The hardest thing was finding the install link on the microsoft site which felt deliberately obscured in favor of the 365 perpetual license which was what I wanted to avoid. Eventually found and successfully installed and activated without any problems

Paying 249.99 for this off-the-shelf software without a REAL Microsoft license. To activate this software, I STILL HAVE TO CREATE AND KEEP A MICROSOFT OUTLOOK ACCOUNT. In my opinion, I should have been able to activate and USE this software without having to create and keep a Microsoft outlook account. That was my whole purpose. Otherwise, I could have paid the $9.99 monthly subscription fee to Microsoft using my Microsoft account. I want my money back.

Pretty easy but… MS is pushing 365 which makes this install confusing. If you have a new system with 365 installed on the drive, you’ll need to uninstall 365 prior to installing office home & business. Once you start to install of office home &business, the link says install 365 office home & business. What it means is install office home & business. So, just install from the link provided. I’m going from win 7 and office 2010, to win 11 office 2021. Lots of differences but you have to make the leap sometime!

This was biggest negative issue with this product. I paid to have it loaded by the Geek Squad but they had no idea what to due with Outlook. I probably spent 8 hours with them trying to set up outlook. this was because there is nobody trained on how to set it up. I even went to a different store and was told by the Geek Squad person that nobody is trained on Microsoft Outlook. I have always liked the product and have been using it for over 20 years.
So happy to have this back on my computer. Went a year without Microsoft Office when my computer got a new hard drive and it was tough. Google docs is good yet Microsoft Office is easier for me to navigate and is a better experience over all. It was relatively affordable too.
I wish it was more like earlier Office products where I had more control of how things are handled and stored. I have been primarily frustrated with Outlook. I am still unable to get it installed without getting things on the cloud. I want everything on my laptop or backup drive.
Every time the software companies come out with a newer version of their product; I always feel that they take away items instead of allowing it to become more user friendly. I spend more time looking for the older features. I always tried by best to make it more user-friendly and to also add more features that would make it easier.
So...Outlook would not let me connect to my accounts via POP, which meant a whole new email paradigm for me--emails that remain on the cloud for 14 days rather than download to my laptop. It was so frustrating. I couldn't configure any of my accounts at all--just enter your user id and password and the app pretty much tells you to shut up while it does the rest. (Great if you're not a techie.) Then I noticed there were 2 Outlooks on my laptop...and this second version was more robust and included support for custom configuring and POP. Problem solved after 2 weeks of pulling my hair out wondering where all my emails were disappearing to. Needless confusion. All the other apps work as expected.
I chose the MS Office Home & Business 2024 because I......wanted to update MS Office 2011, which still worked well (Irecently built a new computer so I could update from Windows 7to Windows 11.)...expect to get a decade of use from the Office 2024 apps...don't use Office apps often enough to justify a subscription...can use 'Home & Business 2024' in for profit work...Outlook is included, which I don't presently use, but may in thefutureI like having the Product Key Code in case I need to reinstall Office 2024 again later. I purchased a new computer and I had to upgrade my Microsoft office to the new office 365 prior to that I had Microsoft office 13 the transition was very challenging and very difficult. Trying to convert the files and move all of my files to the new Program, I thought would be easy and it wasn’t and I lost a lot of information in the transition that I was unable to recover so although I have the program running now, I am missing a lot of information that was in my old business account so this was not an easy move. I can’t honestly say Microsoft is made this easy .
