I have been playing for several years. You can create your own community and take care of the people there. You have to buy clothes and food. On this game you can get married and have children, make friends. A good feature of this game is that you can switch your friends ' characters on to yours and mine onto theirs.

A quirky and fun game to pass the time!

Let me start by saying that this game is like a mix of Animal Crossing, the SIMS and Wario Ware on acid! You get to have your own little island where you can create miis who will live there.Positives:There's plenty of interaction to have as you feed, dress and play with your miis and even help them out with problems, make friends, fall in love and have children. You can even create your own songs for them to sing and peek in their dreams and see some really quirky stuff while gaining special items in the process. You're able to customize everything with your miis from their physical look, right down to their voice and personality. Different personalities will prefer different things, so your island could be nice and peaceful or it could turn into a huge soap ... MoreLet me start by saying that this game is like a mix of Animal Crossing, the SIMS and Wario Ware on acid! Different personalities will prefer different things, so your island could be nice and peaceful or it could turn into a huge soap opera (hint: keeping the miis well fed will make them more friendly and willing to interact with others). It's recommended to have many types of personalities to keep things fresh. There is a HUGE amount of treasures, food, clothing, apartment backgrounds and other goodies to be collected. Most of these items can be given to your miis, but the treasures are used to sell for money. Gaining money is super easy in this game, especially if you keep your miis happy, so you never have to worry much about running out. Even so, there are plenty of other things to do which are free, like rap battles, going to the amusement park and going to the concert hall. One of the more entertaining parts of the game is watching your miis interact with each other. Some of them wind up saying and doing some hilarious things which you might not expect.Negatives:Nintendo's been pretty good with keeping their games rated E for everyone, so certain bad words won't be allowed to be used. However, the system can be manipulated if a word is misspelled, but pronounced similar to the bad word, so it's not perfect. While the games are entertaining, I do think there could be a little more variety.Once all your miis go to bed and their dreams have been viewed, you might as well turn the game off because none of them will wake up until about 6am real time.Overall, I think this is a nice, quiet game to pass the time and it has a lot of charm to it. It might not be a game that you'll play forever, but it's definitely worth your time.

It's simple, but the range of rooms and clothing to buy really brings out the personalities of your characters, and you can also give them gifts and catchphrases and everything. It's also fun to see who will end up in relationships and how the babies will turn out. A hidden gem that's definitely worth your while!

Arrived fast- a weird, but fun game
16 November 2022

Shipped very quickly! Game exactly as I wanted, and all it’s hyped to be. It’s kinda like a more interactive version of animal crossing, but with miis you can customize and change instead of villagers. The only thing I wish is that there was more minigames to do, or ways to interact with your island more after doing daily tasks and talking to your islanders. Also, I wish there was a way to have Lgbt relationships without making one of the characters the opposite gender. And also the ability to set characters as siblings without them being related to you, so characters unrelated to you who are related don’t try to date. But that’s more up to nintendo, and i’m not sure there is gonna be much more updates for the game since it’s quite a bit old now.Tldr: good game! ... MoreShipped very quickly! I love Tomadachi Life game!
6 December 2016

After viewing this game on U-tube vids I knew I had to own it. It's highly addicting to play. I can make my game characters act & look like adults with grown up behaviors. The first day I played it I added 7 characters, built a substantial town and this was in about 6 hours of play time. (This is a real-time game -> must be played daily to get the most out of game play.) This game is hard to find in a "brand new" unopened condition. I had it in my "save for later list" 3 times since last year, every time when I finally had enough money (almost $40) it get it, it was sold out. I just recently got it for about $19 + tax. through online & store pick up. Oh yeah, I'm so glad I finally own this game. It's even better the then the "old school" Sims games. Thanks Walmart! :D

Lalique's review of Tomodachi Life

Tomodachi Life has great potential as a game but there is just not enough content to justify the price or it being a physical cartridge game.I think if Tomodachi Life had maybe been a game for Mii Plaza or a cheaper little game in the eShop then yes, it would be well worth it. The overall atmosphere and the quirkyness are great. There's no other game as weird as Tomodachi Life. I thought the visuals were attractive and the music was entertaining. There's just no gameplay.Perhaps I went into it with the wronf attitude. I'm always looking for games I can devote hours of time into whereas Tomodachi Life is something you quickly open to pass some time on your bus journey. For that, I think it should be a small game in the eShop. That being said, yes, I do recommend ... MoreTomodachi Life has great potential as a game but there is just not enough content to justify the price or it being a physical cartridge game.I think if Tomodachi Life had maybe been a game for Mii Plaza or a cheaper little game in the eShop then yes, it would be well worth it. It looks good, sounds great and there's many funny jokes and surprises from your Miis. I just personally didn't think it was what I wanted it to be and for that, I'm sorry I rated it so negatively.

So Different Than Other Games
26 August 2014

First off this is not your average game. There are no bad guys or hard levels to beat, but rather its a game where your little Mii characters are living their lives. It is like The Sims meets Animal Crossing, if that makes sense. You can really do so much with this game that I know I haven't even explored everything the game has to offer.First you create your Mii character from scratch or re-create them from a photo (that is pretty cool.) You can also of course import any Mii characters you already have into the game. Want a celebrity in your game? Not a problem! You can get more Miis from the game's official website. You can customize everything about your Mii from their hair style and color down to the pitch of their voice! Yes they have voices with actual ... MoreFirst off this is not your average game. You can customize everything about your Mii from their hair style and color down to the pitch of their voice! Yes they have voices with actual words! No more jibberish! The Mii characters then go off and live their lives on the island, but thats not the end. You need to monitor them to make sure everyone is happy and you don't want to miss anything crazy going on! The interactions can be pretty surprising and hysterical! My kids loved creating their characters and watching them explore the island. I love that I didn't have to worry about violence or struggling to complete missions. There are little somewhat missions to complete but they are not hard and not required. The player is basically there to intervene if there are Miis not getting along or if they need something (food, clothing, medicine, i.e...) I admit too I love watching to see what the Miis are up to and whether they like the stuff we gave them.Tomodachi Life is a game that is really hard to explain because its so unlike other games, but it is definitely a unique one to check out. There is some reading required in the game, but other than that it is pretty self explanatory. It is rated "E" for Everyone.I received this game to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

I can tell the creator put I lot of work into this game because of all the entertainment that is on this game is very exciting!! You just have to try this game!! Tomodoachi Life is not a game for everyone...heck, it's hardly a game at all. What it IS...well, it's a weird little program where you make digital representations of people (friends, celebs, or your own creations) in the form of good old Mii's, drop them on an island, and see what they do. They live, they love, they procreate (by simply telling you they had a kid out of NOWHERE...only when married, of course). You can play little minigames and use in-game cash to buy the Mii's stuff, give them advice...it's pretty simple. The appeal of the game is really in the situations that occur. I've had quite a few great laughs from this title in a way that you don't often get with more traditional games. pretty good went back to my childhood 4 a bit init. really brought me to my breaking point though. the heartbreak i endured was shocking and i feel more fulfilled having purchased and played this game. this was such a throwback and i definitely recommend it as it can be really similar to the irl (the real life) i feel the game is suitable for people of any age because the wrinklies grew up with the ds anyway. i strongly believe that this game deserves an oscar. #speakingfromtheheart
