After seeing all the hype over the internet, I decided to purchase this mop system. My regular old O cedar mop broke, so I decided to try this one out. At first thought, the idea of a spin mop and bucket that separates the clean water from dirty water is a great idea, and I like the foot pedal for spinning out extra water. I really should have read those lower rated reviews before purchasing because I was disappointed as soon as I opened the box. First off, the mop head is super small and flimsy. When I took the mop head from the packaging and felt it, it felt paper thin, and there was no way that it could clean my floors properly. The handle also does feel sturdy, and it would not stay up when I adjusted it. LOVE this bucket! I love that I'm not dipping the mop into dirty water to clean the floors- it's pretty clever how it works. I thought I wasn't doing it right because there was very little water in the 'clean' water side- but then I realized how it works. You dip the dirty mop into the clean side after mopping, and the mop soaks up that clean water- then you wring it, and I do this twice. There isn't a ton of water in the clean area because it's supposed to all be absorbed into the mop so you can 'rinse' with it. Once it's rinsed out via the 'spin' part, then you dip again into the clean (which re-fills automatically via a little hole in the bottom) and the mop absorbs the clean water, ready for your next pass at mopping on the floor. Good! BUT not enough value for the price.

I own a residential cleaning business so I know thing or two about cleaning. I love the OCedar mops and this one does do a good job. BUT if you’re really concerned about having and mopping with clean water consistently, I would say that the price point for this mop bucket is not worth the value that it provides. I’m a firm believer in mopping until the water shows clear whenever you go to dump it out. With the amount of time it seems like this two tank mop bucket system adds to your mopping routine, you might as well just use the regular ocedar mop bucket because it does a fantastic job and gets the same results. If you are person who never switches your mop water or hates switching mop water, then this product makes sense for you. But if you mop effectively, you will mop until the water is clear and you will get the same result and save $15 and a lot of time.I like the idea of the system. It’s genius, but I think the reality of the application is that it’s not really as effective as it’s made to seem. One small thing I didn’t like about it is that you have to buy a different size mop head, and whenever you go to spin the mop head out , the tank system seems like it’s off-balance with the weight distribution so it shakes really bad which I’m not a fan of. Not a big deal on that part but it is just a small thing that made me not really like the product.Another thing I didn’t like was that you can’t entirely get the blue tank dry even after leaving it sitting upside down for over 24 hours. It doesn’t seem to come completely dry. I can see this being a concern because you’re letting moisture sit in the tank and most people don’t mop every single day so you are increasing the risk of mold, mildew, and/or bacteria buildup overtime, which is counter effective when you want to clean your floors with only clean water.

This Rinse Clean mop is AWESOME!!! I love that fact that I’m not sticking the mop into dirty water, and instead having clean water for every new dip! The spinner helps to get enough water out of the mop so that it doesn’t soak the floor. The reservoir is easy to fill, and the bucket is easy to handle. The mop is so easy to use, covers large areas, and gets into tight corners and spaces. The handle is long enough, so that I’m not bending (I’m 5’ though), and there’s even a notch on the handle, to hold the mop when not using. Emptying the dirty water is super easy to pour, and there’s a handle at the bottom of the bucket to hold when tipping the bucket to empty the dirty water. I told my husband that I actually enjoy mopping when using this! 🤣 I did think this was a more expensive mop set, but it’s well worth the money! (***When pulling out the handle to assemble the mop, there are two places where it extends. You have to pull it to extend it, then twist it to tighten it in place. There are two sections to extend. The one that I couldn’t figure out at first, was the spot on the handle at the mop head end. Hope this helps.

O'Cedar understood the assignment on this product. It makes every part of mopping easier. The microfiber mop head is really absorbant and does a fantastic job of loosening stubborn dirt, and picking up the mess so you can then move it to the rinsing chamber of the system. This part is absolutely genius. The mop head goes in the chamber, and without having to bend, stoop, or use your hands at all, you press the pedal, with your foot, and the system wrings out the mop head completely. Then you're ready to move on. Once the job is completed, just dump the dirty water. The mop head is removable, so you can hand or machine wash it after every use. I could not believe how much time and effort this mop system me! Worth every penny.

Poor design
26 April 2024

This is a very bad design. When our traditional O'Cedar mop bucket that my wife loves was used to clean some construction in the house we decided to try the new improved bucket design. We waited until after the home modifications were complete to try the new bucket and mop. The design was confusing but once the operation was understood it became clear that this was a poor design. In theory, the clean tank was a nice option so the mop could dispense clean water rather than increasingly dirtier water. The clean water section and tank is way too small and requires constant filling. The mop head is also smaller to accommodate the smaller rinse section. I do not recommend this new design and we will continue to use the old as we have since bought a new traditional O'Cedar mop system.

Super disappointed

Though I was very excited to try this mop system, I was super disappointed. I use the O-Cedar original model all the time for work and really like it, and loved the idea of the clean water so I tried this. I’m shocked at all the good reviews. Here’s some of what I didn’t like (and there was nothing I did like) The bucket to spin AND the bucket to rinse is WAY too small. There’s not enough “clean” water to properly rinse the mop head and the small bucket doesn’t fill full enough, the clean water doesn’t hold enough to keep filling what little water is in the clean bucket. When you go to rinse the mop head and add more water to it, the dirty water from rinsing the mop head still mixes with the clean water when you pull the tab up. I even tried using it without the “clean water” insert and the spraying water was even worse. I barely got through mopping. If you haven’t used this I can see all this not making much sense, but I thought this model was the biggest pain in the butt. I returned it and got the original for my house. So much better. If the water gets too dirty I change it. Still FAR easier than this model and it cleans well also.

Would not buy

I recently purchased the Rinse Clean version of the spin mop and bucket from Target to replace my previous basic version that broke after several years of use. I am very unhappy with the fact that I paid more for what appeared to be a better version of the original only to find it to be lacking in all areas. The reserve water bin runs out almost immediately and has to be refilled frequently which is not something I have time for. Also, I noticed that the mop head is smaller than my previous basic model O-cedar and I miss the option of a spinning top on the mop handle that can be held while it spins in my hand. I have used the new mop several times so I do not think I can return it but I wish desperately that I had just purchased the basic easy ring mop instead. ... MoreI recently purchased the Rinse Clean version of the spin mop and bucket from Target to replace my previous basic version that broke after several years of use. Also, rinse clean is not actually what happens when using this mop. If I am cleaning up say, dog pee, and the mop is placed in the blue bin to collect more water. It is not actually rinsing clean at any point. It is just absorbing more water each time withou getting thoroughly rinsed since there is a very small amount of water that gets replenished each time. I prefer the full bucket method that at least dilutes the mess being cleaned up. Sure, I usually have to get new water after the initial mopping but that seems more logical to me than just adding clean water to a dirty mop.
