The super lightweight Core Plus with lots of features for even more performance, such as the reinforced NRG Air Carbon sole with a stiffness index of 8.0 and 5 ventilation openings for perfect ventilation. The seamless unibody construction reduces pressure points. Four inserts of breathable mesh and additional micro ventilation openings on the entire surface provide optimal ventilation. The SLW3 Dial- the only one with gradual loosening or complete opening at the touch of a button - ensures easy access and a perfect fit.

These shoes are not SPD compatible and marketing them as such is a lie. I had to buy an expensive adaptor kit to make these work, which I should not have had to do. There is an arcane video on this company’s website explaining that to make them SPD compatible you need to lift the sole and make a cut using a scalpel to force the cover over the SPD screws away. This is impossible and a fairly dangerous procedure to attempt inside a tight cycling shoe. Misleading and overpriced

I ordered a pair of Northwave Core Plus 2 Road Cycling Shoes. I was dismayed to find that the leather at the top of the shoes had already begun to pill off. I had high expectations for the quality of this product, particularly from a reputable brand like Northwave. It is disheartening to encounter such a significant flaw after only one wear.

I was just looking out for a great value shoe for indoor training and came across this shoe. It was just what I wanted, great value and the actual size was as as listed, I've a slightly wider foot and the fit was spot on. I've ridden a few times with them and they're comfortable and responsive. Would recommend if they're still on offer.

Very happy with NW cycling shoes. I wear size 45 in Shimano but 44 in Northwave. Toe box is wider than Shimano and heel locks in better than my 502 Shimano shoe. BOA dials are better in my opinion but the proprietary NW system is okay and adequate. I do have to tighten them periodically when out riding. Sole is stiff enough but I'm far from pushing out watts for stiffness to matter that much. All in all the NW Core Plus is a fantastic cycling shoe that won't break the bank. Recommended!
Excelnt cycling shoes. Good fit thanks to the Northwave dial configuration which alows quick and easy adjustments. I use it for recreational riding, approx. 600 km per month.
The quality of the shoe is good for the money however the release mechanism for the BOAS system is quite annoying.Instead of it releasing as you apply pressure, it requires individual clicks to release a tiny bit of tension. Requiring at least 30 odd clicks to get the shoe off. Strange design choice
These shoes are super comfortable but the outside material is tissue paper thin. The toe area scuffed and frayed after one day. I worry about their durability.
The shoe is really well finished and cared for, also ideal for long rides as it wraps the foot optimally without any seams. also excellent is the SLW2 which allows a very precise adjustment of the shoe, just press the button and the lanyard is released by a single step, important when you are pedaling and you realize that you have tightened the shoe too much. lifting the same button releases the lanyard and you can take off the shoe. Foot ventilation guaranteed by 5 mesh inserts positioned on the sole. I know NW well but these shoes really surprised me.
Good price, approximately £40.Very pleased with the fit and style, look good.I’m a size 8 and bought the 41 which I think is a 7.5.Fits perfectly.
I have fat feet, and finding bike shoes that fit is challenging. I was pleasantly surprised when I put these shoes on because nothing in the description indicates they are wide shoes.Because of that luxurious fit, I ordered a pair of MTB shoes. Unfortunately, they are too narrow for my feet, so I have to return them to Competitive Cyclist. For an inexpensive pair of cycling shoes, the Northwave Core Plus 2 cycling shoes are of great value. If anyone at Competitive Cyclist reads this, does the "Plus" in the name indicate they have a wider toe box? I have looked for Northwave shoes listed as "Wide" before and I took a chance on this pair, but I'm glad I did. Thank you.
