Absolutely loved this foundation for grad. I didn't do good skin prep because I didn't know how to properly. applied this with no primer and it held up so well. if you have acne I would recommend spot concealing underneath as I found it wasn't full coverage or buildable to be able to cover my redness and acne. for someone with very dry and dehydrated skin it lasted throughout the whole day in the heat. not my go-to foundation as its too much for me on an everyday but would definitely recommend!

I did like it . It leaves your face with a dewy finish which i like . It does make your skin look healthier. It makes you look fresh and natural. Light coverage. It is a good product. I did love that it doesn’t make you look older, it doest accentuate wrinkles. If you are looking for the natural look, this would be a great option. I would really recommend for matured skin.

I have repurchased this foundation twice now, which says something. I was initially afraid to try it, since I thought I wouldn't want something so matte and full-coverage. However, if you have a full skin-care regimen and apply moisturizer regularly (and who doesn't, these days?) then I doubt this would be too cakey or drying. I apply it with a dampened makeup sponge and find that this helps with creating a natural, not-so-matte-but-still-long-lasting base (and a little bit goes a long way). On my sensitive, normal skin, powder isn't necessary, since this sets after a few minutes. The perfecting, long-wearing quality of this just can't be beat. I also hardly wear concealer under my eyes now, because I find so many of them crease and make fine lines even more obvious (I'm now in my early 30s). This is liquidy but still gives a lot of coverage, so it works better under my eyes than most concealers do. I also wear sunscreen everyday (usually the Make P:rem cream or the Elta MD UV physical sunscreen spf 41) and have found this foundation plays well with those products (although I do notice that by the end of the day my skin looks less glowy than I would like--but I find that most sunscreens tend to make me matte rather than shiny over the course of the day, so I think it's just something I have to live with). I also have sensitive skin that tends to breakout easily and have not had any trouble with this. Unless you have very dry skin, I would suggest you give this a try. And for those with oily skin, I would imagine this would be the best foundation ever.

I saw a number of people say it's a dupe for it but it isn't whatsoever. The NYX one feels and looks like a drugstore foundation (no offence). It applies like watered down paint and showed every crack and pore in my skin. This is definitely very sheer coverage. Lightweight? Yes, but not medium to full coverage like the one from Dermablend. The one from Dermablend is also lightweight but not super liquidy like the one from NYX, and it's medium to full coverage. I'm all about saving money but in terms of this, you get what you pay for. Ulta had a sale on the drops for $21 and while NYX on Amazon was only $7, it was .43 ounces vs. Dermblend which was 1 ounce. One reviewer said something I agree with. Let me begin with saying that I don’t typically wear foundation, but when I do, THIS is what I wear. I have a lot of freckles, and I absolutely adore them so I don’t want to cover them. But now I’m getting older and I’ve noticed some discoloration in some areas and I’m needing something to help even things out a little. I’ve tried other light/medium foundations but they always feel heavy still with have too much coverage, and they make my freckles shining though look a weird grey color, even when using only a tiny amount. I’ve even tried mixing them with a bit of moisturizer or using tinted moisturizer instead with zero luck. I DON’T HAVE THOSE PROBLEMS WITH THE CONTROL DROPS! This foundation is very lightweight and truly looks like my skin but if it were nice and even. It’s very liquidy but dries down a natural Demi-matte finish that is powder-soft likes matte foundation but offers radiance without shimmer. It looks almost airbrushed but still like skin. I have drier skin and it lasts 12+ hours for me. I am between two shades, but these are such a lot price point that I’m ok with buying both and customizing my perfect shade. The dropper makes it super easy! And while all of these things are great, for me the best part is that my freckles still show through WITHOUT any grey cast šŸ™ŒšŸ¼ FINALLY!!!

Okay, so I know this has been around for a while and I've been tempted to buy it for quite some time due to the amount of raving reviews but I usually stay away from any foundation when I hear the word matte... I've always been more of a Dewy girl. When I saw it on sale for $7,99 I decided to finally go for it. First, buying online I took the chance and ordered Porcelain because this is the shade that I get in most foundations I buy and it was a perfect match. I was very intrigued with the dropper /buildable concept. I definitely NEVER go full coverage so I figured despite the bottle being very small it should last a while since I only go light to medium coverage. The one Con is that it took quite a few more drops just to achieve light coverage than the product states. For application I took a different route than normal. Usually I apply strictly with beauty blender but with this, I dropped the foundation directly to my face and used one of the Oval brushes to blend it out. These brushes are nice and dense, soft, don't absorb product and produce an air brush looking finish which made it perfect for such a watery formula. Thankfully, after you start blending the foundation thickens up a bit. I finished by just using my beauty blender to make sure the product was not just sitting on top of my face and to soak up any potentially extra product. You want to wait until foundation is completely dry before using setting powder (and don't apply until your primer is completely dry as well). So, my final thoughts is that I was kind of blown away. The coverage was light but made my complexion look flawless and natural. Though it states it's a matte finish... It's not the chalky looking full blown matte look of other foundations. I'd call it more like a natural finish. And after applying the rest of my makeup, particularly my highlighter I was even more in love with this product. This Pic was taken about 3 hrs after initial application with no touchups and it looks the same as it did right after applying. I honestly didn't think I would fall helplessly in love with this like I did but I don't imagine I'll be buying any other foundation in the foreseeable future!

I LOVE this foundation. I am someone who doesn’t need a whole lot of coverage because my skin is considerably clear, how Ever I love how even this foundation makes my face look! And I can go really light or really heavy on it if I need to! It is a very versatile foundation for when you wanna do intense glam or a more ā€œnaturalā€ look to your face and compaction. I have tried a good handful of drug store foundation and in my opinion this is one of the best out there!!!

I love this foundation. I feel like it’s one of those foundations that works for some and doesn’t work at all for others, but it seriously makes my skin look BEAUTIFUL! It has a very natural looking, skin like finish but still has very nice coverage. I’d actually say it’s on the medium coverage level, but you can definitely build it up to full coverage with this. I feel like it blends best with a brush, it blends nice with a sponge too but it just looks better to me when done with a brush, plus you don’t get a lot of product and a sponge will soak up a lot of it, so using a brush will also make it last a little longer. I feel like it blends best with a brush, it blends nice with a sponge too but it just looks better to me when done with a brush, plus you don’t get a lot of product and a sponge will soak up a lot of it, so using a brush will also make it last a little longer. I use a ā€˜stippling’/duofiber brush and it makes my skin sooo flawless with this foundation. It claims to be full coverage in just three drops but that wasn’t the case at least not for me. I usually just drop about 7 to 10 drops on a palette and that seems to cover my whole face. You may need even more if you want to blend it down your neck. So even though 3 drops is definitely not enough, you don’t need to use as much as this compared to most foundations. It was also interesting that when you first apply it and blend with a brush, it looks a litttle bit streaky (nothing crazy just a little) but then after like 20 seconds or so of it sitting on the face it like smoothes itself out and just melts into the skin and looks so beautiful. It has an interesting consistency as well, it’s very thin and watery but has like a velvety smooth feel to it. It really makes your skin look airbrushed and flawless. I don’t have acne so I’m not sure how well this would work to cover that but It definitely is buildable enough to cover the breakouts I get here and there. I also think they have a great shade range. They have a super dark shade and a super light shade which not many companies pull either of those off well, and a nice blend of the shades in between. It also feels so light on the skin you can’t even tell you have any foundation on! It’s not drying but it’s not oily or anything at all either. I have normal to dry skin and i think this would be good for all skin types. It lasts all day too it looked beautiful even after the 12 hour mark. And I love the frosted glass packaging. The one downside to this is that where I live it’s 14 dollars for such a little amount of product. It’s not crazy expensive, but it’s not a good deal at all because it’s around the price of most drugstore foundations, but you’re getting less than half the standard amount. Most foundations come with 1oz of product where as this comes with only .43oz of product. Which also means that to buy 2 bottles would be 30 dollars and you still wouldn’t even have a whole ounce of product only .86oz which is ridiculous for a drugstore foundation. But it’s definitely one of my favorites I like it more than some high end foundations I’ve tried so I guess it’s worth it.

Best as a mixer, not a standalone foundation

Yes, Nyx sell a specific version of this that specifically function as shade adjusters to lighten, deepen, and tone adjust. I prefer using these in a shade just lighter than my skin tone and just deeper than my skin tone because it creates a more natural shade match than the black or the white do from their other range. I don't think these are too great on their own as dedicated foundations, though. They can be very dry if overapplied, but it's also difficult to apply a thin layer because it's so watery it dries down before I'm able to blend it in over the skin. Mixed into other products like other foundations or moisturizers really does the trick, though!

Missing the Old Formula
5 February 2022

I bought this foundation on a whim when it first came out and LOOOOVED IT! It had suuuuch a nice, soft matte finish and gave me the adjustable coverage I desired without settling into my pores, dry patches and fine lines. The shades I needed for summer/winter were also a PERFECT match for my undertond and lasted almost all day! However...this new formula is not good. Like, at all. It's greasy, cakey, flakes and accentuates my dry patches even with my hydrating primer, and absolutely does not stay on throughout the day no matter how much or how little you build it. And I've had to exchange my shades like, 4 times because they just didn't match quite right. NYX, please bring the old formula back!!! I cannot recommend this foundation in good faith anymore.
