This game stays true to its formula. WarioWare Gold has you doing microgames; which are short tasks like chopping a vegetable, jumping over an obstacle, skiing down a hill, answering a question, doing a picture puzzle, etc.It sounds simple, with each microgame taking about 4 seconds to complete, but with each round things get faster and trickier. Mess up four times and it's game over.Being on the 3ds you will be using the stylus, blowing into the mic, tilting the 3ds, and of course using the d-pad and buttons. This game is rated E for everyone, but Wario has a persona like no other so expect his crude humor to be front and center. This is a full retail priced game. This game is great for veterans of the WarioWare franchise as well as newcomers playing their first WarioWare game. It contains a huge library of microgames, mixing it up with old classic microgames from past iterations of WarioWare along with completely new microgames made for this game. In addition, it includes challenges for these microgames, remixing all the games for one continuous run, or implementing custom rules to keep you on your toes. I fully recommend this game if you are a fan of testing your reactions and muscle memory, because this game will put your skills to the limit.

Great mixup of past Wario Ware games

This is a really good Wario Ware game. It has full voice acting for the first time with an excellent group of voice actors. There is a really high replay value too. I was able to beat the game in one day as Wario Ware games are short but you can keep playing to unlock all the micro games and unlock other features. It's unfortunate that the game was released so late on the Nintendo 3DS instead of the Switch but I understand why. This is a great game for newcomers and long time fans like myself, so hopefully Nintendo continues to make more Wario Ware games on future consoles.

If you like WarioWare, you'll love this one too

Typically voice acting in certain Nintendo games hasn't gone well. This game however, does it superbly. If you enjoy the humor and gameplay of previous WarioWare games, you will no doubt enjoy this entry into the series too. This game also proves that Nintendo could easily make something that could be sold and played on your phone. The 3DS isn't bad by any means but to sell this title on Android or iOS would earn this series the true mainstream success it truly deserves.

Perfect game to play anytime, anywhere
11 August 2018

WarioWare Gold is an incredibly simple, yet deeply intuitive game. Playing a 5-second "microgame" with controls as simple as pushing one button to tilting your system is already novel, but when coupled with having you then play multiple of them one after another, only getting faster the more you play, then you have a winning formula for game that can be enjoyed by anyone. And since these games can go by so fast, it's simply ideal when you have a few minutes to even literal seconds to kill. Whether you're a long time fan of the WarioWare series or this will be your first, WarioWare Gold is a must-have for any 3DS/2DS owner.

Pick-up and play fun!

This is a fun and accessible mini-game collection. Whilst it’s fairly easy to beat, there are loads of reasons to return. The game has lots of extras and long-term challenge if you like striving to achieve high scores. The graphical style and humour are typically Japanese and the music is excellent throughout. This is a game you can dip in and out of for weeks, if not months. A nice palette cleanser after an evening playing Fire Emblem or Pokémon. Recommended.

Takes Time to Find the Gold
23 June 2021

Warioware Gold is the continuation of the Warioware franchise on the 3DS. With over 300 microgames, there is definitely a lot of content. The issue is the best content is at the end. If you haven't played a Warioware game before it involves a lot of very quickfire "games" where you have to quickly follow instructions to beat the game. these are split into different types based off mash (buttons), touch and twist. The story mode is ok, and keeps things fresh.Where it reall picks up though, is the challenge mode which starts to mix and match. Then the full potential of the game is realized.

The best Warioware game; gets better after story!
17 August 2018

If you like the WarioWare series you will love this. Many great added levels. For the fantastic "Sneaky Gamer" alone, worth it. If you never played Warioware, this is addictive fun. But, the true beauty of this game comes with the collectibles. Where you open up a dozen arcade quality games that have little to do with WarioWare. And, the greatest bonus of all: get every unlock-able and open up a big, deep turn-based card game called "Wario Kard" (get it?) This game will give you over 100 hours of great quality gaming. A must MUST buy. Heck, Im even carrying my 3DS with me again...and I own a switch too!

Wario Ware gold is a nice entry to cap off the series up to this point. It's crammed full with most of the best microgames of the series, which is nice since the DIY and Wii U entry left a bit to be desired for fans of the series. Honestly the only downside to this game is that it would have been great to get it on the Switch. But since a lot of the games use the two screens and mix of buttons and touch screens I understand why they didn't. It has all the characters you expect, and fully voiced too. Besides the great selection of microgames, there's a lot of other fun side content too, though unlocking them is kind of weird with a capsule minigame to get them. They are pretty funny, and be sure to scan Wario amiibo if you have it. Otherwise you know what you're going to get, a best of WarioWare with all the good mini games from the Original, and DS entries. If you enjoyed any of the previous games, and still have your 3DS, I would definitely pick it up.

Wario Strikes Again with Warioware Gold!
8 February 2019

Great game! It requires you to think quickly and learn what each of the 300 microgames do, so you can get a high score. New games have been made for the game, and previous ones have been reworked to use the controls of the 3ds. The synopsis is the Wario has stolen a gold artifact and later wants to buy pizza, but has no money to do so. After watching a video game commercial for a game thats "selling like hot cakes", Wario calls up all of his friends to make microgames for him, to which he makes a contest out of it to see which one can win one million coins. The game itself is nice. All the cutscenes for the characters are fully animated and voiced over, each following a mini-plot. They each have games to play, which after playing once, unlocks to play on Arcade and Index mode. Theres also missions yoy can complete for money, and a gamemode that unlocks upon completing Story (not listing it as I don't want to spoil it). And as you earn coins, they can be used to buy various assorted objects. The game mechanics work well enough, I haven't had issues with them at all. Mash uses the circle pad/d-pad and A button, Touch uses the touch screen, Twist uses motion controls (that actually work better than I originally thought), and Blow uses the microphone. Overall, the games works well and it's microgames are fun. I highly recommend this for Warioware fans and for those who like to improve upon their high scores.
