I believe I'm close to about 10 hours in. It's a slowish start in terms of how quickly you're getting spells and complex fighting as well as seeing the story roll forward with something more compelling. But yes it keeps my interest! It also stays pretty close to the film's references to certain creatures, terms and what not. I will say- that the most frustrating part of this game by far is the mapping system! You will need to constantly pull up a slow map to the screen, decide on your next objective, press a button to mark it on the map, but then go to the area tab of where that is located on the left, click it, see the nearby (if any) checkpoints in green that you've made and then choose which traveling spot is closest to your objective to start that mission. Money is a rare commodity aside from these chests! Think about looking up the door puzzles with animal symbols in Hogwarts online- this made 0 sense to me and once I learned the method, it actually made the puzzle solvable to me, and still requires a good bit of thinking on each puzzle, still fun and challenging. As a very long-time Harry Potter fan, I must say this game is incredible. It has gone beyond my expectations, and I can't be happier with it. Well, maybe if Quidditch was included, but even so that's not a big deal with everything else the game has. It includes so much wizarding lore, secrets around the castle, a huge world to explore that looks absolutely gorgeous, and an incredibly intriguing storyline. Not only this, but the NPCs are amazing. I find myself already loving Sebastian and wanting to know more about him as my character gets to know him!I love that I am constantly still finding out new information about the world that I love so much. I have the books and movies basically memorized, but this game is adding so much more to it that I'm still intrigued ... MoreAs a very long-time Harry Potter fan, I must say this game is incredible. As someone who loved reading the books and thoroughly missed the sense of wonder that comes from reading new books, this game has brought that back to me.The graphics are also wonderful. I love flying on my broomstick and just looking around the world around Hogwarts. Speaking of flying, I love that you can travel through the world without any loading screens! You can fast-travel, if that's more your thing, but I love flying over the Hogwarts grounds, over Hogsmede, and through the trees of the Forbidden Forest! The magic system is also so, so good. I expected it to be a little clunky, but the way they designed it was incredibly well done. You can pick and choose which spells you want in your hot bar, and it's easy to swap spells out mid-battle if you need to.I cannot recommend this game enough. If you are a Harry Potter fan, or if you just like fantasy rpgs in general, pick up the game, and pick it up now. You won't regret it.

This is a great game with fatastic graphics, pretty smooth on PS5. The story itself is shorter than what I expected, but it was fun. The first two trials was great with puzzles and combats, pretty challenging in early game. However, the last 2 trials didn't cost much effort. It feels like the developers spent a lot of time at the first two trials and rush through the later two. And after the 4 trials, the main quest went straight to underneath Hogwarts fighting the last boss. The side quests could keep you busy but I expect more in the main story line. Overall it is a good game. I hope there will be DLC coming up, because I could finish the main story line in less than 20 hours if I were to ignore the side quests.

This is the game I wish I was able to experience when I was 15, my peak of being a Harry Potter fanatic. As it stands now, I feel like a child again being wowed by the attention to detail and faithfulness to the source material. Hogwarts Legacy is a return to form for the Harry Potter franchise, set a little over 100 years before the events of the books/movies, which helps the game stretch it's creative muscles without being shackled by appearances from characters that would steal the spotlight from those created for the game. Because of this, I was sucked into the narrative. However, you might find the fun narrative being overshadowed by the thing I looked forward to the most when picking this game up; the ability to explore Hogwarts to your heart's content ... MoreThis is the game I wish I was able to experience when I was 15, my peak of being a Harry Potter fanatic. Because of this, I was sucked into the narrative. However, you might find the fun narrative being overshadowed by the thing I looked forward to the most when picking this game up; the ability to explore Hogwarts to your heart's content (provided you get the unlocking charm "Alohomora" for those pesky locked doors!).From finding the bathroom that holds the (inaccessible, since you're not a parselmouth) chamber of secrets, to discovering the secret passage behind the One Eyed Witch statue, everywhere you have wanted to explore yourself is at your disposal. If you are a Harry Potter fan in any capacity, at least consider picking this up. Don't listen to the controversy online about the game, buying this game does not make you a bad person.
Hogwarts legacy is hands down every harry potter fan’s utopia and dream come true! This amount of detail and beauty this game consists is iff the charts.First of all let me tell you that wide open world games arent my main thing, but there are a few exceptions (ghost of tsushima, death stranding, god of war) and Hogwarts legacy is definitely one of them exceptions! The things that you can do are endless, and everything is straight fleshed out from the Rowling books and movies. I initially believed that this game might stress the hell out me, since I expected it to be super open world, with lots and lots to do for 100+ hours and so forth. However, I find myself to feel otherwise anytime I play it. The game itself is very and I mean VERY relaxing! I initially believed that this game might stress the hell out me, since I expected it to be super open world, with lots and lots to do for 100+ hours and so forth. However, I find myself to feel otherwise anytime I play it. The game itself is very and I mean VERY relaxing! By means of the main quests, story plot, environments. During your walkthrough, you will find that you have an incredible variety of everything, and its always going to take you to “go with the flow” kind of thing. In other words, you want feel bored doing like a chore, or anything on that end. Literally the game changes subject, and material in every little thing you might do! From potions class, to learning spells, from visiting hogsmeade and have a walk to buy your broomstick, to exploring caves and dungeons while fights dark wizards. Wow! And thats just a fraction of said variety. You can craft, your own potions, herbs, make friends from other classes, travel across the world map with your broom <> and help fellas in the wizarding world for somegood rewards. The only downside on this game, is that it can be really frustrating on the inventory/gear management…and I mean thats really a pain in the butt for quite some time in the game. Allas you do the merlin trials (which I suggest you do first thing) you will constantly have to get rid of cloth items through your gear menu, in order to accept the ones you will get from chests - and believe me, you will keep running into all sort of chests literally everywhere you are. At this point I want to give the game a 9/10 for its tremendous variety in both gameplay, and content. It will probably take some time till I get to finish everything on this, so I might have to come back and update this.
I haven't had this much fun since exploring the Boston area in post nuclear war within the game "Fallout 4". You'll see similar testaments comparing this to Skyrim. Its rare for an open world game to have this level of emersion... and the attention to detail is stellar.Explore Hogwarts with various secret passageways, explore towns and other small castles 10x further away than Hogsmed, collect pets, brooms, items... decorate your own "house" in the room of requirement (which grows far larger than you expect), on and on I could go.Various extravagant details include kids talking and practicing spells on eachother, studetns receiving "howlers" in the hallway with parents yelling at them via the talking letter, a traveling music performer who buys a new instrument ... MoreI haven't had this much fun since exploring the Boston area in post nuclear war within the game "Fallout 4". Go on... explore one of your favorite mythical worlds!
It’s a lot to unpack. There’s a lot of things happening alongside the main plot. Even when exploring, there’s a lot to see and do you dont feel like walking to the edges of the discoverable/playable area. I did stumble across one bug that halted the game loading. This bug showed an incompletely rendered area somewhere outside the greenhouses on the hogwarts grounds. This resulted in the game not being able to load/resumed. Solved, by loading another game slot. Thankfully not much game play was lost by loading a previous saved slot. Other than that, there’s so much to do. The score is along the same thread as the film franchise but different enough to distinguish the very storyline. You get a lot for the price tag. Even better with the pre-order/prime ape discount.

It was a Christmas gift that i gave him early because he got his full 2 days off for the first time in almost 7 months. I knew he was a gamer going into this relationship and it's completely fine with me. We are able to have space. I like the time to myself as well. This game has given us the space we have needed. He loves to tell me all about what he did in this game when we talk during his breaks at work. I haven't seen him this excited about a game in a couple years. I got him another that he got for Christmas, but he chose to play this first. Great game!! Especially for a dedicated gamer and a loner woman.
10/10 game. This should’ve won awards this year, but it doesn’t matter, just buy it and you’ll see how good it is. For anyone who grew up reading/watching Harry Potter, it’s a dream come true. It hits all the nostalgic points, and you really do feel like you’re going to Hogwarts. The map is so well-fleshed out, there’s so much to do and explore. The combat is actually really nice, you feel so cool doing your spells and counter-spells. I haven’t finished the main story yet, about 50% through it (I’m a completionist when it comes to side quests though) but it’s a very intriguing storyline and I’m enjoying it a lot. I'll admit maybe I haven't given it much of a chance but for some reason the game really just didn't grip me. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and even that didn't make a difference. The game is undoubtedly gorgeous but I found myself yawning a lot of the time and forcing myself to keep playing. I'm still playing currently because I really do want to enjoy it but it's harder than it should be. It feels super fast paced and all the parts where I want to be immersed in, are the moments so so sped up. The arriving at hogwarts, the sorting hat, seeing my dorm room for the first time, and my actual classes went by in almost 2x speed and it didn't allow me to feel immersed in the world. This may be enjoyable for some people but it really wasn't for me. This may be enjoyable for some people but it really wasn't for me. On another note, this may be a preference to some, but so much of the gameplay became endless voice lines where you end up reading ahead and skipping before the actual voices finish. If you have played genshin impact you'll know how this feels. As a majoritively story based singleplayer game I was hoping for more cinematics and they lost me there. The gameplay on the other hand is kind of fun, it's very 'souls' influenced, if you know what I mean by that, which is alright. It almost feels to easy, standing far away with a wand spamming your automatically aimed spells. I understand that I've kind of just ripped the game to shreds but if you are a Harry Potter fan I recommend you give it a go, it may just be my own preferences interfering and keep in mind this is just my own opinion of the game.
