I bought it hoping to use it to replace the flour in my sponge cakes. And what a success! Friends who have tasted those cakes agreed that the glucomannan-versions are almost the same as the flour ones.I also use erythritol in place of sugar so the whole cake is basically carb-free. The picture here shows two kinds of sponge cakes: cocoa and coffee. They are light and soft and since glucomannan is tasteless, it allows the cocoa and coffee flavours to come out strong and clean.Highly recommend this pure powder to any baking enthusiasts who want to experiment with low-carb baking.

I have used many NOW products and I have always been very pleased.However, I feel that it's important to share my experience with this particular product Glucomannan.I was taking this product for several weeks. Last week I took it as directed, but about 15 minutes later a reflux reaction brought the pill back up into my esophagus. I tried drinking more water to wash it down but instead the contents began swelling and blocking my esophagus. I wound up in the emergency room where they performed an endoscopy, and the doctor had to literally cut up the blockage and wash it down into my stomach.What can I say....I'm grateful to be alive! Love this product. I used a different brand before from Iherb which was equally good.Now is a popular brand. This particular one is easy to swallow. It. Helps to control my appetite. It came fairly quickly and very well packed. I usually take 2 capsules before lunch and 2 before supper. I have not lost any weight yet. Only time will tell.

I just started using this a month ago, and this is my 2nd bottle. It allows me to thicken soups to the consistency I want without adding an unpleasant flavor or texture... very neutral and the quality is excellent, very fine grind and no problem mixing it in.. just be careful to mix it thoroughly in cooler liquid before adding it to hot. Be cautious however and only add tiny amounts at a time, as it doesn't take much! I am experimenting with baking with it as well.

The product is fair quality. It might be a little better grade than some. It is less expensive. The company is the review here. They take a great deal of time before, during, and after the sale with non-intrusive customer service. They definitely care about your satisfaction and being sure they meet expectations. I have received several informative e-texts from them on nutrition and various other health concerns; I would continue to buy from them for my diet.
