gastrointestinal issues that have been very disruptive to my life. I had my gall bladder removed four years ago. I did not experience any digestive symptoms immediately or even shortly after that. So, I did not think the problems two years later were related. I tried digestive enzymes without bile, and found no relief. However, my research brought me back to the lack of a gall bladder. Getting the digestive enzymes with the ox bile was instantly successful in handling my issue. I am managing well on one per day, which I take with my first meal. I started with two per day (one with each meal,) but I could see it was too much. Unlike some reviewers, I’ve had no problem with the capsules looking or smelling bad. I’m guessing there might have been a bad batch at some point. For anyone without a gall bladder and suffering digestive issues, even if you were fine for a while following the gall bladder removal, don’t discount that as a possible reason for symptoms.

I have a lot of food intolerances - all the cruciferous vegetables, green leafy vegetables, lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance, sugar, onions, lentils, lots of fruits many more and also I am insulin resistant. If I eat any vegetable which I am intolerant to - My body bloats like a pregnant woman, exploding diarrhea, floating poops and other stomach issues. I have been suffering with these issues since childhood, but became worse once I turned 30 or probably realized at that time (now I am 37). I have tried number of diets. I have had a lot of allergy tests and seen many dieticians, doctors. I watched YouTube videos, used ACV, used probiotics, but of no use. Finally I went to Naturopath and she told me all my symptoms look like I have issue with my gallbladder - ... So she asked me to take NOW Foods Super Enzymes and Voila. Since I started taking it (it has been a month)- lots has changed. I feel I am less bloated, my poop is better, no exploding diarrhea; and also I started few vegetables which I am intolerant to but in small quantity and can see less symptoms compared to first. How much I take ? Due to all the intolerances and insulin resistant - I started doing low Carbohydrate diet - which is KETO diet with OMAD - so due to which I only take one pill a day before I take my meal (but if you eat two meals - you can take one pill with each meal )and once I am done with my meal I take two tablespoons ACV, and yes great results ! Hope my experience is helpful to you and if you think you have same symptoms, I guess answer is to take NOW Foods Super Enzymes .

These are a fantastic formulation of enzymes mixed together with betaineHcl and if you don’t have a problem with sulfites then it’s just an amazing product overall. Personally I’ve had greater success with the tablet version but that’s just my preference. The issue with this formulation is that it contains a decent amount of sulfites, which before when I was extra sensitive to sulfites caused a real problem for me and it took me a long time to figure out. I’ve lessened my sensitivity to sulfites thru the use of active B6 and molybdenum so now taking these enzymes causes not much issue. So for really heavy meals I mix one of these with a couple of Drs Best betaineHcl for a potent digestive cocktail, like Thanksgiving or Christmas meals with lots of fat, gravy, ... It’s important to take anything with betaineHcl before or during a meal, never after. Then at the end of the meal, before I lie down I will take an enzyme formula (with no Hcl) and that is usually a good combo to avoid any acid reflux after overeating.Ofc the obvious thing to do is not overeat, and don’t eat late at night before going to bed but sometimes it can’t be avoided.

Enzymes are biological molecules that act as catalysts in various chemical reactions within the body. They play a crucial role in facilitating and speeding up biochemical processes, allowing them to occur at a faster rate. Here's a short summary of enzymes and their functions:1. Examples of digestive enzymes include amylase, protease, and lipase, which break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, respectively. They are produced by the salivary glands, stomach, pancreas, and small intestine.2. Metabolic Enzymes: Metabolic enzymes are involved in the chemical reactions that occur within cells to maintain various metabolic processes. These enzymes regulate energy production, nutrient metabolism, and the synthesis and breakdown of molecules. Metabolic enzymes are essential for the proper functioning of the body's metabolism.3. Detoxification Enzymes: Detoxification enzymes play a vital role in the body's ability to neutralize and eliminate toxins. They convert harmful substances into less toxic or more easily excretable forms. Examples include the cytochrome P450 enzymes in the liver, which metabolize drugs and toxins, and the glutathione enzymes involved in antioxidant defense.4. Immune Enzymes: Enzymes are also involved in immune system function. Some enzymes, such as lysozyme, help break down the cell walls of certain bacteria, contributing to the body's defense against infections. Other enzymes, like superoxide dismutase, act as antioxidants, protecting cells from oxidative damage and supporting immune health.5. Enzyme Supplements: Enzyme supplements are commonly used to support digestion, especially for individuals with conditions that affect enzyme production or digestion, such as pancreatic insufficiency or lactose intolerance. These supplements typically contain specific enzymes to aid in the digestion of certain nutrients, such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. It's important to note that while enzymes play essential roles in various bodily functions, they are typically produced naturally within the body. Enzyme supplements can be helpful in specific cases where enzyme production or function is impaired, but their use should be guided by a healthcare professional based on individual needs and conditions.
These are my favorite enzymes and I find them at a good price on this site. I take them regularly because without them I might not digest my food properly. Since I take them with each meal and even with snacks, I now buy the bigger bottle that comes with 180 pills. I'd buy a bigger one if they made it. I used to worry that I would overdo it by taking them all the time, but in my situation I find this work best. I still have to be careful about what I eat and I have to avoid very fatty meals but this has helped me a lot. I used to have constant indigestion now I only get indigestion if I'm not careful with what I eat for example if I eat too much fiber, or too much fat or if I eat something that is not very fresh.
In 2012, I lost my gall bladder as it stopped functioning. I was never informed by the surgeon who removed it that I would need an enzyme to replace the bile that was not being created to disintegrate the fats being consumed. For years I was in pain until an Integrative Doctor let me know I needed an enzyme to do the work of my gall bladder. Enter Super Enzymes. I've been on this now for 3 months and can say it's definitely made an improvement in my overall gut health. But for those wondering if it takes a day or two for it to work, in my experience, I didn't notice changes until at least 2 months into using it. So, give it time and have patience to see it working to the effect you are taking it for.
