75% protein trash. If all you are getting is 75% protein out of a protein isolate? you are drinking garbage!!I am a devoted NOW brand user (over 10 years and currently) and advocate. I am in fact biased to the Brand, and very brand loyal.Yet after my chosen protein powder was abolished from this site (ISO Sensation 93, here says it is discontinued, yet it seems to be available on UN site?)I began a hunt for a replacement, minimum requirement was 90%, but i tried the unflavored NOW on the selling point of many flavor combinations.I had 1 shake, with a horchata (vanilla and cinnamon) spin on it. Mixing was meh (I use a shaker bottle), sorry no good portable power options (really long extension cord?) for blenders on the road. Flavor was pretty good actually, no ... More75% protein trash. It was the bloated, cramping, crop-dusting (gas) mess that ensued that was horrific. Never had i experienced such results from a protein shake. Maybe it did not mix with something else I ate? I gave it 4 tries, 1 more than baseball rule. Threw out the remainder of the bag and will NEVER EVER drink this again. It is filled with too much TRASH to be considered a viable isolate in my book. Look elsewhere for a quality protein.Allstarheath (also biased to this amazing company) has plenty of options. Their Brand (BodyStrong) is better (if it is ever in stock) than NOW. It mixes just fine in a bottle, no 3-mile extension cord necessary. I DO NOT review on taste, it is too subjective, we are all different, and like different things.I see the review where a person mentioned fluid buildup in the eye from BodyStrong brand. That can be from a protein imbalance in your body, artificial sweeteners, too much sugar (what else was he eating?) LIKE ANY SUPPLEMENT, SEE YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING ANYTHING!

I've been using NOW since around 2000 and their protein has never let me down. It is one of only two brands that I will use in 2023. It does not give me any bloat or stomach upset like ON and it has a great taste. I shoot for 3 drinks/day and its doesn't give me constipation or bloat. My dirty keto mix is:2 scoops of NOW whey1 banana1/2 tps of coconut oil1 tbs of peanut butter1 tsp of heavy creamApproximately 12oz water. I'll add more water if I want to thin it out.Low carb version:2 scoops of NOW whey1 banana10-12oz of water.I really like the taste and I've used old school ON, Twin Labs, Champion, Universal, Weider(junk) in the late 80s and accidentally discovered NOW at a health food store. Lab assayed for purity and content, it is my current primary go-to. 60lbs on the last orderFancy labels, endorsements etc don't mean a d@mn thing to me, I want a product that performs and NOW does great. I like a good deal so I buy my whey through 3 criteria, No heavy metals, No artificial sweeteners, good grams of protein per dollar amount. I'll be honest, this tastes like how you'd expect an industrially extracted product would taste, really bad. But it is pure protein, no nasty stuff. So if you're broke or just want a really clean product with no junk in it, this one is the way to go. Also I'm a cook so I usually just take a food scale and add in whatever junk I wanna put in. (The best recipe I found was 56g of protein powder, 50 cals of a nut butter, 60ml of milk, pinch of salt, a glug of immitate vanilla, and 5g of coco powder, it goes right down the hatch)If you wanna be extra feral during cutting season, just blend it up with some water (AND DRINK FAST, DO ... MoreI like a good deal so I buy my whey through 3 criteria, No heavy metals, No artificial sweeteners, good grams of protein per dollar amount. Have bought other brands of WPI before, including ON, Allmax, and iHerb brands. NOW whey protein isolate (for me) has the best solubility / mixability! Hardly any clumps during mixing!I usually add a bit of water to make a thick viscous mix first, so that it’s easier to break up the clumps (rather than chase the clumps in a filled cup). NOW has no such issues, regardless of the amount of liquid added to the powder, there is hardly any clumps with ample water, and only small clumps that are easily taken care of when using smaller amounts of water. Not sure why this is so - is it because of the WPI:Lecithin ratio?Packaging wise, it comes in a large, transparent bottle, allowing me to see clearly how much is left to the bottom, so I can anticipate when to get my ... MoreHave bought other brands of WPI before, including ON, Allmax, and iHerb brands. It has a large scoop (Slightly tapered), which I like as it makes avoids any spill when I scoop it into a narrow cup. If the WPI comes in a foil packet, I would prefer that as it is easier to reduce empty space by folding down the opening.

I haven't started this yet, but I'm looking forward to supplementing this whenever my daily protein consumption falls short. E.g. I may add to a morning shake. I've recently started transitioning to a diet more plant-based & sometimes find myself struggling to get high quality protein. Especially as I'm > 65, I try to ensure daily adequate protein intake to minimize muscle wasting, which isn't emphasized enough for the elderly. I think the fear of animal-based protein (TMAO, etc) may cause folks to swing to the other side of the pendulum; we must guard against muscle wasting. So so critical to maintain--& build--muscle strength as we grow into our golden years. Besides getting optimal amt in diet--on a daily basis--I've started recording my intake--important w/each ... MoreI haven't started this yet, but I'm looking forward to supplementing this whenever my daily protein consumption falls short. After realizing choosing my whey was super critical regarding keeping my health, I've done an extensive research, understanding which ingredients are good or harmful, and I found out this brand has the cleanest list of ingredients (even down to using sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin). Has the most stamps of quality assurances, and even the price is affordable. I was worried about the taste after reading some really disliked it, and I found nothing wrong with it. It's a tad sweet, yet, there's no strong after-taste. It mixes reasonably well with water. You can get pockets of powder that didn't melt, so you need to mix it a bit longer, yet that's not a deal breaker. The packets are quite convenient. What's important is you're getting your protein dose while ... MoreAfter realizing choosing my whey was super critical regarding keeping my health, I've done an extensive research, understanding which ingredients are good or harmful, and I found out this brand has the cleanest list of ingredients (even down to using sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin). I'm an avid regular user of the "Unflavored" variety of this product, which I cannot say enough good things about. It's an ultra high quality, clean, and impactful isolate. The "Dutch Chocolate" variety is the same, with the added flavor and slightly different nutrition profile but nothing to affect its overall quality. The amino acid profile varies slightly, but again this shouldn't have any impact on its effectiveness. It dissolves quickly without being clumpy or chalky, and the taste is very good. As others users have mentioned it's definitely more on the dark/bittersweet chocolate spectrum which I found to really enjoy. Try it in baked goods to give them an additional protein punch, and elevated chocolate profile.....no one will notice or even know unless you ... MoreI'm an avid regular user of the "Unflavored" variety of this product, which I cannot say enough good things about. I've paid double for more "premium" brands that have fallen short in many if not all categories when compared to NOW Foods Whey Protein Isolate.
A friend of mine who is 70 years old fell and dislocated his scapula on his left shoulder. He went through 3 surgeries but the doctor still couldn't fix it completely as his muscle was too weak to support fixation due to old age. At first, I thought of getting him some collagen as we know this is excellent for bone and muscle repair. However, as I did my research and I found that whey protein which contains a higher amount of leucine is better than collagen protein to stimulate protein synthesis particularly in older adults. NOW FOODS Whey Protein Isolate is a good choice since it's unflavored and has no other additives besides sunflower lecithin. The price is also affordable for me. So, I gave this whey protein product together with seafood collagen and vitamin D3 & K2 to my 70-year old friend. Right after about 1 week of consuming all these supplements, he felt a significant improvement on his left shoulder. And for the first time in 7 months the surgeon said his muscle finally has some improvement. I'm so happy for him and I strongly believe that whey protein has mostly contributed to his speedy recovery because it's backed up by scientific research. Besides, he said he has less back pain after consuming these supplements. I highly recommend this product to older adults who want to enhance their muscle rebuilding!
