I've bought Surefire in the past, but they wear our just like anything else. The tail cap switch fails and their lifetime warranty doesn't cover tailcaps or other parts that wear out. I decided to go for a better price point and I'm glad I did! This Nightcore light feels solid, has multiple brightness levels and the UV mode is an awesome feature. Also the brightest flashlight I've ever had. Feels solid and good quality.

The good: The light has a good balance of throw and spill for law enforcement. I like that it uses usb-c cords to charge but the rubber cap will eventually break off and get lost. The rotating ring design on the P22R is a better charge port cover. Iam a fan of the mode switch being on the tailcap because it's easy to find. The plastic holster feels a bit cheap but we'll see how it holds up to duty use. The size is good and could almost be an edc.The bad: My biggest issue with this light is, Nitecore didn't include brightness memory like pretty much every other light out there. Everytime you turn it on, it goes directly to high. Maybe in future models include a civilian mode that goes ultra low, low, medium, high with memory.

I wanted a tactical flashlight that had a long throw for a large yard...I did compare other brands, but decided to go with Nitecore. I originally was looking at the i4000r, but chose the P20i due to its brightness, long throw, and it's minimalistic approach to mode/function, so you don't mistakenly change the mode or brightness by mistake. This flashlight is excellent! Great price, great build quality, and great performance. It's brighter, and has about the same throw as my 2 + 3 D Cell LED Mags, + at a third of the size. I highly recommend the P20i to anyone looking for a true tactical flashlight. The only two minor cons, (at least to me) is it takes a special type battery (not standard top batteries), and it would of been nice if it had button guards, or, an ...Ā MoreI wanted a tactical flashlight that had a long throw for a large yard...I did compare other brands, but decided to go with Nitecore. This is a great tactical, duty light with a very simple, intuitive UI. It is one of the best on the market for it's intended use. The beam is an excellent combo beam with plenty of spill and a large, wide spot, with plenty of reach. There is a lot of useful light at 1800 lumens. Medium and low are excellent for close range searches. Although it could be used as one, it is not an optimal edc light. There is a wide gap between the medium and high outputs that might be better served by other designs intended for edc uses. This is a rugged tank of a duty light. The proprietary battery doesn't bother me, but it may be a concern to some. I bought this as a bundle with a spare 5000 mAh battery for $10 more. It's well worth it.
I really like this flashlight. Itās definitely bright enough. If itās too bright for what youāre doing you have an option to lower it 2 times. As I mentioned in the title, the flashlight needs better insulation. The handle gets super hot and within minutes of having it on. Basically you need to hold the handle near the bottom to get away from the āhot endā. Iām surprised itās allowed to be that hot really.
The light rocked! Small, precise, BRIGHT! The āsnapā holster it came with - that cost me $90. The reason itās that expensive, is because it doesnāt hold the light from being bumped out, jarred loose, you get the point. Anyway, the great and worthwhile light is now at the bottom of some storm drain. Got out of the car, light fell out of the holster, and āplopā, before I could make any attempt to save it - down the storm drain along with the signal cap I purchased also. Thanks for the few memories we had...you were my favorite light.
It is a great flashlight! Very bright and easy to use. Like the button controls. However, when you include a lanyard... it sort of implies there is an obvious and functional place to attach said lanyard. Just do it like the P12. Easy peasey and now I can let go of my $70ish flashlight without fear... the tactical holster is great for quick retrieval, but a viable nylon holster is better for those of us who EDC, but donāt necessarily need quick retrieval or use that often. With this said I really need to let you know how the P18 could have been the greatest flashlight made by man for EDC, but is now my greatest utility drawer flashlight.
This is a fantastic light, and nearly perfect tactical, duty light! The UI is extremely simple, and the 3 levels are perfect for it's role. The light has excellent throw with plenty of spill. Runtimes are very good. Some may not care for the proprietary battery, but it's a good one. The 5000 mAh battery is a great option, and increases runtimes. It's worth getting, and use the original as a spare.I am purchasing a second for my dad. He's a retired old man that likes to sit on his deck and light up his large backyard. I'm tired of buying CR123s, and the simple UI is perfect for him. His neighbors are going to hate me!
The P12 Nitecore flashlight that I just got from Overstock is one of the best flashlights that Nitecore has...with a bigger battery that comes with this kit makes the flashlight very very bright. Everything that I've read about this flashlight is spot on...pun intended...rhis light comes with everything that you need to wirk right out of the box, the flashlight even comes with a holster. This thing is very tactical and now my new EDC...every day carry...I definitely recommend this flashlight to anyone looking for a tactical or every day carry flashlight. You wilk not be disappointed
While overall I like the P20i, I have one complaintwith Nitecore stating on the literature I read about thislight that, it's powered by a 21700 battery. Problem is that it isn't until you receive the light, that you realize the 21700 battery it uses is not a standard 21700 battery. Its actually a NL2140 proprietary battery that is quite a bit longer and more expensive than a standard 21700 battery and, will not fit in most stand alone chargers. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for this.
