I've been a lifelong sufferer of dandruff and have unsuccessfully tried most of the anti-dandruff shampoos and scalp conditioners in drugstores as well as a couple prescription-only shampoos. I also had bad postpartum hair loss so decided to try this. Not only did this significantly diminish my hair loss (strands instead of clumps of hair coming out), it also did a better job of curbing my dandruff than any other product I've used. It didn't cure it, but it stemmed it significantly. I do find that the dandruff part seems to lose efficacy if you keep using it for a couple months, so I use the system for 3 weeks and non-dandruff stuff for 1 week, and that cycle seems to work.

My brother has been using this cuticle treatment plus the Nioxin kit for 4 weeks and we’re all so impressed with the results! For context, he is white, aged 38 with dark brown / black hair. The thinning was mostly around the crown area and front hairline although there was a general all over reduction. His hair, in as little as 4 weeks (the product requires a much longer period of use for best results) is fuller and thicker both to touch and visibly. There’s no requirement for products to ‘soak’ or ‘leave in’ giving a wet treatment look, they’re either mixed with your current products or they replace your normal shampoo and conditioner. Meanwhile, I have a lot of positives to say about the shampoo, but the scalp therapy (aka conditioner) has done the usual trick of making my roots greasy. VERY greasy. Perhaps even greasier than ever before. I'm ditching this in favour of my old Alverde non-siliconey one, but will continue with the shampoo for a bit. Thank goodness I bought the trial sized ones!!!I am getting desperate..... I have thyroid disease and my hair and eyebrows are coming out in clumps. It's matted, stretches and breaks when I comb it (only with conditioner in it) and basically looks like the homework after the dog got it.I have used this system twice now. My scalp loves it. I love the minty smell, so that's not an issue..... It certainly looks fuller, but it's kinda, um..... crispy. I decided to use the leave-in scalp treatment only on the baldy bits at the side (still crispy) but the rest feels better. Will delay my verdict until I've given it a more thorough work-out.Their reconstructive treatment is WONDERFUL as well.......

Good product, but quite pricey.

I received this product to test as a member of the Boots Product Review panel. - When offered the choice of the Nioxin products to review I chose this over the hairspray as I don't use hairspray. The packaging is standard and simple, it's not fussy and the pump is easy to use. I did find that this was quite tingly and parts of my scalp did go quite red - I would be wary of using this if you have reactive skin. My partner also used this alongside my and found that the hair around his widow's peak looked thicker, and I found the same with my own hairline. This is a good product and I think the price is reasonable for the amount you receive.

I have to say best thing in the market so far. I have noticed baby hairs growing back after using the Nioxin 3 part system then after using the Hair booster cuticle protection. I aso have very thin hair and after using the wholecollection MY hair has never looked so much fuller and thicker. I highly recommend!

I alternate this with my Lush shampoo bar and conditioner because my hair has been thinning, due to stress/changes in life. My hairdresser told me that the Nioxin system is one of the only things she noticed change in her clients' hair. So I have been using this system for five months.I wash my hair in the morning. I used the shampoo and conditioner with every shower, but since the shampoo can feel "stripping", I alternate now. On my last visit to the salon, my hairdresser noticed a huge change from my previous appointment 5 weeks earlier. My hair seems to have succumbed to stress.I have shampooed my hair every day for 4 weeks, and used the scalp treatment and scalp therapy religiously. Other than hairspray, I did not use any other products, and I also stopped using the flat iron. I relied on my fingers, a round brush, and in some cases some velcro rollers on the top. A week into the treatment, I noticed some frizzy ends, but those have disappeared. I have been given the ok to use quality water soluble styling products such as Aquage (not the wax it is silicone based). I may look into the Nioxin styling products, but truthfully my hair does not look bad just using the kit. I might add that some reviewers who say this did not stop hair loss or otherwise improve the condition of their hair may have continued to use products that work against Nioxin. I do see the difference in texture, new growth and thickness. It was a blessing to hear this confirmed by my hairdresser.These products are no more expensive than other salon products, and really do the job. The scalp therapy needs to be shaken well to get the foam consistency required. The scalp treatment IS rather thick and hard to get out of the bottle.You can also order travel sizes in refillable bottles but be careful as I saw a travel "kit" that was not refillable. You could probably use regular travel size bottles from the drugstore, but I would still buy the travel size scalp therapy because of the foam application.

Really works

This stuff really works. I've used it for years; is the only reason hair has regrown. Use as a spot remedy as a little goes along way. The only reason I don't give five stars is the price for amount in bottle. If you can afford only one product for hair loss challenges, I recommend this as the one and only.

I have not used booster over the last few months and my hair which is very fine coloured hair has thininned around my face area hairline. Only reason I was not using 3d booster was due to scalp and hair treatment I was using and thought this would have same effect so I am back using the hair booster and will continue as the results are incredible. I use nioxin system 3 shampoo and conditioner and will be returning using their products. I will still mix it up between brands but at present will be using only nioxin until my hair thickness picks up again. It may seem expensive but it is worth every cent.

I massage into my scalp and leave this on for about three minutes as recommended (it is very important that you do put the conditioner on your scalp for the treatment to work) and it leaves my hair feeling soft and looking healthy. The only thing would say with this is to perhaps have another, cheaper conditioner that you can use on the length of your hair. I say this because, if you have long hair like me, you will need quite a lot of it to cover all your hair. The mouse, i have noticed people commenting on it leaving their hair stiff. I've found that by putting 1-2 pumps in to my hand and then using my fingertips to massage it into my scalp works best. I would say to use this on a night though as my hair does go a little hard at first, but by the morning it is totally fine. Overall, i would highly recommend this product to anyone who is wanting thicker, healthier and less oily hair.
