As someone with curly hair and a long-time battle with stubborn dandruff, I must say that Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo has been a game-changer for addressing my dandruff issues. The results in combating flakes and itchiness have been impressive, which is why I'm giving it four stars. This shampoo's active ingredient, ketoconazole, has definitely made a significant difference in reducing dandruff and soothing my scalp. Within just a few uses, I noticed a noticeable improvement in the amount of dandruff present, and the itchiness subsided considerably. However, as much as I appreciate Nizoral's anti-dandruff properties, I have to be cautious with its impact on my curly hair. The formula can be slightly drying, especially if used too often. Overall, Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is an effective solution for dandruff, and I would highly recommend it to those dealing with persistent flakes and irritation. If you have curly hair like me, just remember to balance its use with proper conditioning to keep your curls happy and healthy.

I started getting dandruff in the recent year. I’ve never had dandruff before and my hair stylist advised me to stop using dry shampoo. I stopped using dry shampoo for the last 6-7 months or so and I’m still getting dandruff. I have an extremely oily scalp. My hair will by oily within 24 hours of watching it in case that makes a difference. Anyway, I bought this shampoo and it didn’t do anything for my dandruff. If anything, it made the flakes bigger. I went through one entire bottle and gave up. In addition to this not working for me, it made my hair extremely dry and doesn’t smell great. It’s not a bad smell but it’s definitely bland.

I have a flaky scalp because of dandruff and this shampoo has helped so much! I wash with my regular shampoo (once or twice) then I lather Nizoral on my scalp and let it sit for a few minutes then I wash it out thoroughly. This shampoo has stripping ingredients so it is very drying. I follow up with a very moisturizing conditioner that I also let sit for a few minutes and I also use a leave-in conditioner and hair oil outside of the shower! Dandruff can feel embarrassing and frustrating and it can be overwhelming to try and overcome it but Nizoral really did help me a lot. Give it try and if it does not work, your scalp issues could be something more and maybe you should explore visiting a dermatologist.

This shampoo was recommended by my dermatologist for severe psoriasis on my scalp. I was pleasantly surprised and have used it off and on for over 15 years. It has ketoconazole, which makes it different from other over-the-counter dandruff shampoos. It also smells really good for a medicated shampoo. I use it when I have a flareup. And I use it for about a week to control the symptoms, then use it every other shampoo. I have naturally curly hair that is really hard to control and manage and the is sensitive enough that it doesn’t damage my hair and my hair actually looks great when I use it. It is definitely worth the price if you suffer from eczema, psoriasis, or embarrassing dandruff.
I actually bought this stuff to use as a face wash to help me with my acne. I've tried every face wash imaginable and also tried prescription face stuff and nothing would get rid of my acne :/ I only get acne on my chin, it's not very severe but it is constant and annoying (and I believe hormone related). I read online that using dandruff shampoo with "Ketaconazole" as the active ingredient as a face wash was really effective at getting rid of acne. I was skeptical, as I said I've tried everything from prescription creams, benzoyl peroxide, special face washes, natural products and oils and nothing seemed to work. This stuff surprisingly has cleared my face. I wash my face with this stuff in the morning and at night and let it sit for 1-2 minutes before washing off. ... MoreI actually bought this stuff to use as a face wash to help me with my acne. Also, I moisturize with Vaseline on my face overnight (another acne relief miracle worker I read online--no it doesn't clog your pores). If you have acne I would suggest looking up this product and Vaseline uses as well, worked for me. Hopefully my routine continues to work. If it doesn't
Game changer for itchy scalp with dandruff! I used this stuff yeeeaaars ago under a prescription and had to buy it when I found out it was sold on the shelf. So much less itching and flaking. 100% recommend. At first it seems kinda pricey at $27 for the bigger bottle but I wash twice a week and it is lasting quite a while. For being a medicated shampoo, it lathers so much better than any other shampoo of the same type. Very much worth it if your scalp drives you nuts. I was embarrassed for a long while over my flaking and it has gotten so much better.
For the last 4 years I’d been dealing with a ridiculously itchy scalp. My scalp would flare and it would become red and inflamed. I would also get bumps throughout my head. I’ve tried everything, all the shampoos you could think of (the tar shampoo was only a 2 day trial bc i just couldn’t handle the scent) and nothing would help. I took advise from people telling me i needed to “train” my hair. I went from washing my hair daily to only washing twice a week. This year i started noticing that the longer i went in between washes, the worse the itch and inflammation became. I started researching more and figured out that dandruff is usually NOT a sign of dry scalp but actually occurs due to an oily scalp. This year i started noticing that the longer i went in between washes, the worse the itch and inflammation became. I started researching more and figured out that dandruff is usually NOT a sign of dry scalp but actually occurs due to an oily scalp. I started washing my hair every other day and realizes that it helped my scalp a little but the inflammation and red bumps would not disappear. My doctor recommended i try this shampoo and in all honesty i almost didn’t try it out bc i was so over these drug store shampoos that didn’t seem to help. I’m so glad i picked it up because it was instant relief! I literally used this once and my scalp immediately felt better. I’ve now been using this for a month and a half and i will never try anything else! FYI: I use this directly on my scalp. I put some on my fingertips and massage my scalp. I try to let it sit for 3 minutes before i rinse it off. I use a different shampoo for the ends of my hair. I never tried this on my entire hair so I’m not sure how it makes your actual hair feel once it dries but i will say that my scalp feels better than ever. I don’t have any more red itchy inflamed bumps on my scalp. After 4 long years my scalp finally feels healthy again!
For years I had been searching for something to help my head and beard dandruff. I had tried other name brands, generic brands and even a ton of herbal/oils/home remedies. Nothing seemed to help. Especially with the skin under my short beard. It was always red and flaky. I read a couple reviews on this product and how much it really helped. Decided to give it a whirl. Tell you what, it made all the difference in the world for me. It suggests only using every 2-3 days. I followed it pretty close. Lathered up my beard and hair at the start of the shower and then let it sit until I rinsed at the end of the shower. Within 3 days... Dandruff in my hair... gone. Dandruff in my beard.... gone. I've had problems with what was called "dandruff" by other people since 1988. I was told by a dermatologist to use "Coal Tar" shampoo at the time, and in fact, it worked, but my skin would "scale" for a few days after. It's gotten worse as I've aged. I learned recently that what I've had in all that time is called "seborrheic dermatitis", which is a yeast/fungus condition on my scalp, and parts of my face, which apparently a large percentage of people have, but almost never causes problems. My Dad had it. I use this shampoo, it's the 1% that does it. I no longer have white stuff coming out of my hair, and I no longer have occasional red skin around my nose and into my beard. I use this once a week, often once every two weeks and the problem is all gone. It ... MoreI've had problems with what was called "dandruff" by other people since 1988. I use this once a week, often once every two weeks and the problem is all gone. It definitely kills the fungus/yeast that is present on my head and on my face in certain areas. It's expensive, seems like, but it took me 2 months to go through a 7 ounce bottle. So, I got the 14 ounce bottle, about $30. That's going to be about $8/month. That's less than normal shampoo on the monthly basis, and this shampoo is basically "medicine". It's actually CHEAP. However, if your root problem is NOT seborrheic dermatitis, you are just guessing if it will work for you.
so i’ve struggled with dandruff for a WHILE. like to the point that if i got braids done, my braids would have dandruff forming by the end of the week. i had found out about this shampoo thanks to tiktok and saw many good reviews so i bought it. i have 4c, thick, corse hair and this shampoo honestly didn’t do anything for my dandruff at all. i recently purchased it again thinking that maybe i wasn’t apply enough the first time or i was applying it wrong, but I wasn’t. this does give you some temporary relief for maybe up to a week, but for me i found my hair being itchy again not long after using this product. also, it is VERY stripping idk if i’m the only one who noticed that? my hair felt like literal straw after i finished washing my hair with this. overall won’t ... Moreso i’ve struggled with dandruff for a WHILE. like to the point that if i got braids done, my braids would have dandruff forming by the end of the week. i had found out about this shampoo thanks to tiktok and saw many good reviews so i bought it. i have 4c, thick, corse hair and this shampoo honestly didn’t do anything for my dandruff at all. i recently purchased it again thinking that maybe i wasn’t apply enough the first time or i was applying it wrong, but I wasn’t. this does give you some temporary relief for maybe up to a week, but for me i found my hair being itchy again not long after using this product. also, it is VERY stripping idk if i’m the only one who noticed that? my hair felt like literal straw after i finished washing my hair with this. overall won’t be purchasing it again and i wouldn’t recommend this to my 4c beautiful women.
