro controller, everything is kinda loose. The switch itself wobbles around in its slow. Same with the joy cons. Then there's the two storage pouches and their designated compartments. The pouches are fine, but for some reason the place you put them is curved, making it difficult to store things like the charging cable and HDMI cable without using some force. It eventually all fits, bit it could have used a little more thought.

Room & Protection
16 July 2022

Bought to transport Nintendo Switch and controllers back and forth from appointments. I noticed it did not fit off brand controllers well (Pro or joycon's) However it does have allot of virtual space and the Switch dock and console fits snuggly and that was the most important to me. Nothing wiggles around or snacks into each other while hauling, I also liked the card holders and wire protector case. It would have been nice if they had a slot just for the switch chip holder in the hard case itself. No regrets in purchase.

Sturdy and clean. Missing one more thing.
8 December 2022

The case is strong and has many ports. It even has a lot of space for extra things you might have such as a case for microsd cards and your physical games. The mesh bags for the wires are a bit small and the holes for then are tight but they get the job done for organization. I know they include an area for a pro controller ot chuck holder but I feel like the case needs to include space for if you have both. Other than that, super solid.

Very well constructed, a little cramped
15 March 2022

This case is large enough to carry almost all of your Switch gear, at the cost of making the system a little less portable than it's meant to be. It's best used for transporting the whole system to a new location if that's all you're traveling with, but if you're taking a flight you'd be better off getting a small case for the Switch and tossing the base/cables/controller in your suitcase.I have used this case quite a bit to transport all of my gear. It is well constructed, and after a few months of moderate use I have not run into any issues with tearing seams, the handle, or the zipper. The space inside of the case does get a little awkward. I keep a Switch Pro - like controller in the spot where the Joycon grip is shown in the photo. The controller does not fit perfectly, but it sits well enough that I can close the case without issue, and it does not bounce around in the case. I also find that the spaces for the cable bags are cramped when you put the cables in. I have to bend the cables more than I'm comfortable with to even get them in the bags, then stuff them into the spaces in the case. I suspect that my cables will wear quicker due to this, but if you don't use the case very often I wouldn't worry about it.Overall, this case is well constructed, and a solid choice for keeping your gear safe in transit.
