BOUGHT THIS BOX WITHIN 6 MONTHS THE FLAP BROKE OFF FACE PLATE, THEN IN A VERY SHORT TIME THE FACE PLATE BROKE AWAY FROM BOX, CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, PHONE CALL QUICKLY CHANGED TO LIABILITY, I ENDED UP DOING A REPAIR MYSELF, PAINTWORK IS BAD HOWEVER I ASSUME ITS THOUGHT MOST PEOPLE WILL PAINT THEM TO MATCH THIER HOUSE.

I purchased this product a few weeks back. It is a very stylish letterbox that was easy to install. Selley's liquid nails (original) was used to secure it to an existing concrete pad as per the instructions. The first letterbox purchased had a crack in the side which Bunnings returned/swapped without any issues. The Avonlea is quite expensive compared to some other letterboxes available. I am however, very happy with my purchase.

I needed a new Letter Box & saw this one & absolutely loved the design. It was different to ones I had seen. Just had a garden makeover & needed a feature Letter Box. I have painted the light grey a creamy colour to match my house & it looks fabulous! Such a statement.
Mailbox looks very nice and adds class but is not very solid. It's quite light in weight and box area mail is delivered into, already has a hole in it. Way too thin. It's also very 'messy' as you can see and actually peel away the fibreglass coating. Can literally poke a hole through the bottom with my finger. So overall, this looks great on the outside, but very rough and weak on the inside
I love the look of my letterbox, but what should have been a simple install was far from it.The instructions are to use liquid nails to attach it to a paver or concrete slab. I went the paver route, but the bottom surface of the letterbox was uneven. I had to grind down multiple spots on the letterbox to get it to stop rocking on the low points and to sit level on the paver. I got it to a "good enough" state and the liquid nails seems to be holding it firm now, but I really shouldn't have had to grind down my band new letterbox to get it to sit level.
Very rough inside - no nice box that your mail falls into - it’s rough random shaped plaster inside. Very fragile on the outside plaster - be careful installing that it doesn’t chip or crack.
This was selected by a manager and my job was to supply and install it. After unboxing it was clear that some edges had been filled and touched up to pass the ‘quality check’. It also had a fresh chip on the top. Honestly for over $360 I’d expect better quality. Contrary to what others have said it is quite heavy.
I'm floored by how poorly this letterbox is made for its price. It only took a few years for the letter flap to tear out of the weak fibro and when I looked at the nut and washer attachment method, I'm surprised it even lasted that long. I had to use liquid nails to attach some timber strips inside the box and drilled through them (like the way you would repair a gyprock hole) so I could have something solid to anchor to. Shouldn't need to carry out these repairs for the price you pay for this.
Have had the letterbox about 12 months but very disappointed when the faceplate came away from the fibreglass body. Attachment fixture very poorly designed. Modified it to include a sturdier backing plate.Base was of unit was not level making installation more difficult that it needed to be.
