This 14.15 oz. dry denim greatness bears the resemblance of an old, '50s style, denim. True to history it is constructed of ring-spun warp and weft yarns with irregular thickness, as was often the case back in the day on workwear fabrics. Also true to its heritage is the dark, but not blackish, indigo warp that is dyed in pure indigo. With wear and wash, the yarns will interact, and you'll reap the rewards that heavier ring-spun denim produces — evident slubs, a pleasing crosshatch as well as a marbling -effect. It's the irregular yarns in both warp and weft that render the crosshatch effect, and the built-in tension formed by the yarns that produce the marble effect after washing. As this denim is dyed in pure indigo, it will age to a clean, blue redcast tone. The greatest part of these jeans is not what they look like new, but rather the complete opposite - how they will look tomorrow, and the many days to come. Enjoy ageing, it is worth the trouble.

I’ve been searching for a straight regular cut that isn’t too baggy on a slightly slimmer build and found the Gritty Jackson is perfect. The weight of the fabric is just right, not too light but not too heavy, and soft right out of the box. The wash is stunning, subtle tones of greys and blacks that develop and enhance with wear. These jeans are just amazing and when you factor in the free repairs for life, they are an absolute steal.

I’ve owned a few pairs of the selvedge and like them, but I also like these less expensive jeans made with what I presume is denim made in a more modern, automated fashion.I’ve only had them for a month or two and my goal this time is to get them as broken in as I can before I invariably burn holes in the crotch. My strategy is to stop wearing my new Nudie jeans for long walks… At least until I’ve washed them for the first time, and I can have them repaired. The cut is perfect. I think it’s similar to the old big benght or sharp benght in that the hips are roomy and the cuffs not to wide. Matches my shape. Those styles got too extreme for me with more aggressively tapered legs. I live in the country and wear boots every once in a while, and these will ... MoreI’ve owned a few pairs of the selvedge and like them, but I also like these less expensive jeans made with what I presume is denim made in a more modern, automated fashion.I’ve only had them for a month or two and my goal this time is to get them as broken in as I can before I invariably burn holes in the crotch. Which is perfect. So far they’re perfect and a fun break in project while my selvedge gritty Jackson’s get repaired. They’re starting to show some character and get a nice sheen with different hues of blue. Fingers crossed I make it to a year of almost daily wear before I wash them.

Great sturdy denim, great cut (finally a regular pair of jeans again after Nudie pulled back the even better Sleepy Sixten). Good price, too, I think.Minus one star though for the sloppy seam at the hems. Loose stitching that could simply be pulled out. Not fastened. Fixed it myself - no way will I drag myself into town, hand them in for repair and wait weeks to get them back when they're brand new.Better quality control, please!

Oh, this is a new style that I have never try before due to all we cannot travel. All I bought Nudie Jeans is from Japan when travelling and I can try the actual fitting. This one, I just based on the "virtusize ". Fortunately this is okay. The fitting is a little bit different from the styles I got (Tilted Tor, Grim Tim, Lean Dean, Thin Finn). It's more straight from knee till bottom. I will try to wear more often in September as it's still very hot in Hong Kong. If it is good, I intend to buy a selvage, but in 32L.
Went into Nudie Jeans Melbourne looking to purchase a more expensive pair of jeans, one of the Japanese salvege type. The sales person was super helpful and helped me choose these which were a much better fit and were more comfortable. It's my first proper pair of dry jeans. I've owned them for just over a year and have had one wash and one repair, wearing pretty much every day. The quality overall is quite good. Typically I'd go through 2 or 3 pairs of stretch denim in a year which would pretty much disintegrate beyond reasonable repair. This has so far been a good return on investment so far. I see my self wearing these jeans for several more years. The dye stains pretty much anything when I first purchased it and tarninshed a perfectly good pair of sneakers but ... MoreWent into Nudie Jeans Melbourne looking to purchase a more expensive pair of jeans, one of the Japanese salvege type. Even after the first was (at about 9 months) it still manages to stain some stuff I keep in my pockets.
Extremely difficult to find a true pair of straight jeans nowadays. Ended up with this model and mine have a noticeable taper (loose thighs but narrow leg opening), not something I’d expect reading the description. Length is too short for the size, 32 has fit me on Nudie and other brands but not this pair. Two washes in and the jeans are pilling, which I’ve never experienced with any other pair. Regret this purchase.
I'm normally a 30W x 28L, but I ordered these one size up in 31W x 28L. After trying them on in person I noticed the crotch region fits a little snug, especially if you intend to raising the waist, you'll definitely benefit from the additional space moving up a size - even if they stretch over time (it's noticeable when sitting).Overall, the quality is great. The jeans themselves have a very elegant wash, and are comfortably stiff for a 16oz pair of Japanese denim. The stitching also provides great contrast, and it's obvious that there's been effort put towards the creation of the pant.I find them great for daily wear, but I do not recommend wearing any white/light coloured tops that will make contact with the outside of the pant. The dye ended up leaking onto onto the hem of a sweater, but that's a universal occurrence with all quality pants.
I purchased a pair of Tuff Tony jeans at a local retail shop. I really liked them. But I wanted a pair of straight jeans not as wide as Tony. These were perfect. Have two awesome pairs now. Since I purchased the Tuff Tony pair in the store, I decided to make this purchase online. I went with the same size and length. Shipping was extremely fast. They shipped from Sweden to Chicago and I received them in a few days. They were a bit tight when I tried them on for the first time. I emailed customer support and they responded quickly. They assured me the jeans would stretch a bit and this wasn't a lie. After a day of wearing them they fit perfect. Really comfortable.
I loved the material and construction of the pants. They were way to big in the thigh area. I could not find sizing on the web site that would help me insure that I bought the right size. I just bought another pair, Steady Eddie II and am hoping they fit. I am frustrated that there is nothing on the site to help me find the right size. Some other jean manufacturer sites provide specific measurements so I could get the right size on the first attempt at purchase.
I have purchased 24 pairs of Nudie jeans over the last few years. The jeans have all been exactly the same size. Now it appears that the sizes can no longer be trusted. I have just returned a pair of Gritty Jackson jeans that were far too small on the waist and thighs. My weight hasn’t changed but I believe the quality and make of the jeans have. My previous two pairs were Gritty Jackson, they were a perfect fit. It’s careless quality control, not what I would expect from this company.
