After shampooing, I wring the access water out and towel dry my midshaft and ends so I can get full absorption of OGX biotin and collagen conditioner. My hair is my crown, and I'm thrilled to have a beautiful mane back!

This brand might be reformulating to meet new standards, but they continued to use a harmful ingredient in products after they acknowledged the dangers of formaldehyde producing ingredients in hair care. When I used this product, I loved the payoff. My hair instantly seems more moisturized without being weighed down, and did wonders for my hair's curl pattern. This does not seem to be the norm for curly hair having users, so be aware of this before you buy. Would I buy this again? No. I do not support OGX's business decisions regarding continued use of DMDM hydantoin in products, and being a long term user of their products, I'm angry that they didn't do better. Will I throw it out? No. It was free to try and doesn't seem to be harmful. I will use it occasionally until it runs out. Do some research before you try this, and of course, READ THE LABELS!

For reference.. my hair used to be down to my bum. I cut over 11 inches off, so now it's a little past my tshirt neck line (regular plain Tshirt) . If you use a tad bit too much pressure, product will fill your palm. Despite the fact, this shampoo doesn't lather easily at all. I used three blobs prior to getting some decent, normal lather. This clear shampoo has a strange, faint, chemical like smell, unlike what you'd expect to be in the realm of pretty shampoo like scents. Afterwards, I noticed my scalp slightly burned from irritation as a result of one shampoo session, which has never happened to my scalp, ever, in the history of me using shampoo, and I have no allergens. My hair was knotty-ish and didn't feel as clean as it normally does with other shampoo's. Regarding the volume, I didn't notice any difference as I have naturally curly hair. I'm sure OGX must have better shampoo products, but, in my, personal, experience, this wasn't one of those. My hair was long, about bra-band length, and these products left it dry and easily tangled. I had planned on returning it because I was so unhappy but never got around to it.A few months later I got my hair cut short (jaw length) and while trying to figure out how to care for my new style, figured I'd give this stuff one last try. My hair is still plenty soft, and because it's not slippery it also holds heat styling shape better, too. I also noticed in some reviews that they didn't think it made their hair stronger overall and that's...not what it does. Right on the label it says it creates the 'appearance' of full, voluminous hair. The biotin doesn't infuse the hair like a keratin would, it just coats the strand, so its effects only last until you shampoo again: it's not a long-term restoring treatment. Collagen doesn't exist in hair, in theory it could support a a healthy scalp and support follicle growth but there's not a lot of evidence of that.That said, if your hair is not already naturally dry and/or very long I definitely recommend giving it a try. It does what it says it will: creates the appearance of fullness. And the appearance is good enough for me.
