NITTAKU Premium 3 Star Table Tennis Balls - White

These are completely newly developed products. At the moment they recommend to buy only small units of the new balls, because the durability, the quality and the selection procedures are not yet optimized. The conventional celluloid balls currently clearly have the better durability. The manufacturers are currently working hard to continuously improve the quality of the Cell-Free balls. They would like to point out that the shorter shelf life is at least a temporary feature of the new Cell-Free / plastic ball generation and can neither be claimed by them nor by the producer as a quality defect. Currently only white Cell-Free balls are produced. Whether and when orange balls will also be available is still unknown. Background to the introduction of the Cell-Free-/ Plastikball: Celluloid is a dangerous good and as a production material on its way back worldwide. Access to celluloid resources is therefore no longer assured for the next few years. In order to ensure the continuation of the sport of table tennis, the ITTF called some years ago for the search for a material which is not dangerous and which is available worldwide in sufficient quantities and on a permanent basis. The ball manufacturers have found the solution of the plastic ball with the ITTF.

It could be my imagination, but I think these feel/perform better than the same product I have bought through Amazon. Here the shipping is extra, but might be worth it in the final analysis.

These last a very long time and/or take a lot of heavy hitting during serious practice sessions (last over 32 hours). Using a a 30 hour practice ball produces virtually the same 'feel' as a New ball out of the box for games. Not as "flighty" as some but solid.

Seems like the quality has improved. The first balls I bought when they came out broke easily. Now they last longer.

Best ball ever

These balls are tough, fast and well rounded, they also have a good spinning. It's a great pleasure playing with Nittaku premium !

Best balls I have played with.

I highly recommend this brand. they are perfectly round and respond quickly to any stroke. compared to other brands i have used that are more durable and I think they have a more solid feel when I hit it.

So far so good. But that's the problem with immediately reviewing a product like this. If all the balls crack by the end of the summer then my review would be very different. I've only used one ball on several occasions but it has been very good (in my humble opinion as a club player). And my opponents have concurred and looked to see what the ball is - although that could be interpreted either way! The ball flight is consistent and predictable, the bounce/grip off the table too; definitely much better than a cheaper 1 star ball as you would expect. As for the price, it seems fair given alternative quality 3 star balls. As to value, I take the view that (a) I spend far more s driving to my TT club each time so it does not seem worth worrying about; and (b) why would ...Β MoreSo far so good. Highest quality as always from Nittaku

I've used the Nittaku 3 star premium balls (celluloid) for many years, and this is my first purchase of the plastic balls. They are the same highest quality I always expect from Nittaku.

Quality does not justify the price
22 January 2019

I don't feel like they are worth what they cost. I am far from a pro, but I feel like the DHS 40+ balls I bought are just as nice and 1/10th the price. The Nittaku balls have fairly rough seems for a premium product. I am glad I tried them, but I will not buy them again
