A seriously heavy duty stationary bike!

I would recommend folks give this bike a try before buying it over the web. i would like to see a shutoff switch located on the 14" screen, an adjustable seat back, and finally a different set of pedals to help keep feet on the crank arms. I am an amputee and my prosthetic leg needs some help staying on the crank arms. Other than the aforementioned I find the bike very heavy duty and think it a very good buy. I appreciate the iFit workouts offered as a subscription service too.

I have had my bike for about two months. I am really enjoying my rides. There are some improvements I think they should make to the iFit app. I wish that I could listen to my own music through the speakers, so that I could listen to the trainer and the music that I like the best at the same time. Most importantly, however, I wish the app on my device was more accessible. I am visually impaired, and cannot read any of the menus or anything other than the names of the challenges or workouts that I want to do. It is a great struggle to be able to see how much time is elapsed, how much distance I’ve gone, What resistance I am at, and many other features. I’m having trouble finding the things that I want to do on the app and continue my workout series because of these issues.

I bought the R35 back in August 2022. It was delivered and the assembly instructions worked. I really like the construction, video interface, and iFit programs. Two issues: the resistance and the hand controls. The factory-installed resistance was brutal. I've been an avid biker for decades and I struggled to turn the peddles with a resistance above 10 out of 25. On YouTube I was able to find out how to adjust the resistance and got it back down to something reasonable. My wife (not a regular biker) has not yet tried it again after a difficult first attempt. Also, the buttons on the handles never worked. I tore down the bike to look for bad or loose wiring. I could not find any obvious broken wires, etc but in struggling to disconnect the the handle cable connection ... MoreI bought the R35 back in August 2022. I can live with the panel controls and forget about the handle controls. NordicTrack customer service leaves something to be desired. Still I will get much use out of the machine; particularly during Idaho's long winters when biking outside is not much of an option.

I had High Hopes for
26 October 2022

I had High Hopes for this recumbent bike to use at home. I really liked the one at the gym and assumed this would be the same if not better for the PRICE. The pedal is stiff and clicks, lots of money spent on video athletes riding their bike in beautiful places however anyone who can afford this bike has most likely been to those locations there already. The gain of the video is only the personality of the trainer, who are cute BTW. Its tough to be enthusiastic for 30 minutes and not sound like a broken record. while exercising I like to listen to music and watch Netflix etc. as well as my heart rate so I know if I am doing enough. I bought the wrong bike for what I was looking for. It has less features than the recumbent bike at the gym and my husband won't even use mine at home, He walks 20min to the gym instead. I hope it works for some people but sadly not for me. They don't take returns after 15 days so I am stuck with this expensive machine and going to make the best of it for now. iPhone will rest on the tablet edge so I can watch and listen. My dream bike would have a heart rate monitor, video screen where I could log into my entertainment apps.

Not what I was expecting
6 August 2022

This is hardly a "commercial" recumbent bike. For the price, I expected it to be more stable, have a holder for a device or magazine, the buttons popped out of the handles within the first few days, the pedals don't feel as study as the commercial bikes in the gym. I'm dissatisfied given the price point. It gets the job done... but just not the quality I was expecting from a NordicTrack. We have had a NordicTrack elliptical for almost 20-years. We have it serviced annually and have had to have some parts replaced, but it is rugged and sturdy. It has stood the test of time and has a commercial feel. It set the standard and expectation for this purchase high. However, like with most things, this boke has made us feel that NordicTrack has went down the same rabbit hole ... MoreThis is hardly a "commercial" recumbent bike. However, like with most things, this boke has made us feel that NordicTrack has went down the same rabbit hole as most other corporations, and has used outsourced labor and production to sell higher at a lower cost of production to increase its profits. I would have definitely returned this within the window, however, that is NOT and easy task! So, it remains for sale on my Facebook market account.

On-Off switch missing????
11 May 2023

Mechanically it is pretty solid My problem is with the monitor and software. The internal fan for the monitor started buzzing after one month and they are sending me another one I should get it within a month. Beware that according to the operator's manual you have to physically unplug it every time you use it then plug it back in it does not have an on and off switch or any way to safely shut down the monitor it's ridiculous it's like 1990s msdoss🤨

R35 - Sadly Disappointed - Junk
25 July 2023

Great concept - poorly executed. My R35 - so far had the flywheel replaced, speed sensor, and the right handle replaced due to poor build quality. So be prepared to become a bike mechanic to fix you R35. Waiting to sell it off in a yard sale or may just toss in trash so other folks will not be subjected to this piece of junk.

Service Quality & Surprises

I would have given this rating a "terrible" if not for the fact that the actual bike seems sturdy and smooth.I paid for the installation and set-up, but had to interrupt the installers right before they cracked open the flywheel to show them how to assemble part of the bike that they couldn't figure out. Was glad I stepped in when I did.I submitted a claim on 3/1/2023, which is still not resolved with a response as of 6/1/2023. A photo and video attached. After almost two months, the response I got was that the only email I could find was for software issues and I needed to redirect my message. The wait for a response, let alone a resolution, continues. The case # is 447551 is anyone at Nordic Track is watching reviews.Lastly, after using the free trial for a few ... MoreI would have given this rating a "terrible" if not for the fact that the actual bike seems sturdy and smooth.I paid for the installation and set-up, but had to interrupt the installers right before they cracked open the flywheel to show them how to assemble part of the bike that they couldn't figure out. The wait for a response, let alone a resolution, continues. The case # is 447551 is anyone at Nordic Track is watching reviews.Lastly, after using the free trial for a few weeks, I was not interested in the iFit membership and assumed because I had not provided a credit card for the membership that once the 30-day trial was over, I would be done. Rather, Nordic Track used the credit card from the purchase of my bike and auto charged the membership without any email warning or notification. Thankfully, they canceled the membership, but only refunded me after initially telling me they couldn't, because I indicated I would be disputing this with my credit card company. In retrospect, I should have bought the "older" model, at half the cost, as I assume the quality of the actual bike would be the same. Beware if you are buying this for the embedded fan, it is MUCH louder than the bike itself.Overall, good bike, but if you are hoping for ANY semblance of service and support, go elsewhere.

Very nice but...
29 April 2024

Nice bike. Easy assembly a and works fine after two weeks. Can't speak to its longevity, but their insistent push for 'maintenance/repair contract' worries me. It is very disappointing to find how few features are available without purchasing an Ifit subscription. There a few manual rides and a astounding simple manual mode. No basic simple exercise routines, like hill climb, interval, etc . If you do not purchase an Ifit subscription (for far more than a fitness club!). This a very disappointing implementation that will have me thinking twice about purchasing any more 'high-end' Ifit equipped gear. Buyer beware!

screen is slightly turned/angled to
29 May 2023

screen is slightly turned/angled to left and seems installed correctly. Feet straps are a bit short for large/wide feet. Seat back flex is a bit too stiff but manageable. Easy to adjust between 2 riders with very different heights. The iFit recurring change is excessive and it appears there is nothing on the display/music etc if iFit is discontinued. Reported calories burned is not derived from effort or weight and seems to be pre-programed for a ride time and specified resistance work. Less or more time or lower or higher resistance does not change the reported calories expended.
