Made in China of course. But pretty sturdy and quiet. Good for a basic elliptical workout machine for the home. If you want to use the company's iFit training video suite be ready to shell out about $40 a month extra on top of the cost of the machine. That's over $400 a year ( or a complete gym membership in most areas...). This machine ships in a box, that will fit in the back of most SUVs or pickups. It will require at least two people to move it and assemble it once you get it out of the box. It is HEAVY. The nonmembership workout is just a typical timer and user selectable incline and resistance, while you pace around a racetrack. Which is fine for most people. I just received the NordicTrack AirGlide 14i Elliptical and opted for the assembly and disposal of my previous elliptical. There was no communication on the delivery date, but fortunately, I work from home and was available when they called 30 minutes prior to delivery. The delivery team set everything up, though it took about 30 minutes to get it level to prevent it from rocking side-to-side. I discovered adjustable feet on the bottom of the unit and provided a level to ensure it was just right.I was a bit concerned as the delivery guys had only installed a few of these and didn't seem very confident, especially since I plan to use it heavily. However, after using it for around 2 hours a day, five days a week for the past few weeks, it’s working beautifully. The machine is rock solid and glides smoothly.I'm 5'9" and 175 lbs, with moderate arthritis in my hip, and I can go for hours without a single jolt of pain. I love the incline and decline capabilities, which help change up the angle and intensity of the workout, a necessity when I'm on it for an hour at a time. The incline goes surprisingly high (make sure to measure your ceiling clearance) and very low, offering a great contrast to work the quads versus the hamstrings and glutes. The different levels are challenging. The handles are positioned perfectly for me, both the moving and stationary ones. I often place my hands on the bottom rung of the stationary handles, which can be more comfortable. The pedals are adjustable, though I haven't changed them.I was really impressed with the screen and the iFit app (including mobile app). While I don't use the programs (the one I did try lagged badly despite having fiber optic broadband), the stats are fantastic. Speed, heart rate (with the optional heart rate monitor), calorie burn, and many more are available at a quick glance. You can scroll through them and change to averages (e.g., average BPM). All the stats sync with the app on my phone and are easy to access and reflect upon. It takes some time to boot up, but it takes about a minute to get into a workout.Though I'm very happy with my purchase so far, there are a few things I would improve upon. The water bottle holder is too low, requiring you to reach far down to access it. I use it for my TV remote and have dropped the remote several times trying to get it. There's no cell phone holder or ledge, which is a significant oversight. I've never used the fan; I’d much prefer a ledge there to hold my phone or remote.I was disappointed to learn there is no built-in heart rate monitor. I purchased the $99 armband, which works well but is a hassle to put on and take off. Also, the band is cheaply made and I had to glue it when it broke after a few weeks of use. Almost all machines, including my old Schwinn, had a built-in heart rate monitor. That being said, I am very happy with my purchase. It's a really well-made machine.

The extra large display could be cool, unfortunately it's everything they don't offer that makes it pointless. I wish they'd just get rid of the big screen, give me a simple manaual control or make the screen useful and something I want, you know a feature instead of a sales gimmick.

I've had this machine for two months, and I am extremely disappointed with its performance. It is completely subpar, especially considering the high price. The iFIT feature is virtually unusable, with the screen lagging significantly despite having a download speed of 368.5 Mbps and an upload speed of 156.2 Mbps. Moreover, the machine lacks essential functions such as heart rate tracking. I regret not heeding the warnings and purchasing a Sole elliptical instead.
The Elliptical is really good, but its lacking on certain things. One, is a little bit light, Im a strong guy so if I go hard, it moves around and I dont like that. Also, the lack of a usb port for charging and a place to put your phone while you work out is honestly a huge miss on their part. I had to improvise and get a car phone holder that you put on the AC vent to use it on the elliptical vent for the fan.Other than that, it feels like a really well made product.
I bought this and when they came to install it, all the nuts and bolts were missing. The tech ordered the parts but come to find out he ordered the wrong ones so then I had to call Nordic to order the parts and they shipped them to me. Once I got the nuts and bolts, I can to call Best Buy to schedule an installation. By the time they completed the installation, come to find out it was missing 2 pins that connect the hand gliders to the foot track. Spent 45 minutes on the phone to convince Best Buy to come pick the item up. Scheduled the pick up for on a day we would be home and THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!Worst purchase ever. Best Buy didn’t even offer to just bring another one and set it up. Instead they were okay in just saying they’ll pick it up and not deal with me. ... MoreI bought this and when they came to install it, all the nuts and bolts were missing. I like to get intense cardio workouts and every time I workout, and this machine tends to be a bit unstable and rocks. Machine is in a mat over concrete. I’ve even moved it to another location and still having this issue. For future designs, have the opportunity to raise the screen at least another 12”, this can really cause discomfort on the neck when looking down, add the water bottle holder near top. Reaching for water as I’m working out makes me slow down to grab and place it back. Add a cell phone holder. I’ve added a velcro strip so I can attach my phone above screen. Maybe add streaming devises such as Netflix, Roku…It’s a pretty quiet machine and provides a routine moderate workout.
Resistance is horrible. I use ellipticals regularly and have had a Nordictrack elliptical in at home for years. This model’s resistance it too strong and level 1 feels like a gym elliptical 10-12 so your gassed after 5 minutes …tons of the same issue on Reddit withresistance. I just called for a refund after having a tech come and adjust the resistance manually with no results. They need to fix this issue that so many people are having with this unit.
The Airglide 14i Elliptical is an update to the former Commercial model. It's very smooth, easy to use and with the iFit membership (30-days free) almost entertaining depending on your selections. Walking tour of Ausrtralia or Ghost hunting in Boston to name a few... The machine is relatively easy to assemble, but HEAVY. It arrives in a long narrow box weighing 200 lbs. We did not elect to have White Glove assembly. The only hassle was the delivery which did not account for our long uphill driveway. The delivery guys moved it to the house (1/4 mile) using a hand dolly! The advantage of assembling it yourself is you get to understand how it goes together and can take care on the lubrication (and be aware of future maintenance needs.) The only hassle was the delivery which did not account for our long uphill driveway. The delivery guys moved it to the house (1/4 mile) using a hand dolly! The advantage of assembling it yourself is you get to understand how it goes together and can take care on the lubrication (and be aware of future maintenance needs.) Definite call out to Nordicktrack on providing such a nice set of tools with their machine. (Suggest you keep these handy near your machine because you will eventually need these.) The instructions are not too bad to follow. The video/computer based instructions are largely useless except perhaps occasionally showing assembly dynamics. It took about 45 minutes to carefully unpack the box. We did not follow the box directions as we would have had trouble "lifting the machine off the pallet. Instead we cut open the box in stages and unpacked starting from the top and one (long) side. We were careful in placement of all parts and checked the inventory with the instructions. There were no shortages. Assembly took well over 2 hours. We also placed it in the location and on the Mat BEFORE completing assembly (to keep the weight down. We have a high ceiling basement. But that is really something to check as you stand quite high on the machine in use. Getting the iFit account set up is a little fiddly. We did it on a computer first and then logged in with the machine. Also the machine does not necessarily need to be switched off as it goes into hibernation when not used. It does support multiple user accounts. But children are limited in age to 13 years note.In use the machine is very simple. Just follow the instructions or watch a couple of YouTube videos first on using an Elliptical. The nice thing with an Elliptical is it is low impact and so not hard on your joints. But don't confuse that as being soft exercise it is not. Also the Nordicktrack is the only machine where the control is remote to the fitness program. You will either love it or hate it. But to get full benefit you need to use the iFit membership....The one definite negative is PRICE of membership - $40 for a family. :( That's way too high. Best Buy Geek squad maintenance/service plan is more affordable than Nordictrack's own BTW so you may want to consider that.Over all we are very satisfied (so far) with our purchase. It is exactly what our family wanted. It takes a lot of space however, although perhaps a little less than our older Nordictrack incline trainer treadmill. That's still working after.... 18 years. Hopefully this will prove to be as robust and reliable. So highly recommended if you are looking for a very solid, smooth and easy to use Elliptical.
