I started with the #hairrepairtreatmentkit and added sytling and smoothing products from there. I've struggled with my hair for my entire life, so this recommendation of the product doesn't come lightly.

Best Shampoo for Low Porosity Hair!

I have been using the original Olaplex No. 4 shampoo for over a year now and I have to say, after trying the Olaplex No. 4C I will never be going back! I learned last year that rather than focusing on your hair type, it is actually more important to know whether your hair is low porosity, high porosity or normal. Although my hair is type 3B I found that I had low porosity hair, which is actually not very typical for 3B hair types. I learned how to take care of my hair and choose better suited products which is why I was specifically looking for a clarifying shampoo since low porosity hair gets a lot of build up. Delivers what it promises - really clean hair. I live in very hard water area so my hair never really feels clean after rinsing. I also use a few products on my hair - an oil as standard and often a blowdry spray or cream and lamellar water. I also feel these products show diminishing returns in terms of noticable results over time, so I was hopeful a clarifying reset would help them work better, too. I was excited when I saw that Olaplex had a new product, the No.4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo! I was told by my hairstylist that I should get one and use it regularly (I use once per week) and was happy to find that Olaplex had just released one with great reviews. For reference, I only wash my hair 2-3 times per week and only use hair oil on the ends and dry shampoo, no other product between washes. I was truly impressed with the amount of build-up that the shampoo was able to take care of for me. I applied it to my hair, focusing on my scalp and massaged it in for about 2-3 minutes. I then left it on my head for another 5 minutes to let it do it's thing, then rinsed! The prouct has a slight, pleasant smell. My plan is to switch to this product once I've finished my old brand. I believe it was lots of product build up. My normal shampoo couldn't seem to wash it out despite several attempts and my hair was left feeling greasy, waxy and wet. It felt and looked horrible, alien! I started researching a solution and a clarifying shampoo seemed to be the answer. Then I came across Olaplex's one and knowing how lovely the product was in the salon and that it was a trusted brand, I went with that. It seemed pretty pricey but at this point I was prepared to pay whatever it took to fix the issue. Thank you Olaplex. It so did the job! Highly recommend. I have also bought the No. 5 conditioner and will be purchasing the one in the salon once I confirm the exact product! It is expensive but if it does the job and the product lasts (reviews say it lasts) then it is worth paying that bit extra. I've not found a decent conditioner in years so I am hoping I will find it in the Olaplex one. I've only used it once so early to say although it smelt lovely and combed through really easily unlike others. Based on my experience (it is only one go of each product to date so early days) but with these results I will be converting to Olaplex and highly recommend the products...

I kept my expectations low but since a lot of friends have used and liked Olaplex I decided that it would be worth it to try and so far it has been. Obviously it can’t cure thinning due to stress/genetics but the texture of my hair has approved tenfold since I started using the No 0, 3,4,and5.
